L1A Visa Application
Hi Guys,
I will have my visa interview by next week. I have an L1A Visa before which expired last 2012. Do you think having an L1A visa before is a plus factor for your new L1A visa to be approved? Thank you.

Hi, I got my L1A blanket approved in London. Thanks to this forum for the useful information and experiences from the fellow members.

The process is very well organized and systematic in London US embassy.

Here are the questions asked.

a. Do you manage a department ?

b. How many people are reporting to you ?

c. What is your salary ?

d. From how many years you are with this company ?

e. Why your family is not with you ?

It was not even for 2 to 3 minutes. The VO was cool and approved the visa.

L1 blanket and L1 individual visa got rejected
Hi Folks,

I wanted to share my experience on L1B visa as well as need your valuable assistance.

I had total 7.5 years of experience of which 2.5 years is with current employer.
My employer had applied L1B Blanket visa on March 2015 which got rejected due to "L1 application is not clearly approvable under section 8 CFR 214.2 (I)(ii)(D) and INA 101 (a) (15)(L)"

Post which my employer filed L1B Individual under premium processing in the same year. I had received RFE and my employer submitted required documents to USCIS. But somehow it also got rejected.

Now my employer is planning to apply L1 Blanket with same petition number next year.

Below are the question on which I need assistance:

1) As my employer is filling L1 Blanket again with same petition will this work for me ?
2) Can my employer file L1B Individual again this year?
3) Am I eligible for H1B for next year.

Can you please advise what will be the best available option for my case.

Awaiting for your valuable response.

Dear VISA Seekers,

This forum was very useful to clear my VISA interview. Here is my experience !!. I went with my wife and One year old Son.

Biometric : 12-Nov
Appointment time was 8.30 and being a rainy day, they allowed us inside by 8 Am itself.
After verifying the Passport, Appointment, DS-160 at reception, they allowed us inside for the Biometric process. Token number was given to us and we were awaiting for the counter number.
All process were completed within 30 Mins.

Visa Interview: 13-Nov
It was a heavy rain day in chennai on that day. For 9 Am appointment, we started much early in order to keep buffer time for the traffic and water logging.
We reached the embassy on time. Mobile, CD, Pendrive are not allowed inside the embassy and hence a long queue was there to secure those in safety lockers.
My advice is not to carry those items. I left my mobile in the car and carried only the necessary documents.

Experience: 11 years , Qualification: Bachelor Degree

We need to pass through the Following Queues
1) Appointment Verification , DS-160 Verification
2) Security Check and Frisking
3) Petition Validation
4) DD Submission counter
5) Bio Metric Process
6) Passport validation
7) Visa Interview

After finishing first 6 queues, I and my wife were waiting for our turn. Being L1A, this was sent in separate counters and very less people were present for this category.

Here are the questions

VO: Next Please
Me: Good Morning
VO: Greeted us Back
VO: Passport and Petition please ( i-129S , 1-797 & Passport )
Me: Provided
VO: Which company you are working ?
Me: YYYY Company
VO: Will you be working in your company office ?
Me: No. I will be working in my client Office. Told the client name, location and state
VO: How many direct reportees you have in Onsite ?
Me: 4 in onsite and 10 from offshore.
VO: Whom do you report to ?
Me: Account Engagement Manager
VO: Is he in Client office?
Me: Yes
VO: Is he the highest authority in client office?
Me: yes
VO: So you have your Manager as highest authority, below him you are the only reportee ?
Me: I am the only direct reportee and I am gonna to join him there in onsite. Below me there are 4 people.
VO: What is your salary ?
Me: YYYY USD
VO: How many years of manager experience ?
Me: 3 years
VO: What is your highest qualification ?
Me: Replied

To my wife
What is your highest qualification ?
Have you every applied for Student Visa ?

After typing for few secs, He said "Your Visa is approved" and he stamped the seal in all the three I-129S documents and returned 2 copies to me. Asked one to handover to my HR. Another one I may need to produce at Port of entry. He was very polite right from beginning.

Visa is valid for 3 years.

All the Best. Be confident and dont be nervous !!!.

L1A Individual Approved in Hyd
Thanks a ton to this forum for help me with all the possible questions..

My Interview was on 18th Nov and the it was quite simple. Questions asked were

To me.

1) Who is your petitioner?
2)What's your highest qualification.?
3)Designation?
4)How long with the current company?
5)How many reportees do you have?

My Wife.

1)What's your husband's DOB?
2)What's your marriage date?

that's all, then the golden words came "Your Visa is Approved",

As per my experience, For the Petitions which are approved already, VISA is just a kind of formality and questions are quite simple.

All the very best.
