It's my turn to post the experience

My Interview Slot : 29th Oct, 9.30AM

Due to rain in Chennai Consulate, they allowed all the members to inside. I went inside by 8.15AM. After numerous security check, I entered to actual build where interviews took place.

Documents required :
1. 3 copies of i129s
2. 3 copies of 797 form
3. DS 160 confirmation ((Biometric confirmation date should be there)
4. Appointment letter
5. DD - 34K, please write your name and passport number behind

Question Asked VO:

1. Who is you petitioner?
2. How long you are been with current Employer?
3. Who is you client?
4. Your current salary?
5. Your Proposed US Salary?
6. What is your specialization?
7. What the tool will do ?
8. How many members are in your team?
9. What is your designation?
10. For proposed onsite engagement you will be on same designation?
11. Your proposed work location?

Now Golden works "You VISA is Approved"

It took around 4 mins completely. VO was keenly listening my answers by looking at me.

Be confident while answering.

It took almost 5 mins. VO was looking at me while I was answering .

Just be confident in What you answer.... I know it's easy to say this.... But you have to do it.

Thanks so much for this site which helped me to go through my L1A blanket on 28th Oct 2015 @Chennai Visa Consulate.

I got PA date on 27th and 28th Oct 2015 @chennai.

Day1:-
It was very smooth ,i submitted all the required docs like DS-160 confirmation,Web Appointment confirmation,Valid Passport to Chennai VAC @No.82,Kodambakkam High road,Numgabakkam,Chennai,600034..They will check all your details in passport are correct or not here and also they will take bio-metrics .

Day2:-

My appointment was at 9:00 AM on 28th and i gone there by 8:45 AM and they allowed me,my wife and 5 year old kid and checked all the docs and it got completed within 10 minutes.

Than they collected my DD (only for Blanket) and bio-metric confirmation and allowed me to the interview counter.There is a different interview counter for L1A blanket i guess,so there was only one guy was there.

Here is my questions and answers:-

VO:- GM Sir,How are you
Me;- Iam fine,I replied how are you.

VO:- How long you been in this company?
Me:- YYYY years(he asked 2 times)

VO:-What is your designation?
ME:- YYYY

VO:- Who is your client and where they are US?
ME:- Client name and Place and state

VO:- Who you will report to and is he will control any thing in your client part?
ME: I told my BRM(Business relationship Manager) and also told my manager is no longer related to client ,i will just report to him(he works for my parent company).I will be the superior in client place.

VO:-How many people will report to you?
ME:- 17 and onshore he asked 6 members.

For my wife:-
VO:- How long you been married?
WIfe:- XX years

VO:-Where did you met before marriage?
Wife:- Arranged marriage

VO:- How old is your kid?
Wife:- 5 years

After shot pause VO told ,your visa is approved.

ME:- Thank you sir ......

I was out of Visa consulate by 9:30 AM,they took just 30 minutes ...it was great experience...

VO looked very strict but was listening to all the details i was telling carefully.I think it is confidence and your way of answering to the questions will get you Visa.

My company has applied for L1Individual petition under regular processing and its now 2 months but still I haven't got any response from USCIS. Can anyone please help me to know what is the stipulated time of response from USCIS to get approval.

My VO was a good gentleman who smiled in between and gave enough time for me to explain and he acknowledged couple of times that he understood what I explained. Questions I got were-
1. Do you have a specialization?
2.What is that?
3.What is your project?
4. Why you are selected?
5. Where in US?
Thats it! The VO smiled at me and told 'Your Visa Approved'. I told him thanks and collected two sets of sealed 129S from him and left the counter. It took 15 mins at bio-metric center and 45 mins at consulate. Thanks again and best of luck to all who are going for interview .

I reached at Chennai Consulate at 7:50 am. My interview was scheduled at 8:30.
Went through all counters for 30 mints. Finally I was in interview queue.
There were 3 counters for L1 application. One VO looks very cool, decent and friendly. I saw 2 guys got approval from him. He was not that strict and was smiling. Other 2 VOs were looked like very strict particularly the lady one. I wanted to go to the friendly VO. After 10 mints I was at front of the queue waiting to go to the counter. I estimated the guy next to me will get a chance to go to that friendly VO. I seriously thought, "If i will go to any other VO my chance is 50/50". So I played a little trick (dont ask I will never say. However I didnt bribe any body or do any illegal trick) to stand next to the guy behind me and finally got the counter I wished for.

VO: Hi
Me: Good Morning officer
VO: Good morning, documents please.
VO: For how long you are working for in Hitachi
Me: 3 years and XX months out of total experience of XX years and XX months
VO: What you will do in US?
Me: Answered about the work in proprietary tool
VO: Can you tell about the tool?\
Me: Answered 3 lines
VO: For how long you are going to US?
Me: XX months
VO Are you married sir?
Me:: Yes
VO: Do you have kids?
Me: Yes sir, one daughter
VO: daughters are good
Me: Yes sir, now a days daughters are good
VO: Yes of course
 Then he, signed and stamped, kept passport and one copy of document, returned two copies and said your visa is approved.

Me: Thank u, have a nice day.

The VOs in other counters were checking every document vividly and the lady VO was taking around 30 mints for one interview and didn't see her smiling at all. So how hard you prepare (I prepared a lot), it depends on the VO who is taking your interview. So best of luck!!!! Mind every word you are answering. One negative word can get your visa rejected. :):):)

Dear Friends
I would like to share my experience for L1A Visa. Many posts on these website have been immensely helpful to me and i hope that my post shall help few of the people to get answers to their worries.
My company had applied for L1A individual Visa and the petition was approved by USCIS within 15 days.
After that i filled DS-160 and took appointment for Visa interview at the Mumbai consulate. My finger printing was done on 4th Sept 2015 and it went as smooth as possible and I was out within 5 minutes. Please do not go more than 15 minutes in advance to your appointment time. They only check the passport and the DS-160 confirmation. The entire process took less than 5 minutes.
The main hurdle, the actual interview was on 8th Sep 2015. There was a long queue and after about 35-40 minutes, i entered the consulate. There was a queue and the Indian employees took our passport from us and the fingerprints were verified by US Visa officer. My passport was returned and since mine was L1A Visa, i was asked to keep my 797 ready along with the passport.
Most of the people ahead of me were families and were being interviewwd in groups and from their body language it seemed that there Visas were getting approved, it increased by confidence a bit.
However there was one young girl who was interviewed for almost 5 minutes and i could hear the VO telling her that her Visa is not approved..... I started getting nervous, then came my turn.
I was in front of the VO for barely 50 secs. The interview was as below:
Me; Good morning Officer
VO: Good morning, your passport please
I handed him the passport, the VO was not looking at me, he continued to stare at the computer screen and was typing.
VO: What is your qualification ?
ME: B.TEch
VO: What is your specialization.
ME: Told about my specialization in two words,
VO: OK, i ned more information to approve your Visa,
He handed over my passport and 221(g) green form.
VO: Please provide the information requested in this form. You need not return to the consulate.
I was dejected and then VO looked at my face and smiled.
VO: Do not worry, we shall issue you the Visa once you provide the required information"for Administrative processing""

Naturally, i was very disappointed with this and came back to office with the 221(g).
The information asked in 221(g) was:
1) Invitation letter from my USA company in PDF format
2) Detailed CV, SOP, financial support, details of overseas travel in last 10 years, No. of travellers etc in a word file.

I provided all the information in a single email on email ID provided in the form.
Then started the most difficult phase. There were numerous experiences regarding 221(g) and there were very contradictory. Many ppl mentioned that they had submitted the documents and waiting for months with no update. Few ppl had the result, either approval or rejection in a month or two.
I was very anxious. The websites provide no information regarding the exact time period for the "Administrative processing". I kept on checking in the CEAC site but got same reply.
Finally after three weeks, i got a mail from consulate requesting to submit passport along with copes of 797 and also the documents mentioned in 221(g)
i submitted these docs along with my passport and finally got the Visa stamped.
My advice to people facing 221(g) hardships:
Be patient, even if the CEAC says that it may take several months, it usually takes 15 working days if your documents are in order.
So submit the documents and pray to God.

I am flying to USA on 2nd Nov.

After my unsuccessful attempt for L1A Blanket Visa in Jan 2015 which was refused by US Chennai Consulate the time comes for me to experience my L1A Individual Visa Interview on 23rd Oct 2015. My Visa PA time was at 9.00 AM, I along with my wife and 2 years 4 months old daughter reached Mumbai US Consulate at 8.00 AM. We went inside the US Consulate completed biometric process once again and get in-front of the VO. Because of my previous L1A Blanket Refusal in Jan 2015 I was bit nervous but my suggestion to everyone is to stay calm and confident.

Ans: Explained the objective of my visit and Brief description about my project

VO: Do all 8 people will report to you and will be at onsite along with you?

Ans: Not all 8 people directly report to me. As per my onsite Project Team hierarchy I
            have 4 direct reportees and 4 indirect reportees, I have one supervisor as my
            direct reportee to whom all my indirect reportees will report. Yes all 8 people
            will be at onsite.

VO: Do you have hire and fire authority?

Ans: Yes

Questions to My Wife (This the Moment when start feeling comfortable)

VO: How long you have been married for?

Ans: XX Years

Questions on my 2 years old daughter who was accompanying us

VO: After looking at my daughter and with smiling face asked me Is this is the only
        child you have?

Ans: I Replied Yes

After all the question he was continued typing for good 5 minutes on his system and than the Golden Words Your Visa is Approved

The only Suggestion I can give is be calm, confident and positive

VO: Whats your specialization
ME: Explained the tool which I have designed and developed in three statements.

ME: Just me, me alone

She just took and started to stamped the 129S

ME: I just continue to explain the second benefit of the tool
