L1 B Visa Experience
First of all, thanks to all the forum members who have shared their experiences. Those helped me a lot.

I had my OFC interview in my own city Hyderabad, on 12th August, which was pretty simple and straight forward.

For L1 stamping I flew to Chennai for an appointment scheduled at 10:30 am on 14th August.

I arrived consulate office at around 8:15 am and was bit surprised to see long queue ~100 applicants waiting on both the side of entrance parallel to main road. The queue was only increasing, I never saw it shrinking, even when I was done with my interview.

I won't be writing much about this worst waiting experience, but just would like to tell, my turn came at around 12:10, you can now imagine how this works.

Anyway, coming to interview, after getting token and submitting the 500$ DD, I was asked to wait again, (no token ordering, my token was not even flashing on screen). At last at around 12:45, I was asked to stand in a small queue in front of one window.

Two persons were ahead of me, unfortunately their VISA didn't get approved.

My turn :-

VO : Good Morning
ME : Good Afternoon (Yes it was around 1 o' clock)

VO : Which company you work for ?
ME : <told my company name>

VO : Will you be working foo any client ?
ME : No, I'll be working for my parent company.

VO : Sorry, which client ?
ME: Parent Company, Sir
VO: Oh, parent company, Gotcha you

VO: So, what's your Specialization ?
ME: <told my specialization in brief and told the proprietary details>

VO: What you'll be doing in US ?
ME: <briefed him about the plans/work details>

He started stamping my 3 sets of document and after a while, he said your VISA is approved, kept my passport, and returned 2 sets of documents to me.

Some opinion of my own :
a. Questions asked should have answers that matches your provided documents.
b. Straight forward answers with confidence put more weight on approval side.
c. Lack of confidence is bad, at the same time over-confident is "really" bad.
d. Visa Approval is all about the VO's state of mind.
e. Don't get frustrated if VISA is not approved, its not an end of Life.
f. Seeing the unending long queue at Consulate, only one thought comes up, why USA ? Probably its a trend/dream for all IT/non-IT professionals :P

L2 Visa Interview : Interview without spouse
Hi

This forum has been helpful in getting me prepared for my L2 interview , and I wanted to share my experience with the same.
I had applied for my L2 interview at the Chennai consulate and had attended the interview without my spouse, since he was already in the US . I was pretty worried, but the interview was very straightforward.
Questions asked are as follows:
What company does your husband work for?
What is your highest level of education
How long has it been since u got married?

And my visa was approved. He did not ask to see any documents at all. I think that was because I went through the BEP program.
However for all those dependents out there who are applying for L2 , fear not as the interview will be a quick and an easy one. :-) .

Thanks

Queries on L1B
Hi All,
I appeared for L1B visa last november and it was rejected by lady visa consul.
She asked only three questions and did not enquire anything about my specialised knowledge. But still she rejected my application. I thought of going for L1B again this month.

If my visa interview asks the reason for my previous L1B rejection ,what can i say?
Anyone who already gone through this situation can help me out.

Missed middle name while creating profile on Visa scheduling appointment.
I have a query. I did not put my middle name while creating a profile for scheduling the appointment. Now my appointment confirmation has my first and last name whereas my Ds160/passport had First Middle and Last name. will this create any issues.?

L1 and L2 at New Delhi Consulate
I appeared for L1 visa stamping for myself and L2 for my family on 24th July 2014 at New Delhi - ShantiPath US Embassy. Till now, I have not heard anything from them. When I check the status for the DS-160 online, it says "Administrative Processing".

Does anyone has any experience in letting me know how much more time it would take to get it "Issued" Status as we have business plan to follow up in United States.

Looking forward any inputs on the same.

Thanks,

Anshul

L1 individual and L2
I and my husband had interview on Friday, 25th July at New Delhi Consulate. VO said basically it is approved and he will update the status once my details show up and he kept the passport. There was some issue with the system and they were not able to update it immediately.

Now our case status is showing as "Administrative Processing" on consular website.
"we would like to inform you that your visa case is currently undergoing necessary administrative processing. This processing can take several weeks. Please follow any instructions provided by the Consular Officer at the time of your interview. If further information is needed, you will be contacted. If your visa application is approved, it will be processed and mailed/available within two business days. "

VO did not mention about AP during the interview. I am not sure if this AP is for my case or just because of the reason that their systems are facing issues and how much time this can take? My husband passport is required immediately for his official travel in this week and it is submitted with them. Please suggest what can be done.

Can anyone please share his experience if they have got the VISA stamped passport after interview on 25th July?

L1A Blanket Experience and question
I had my L1A Blanket interview at Toronto consulate today. For some reason the US Consulate systems are down worldwide and because of that the VOs have been unable to approve the visas instantaneously. I do have a question from experience people on this forum. My interview went well but was told that the systems are down and hence the VO cannot approve my visa but they kept my passport. I hope it will be approved. The VO and Consulate officials just took two copies of I-129S and when I asked them if they need the third one as well they said no. Can someone please confirm if all 3 copies are to be stamped?

My experience: I reached consulate at 8.40 for a 9 am interview. After submitting the checks, I was given a token to wait for VO to call me.

Interview went like this:

VO: How long have you lived in Canada? Whats your status in Canada?
Me: 11 months, work permit.

VO: My profile in US?
Me: The normal stuff. Resource management, program management etc.

VO: Number of reports:
Me: 22 (VO dint ask direct and indirect)

VO: Asked description of my projects.
Me: Described the 3 projects I will be handling and the roles my reports will have.

VO: Did I stay in US before? How long?
Me: I said, 6 years, VO asked me if I maxed out my H1B and I said yes.

VO: What will be my US salary?
Me: YYYY K /year.

VO: How long will you stay in the US?
Me: 3 years.

VO: May I see you 2013 T-4? (Like the W-2 of US)
Me: Then I had to explain her that I spent only 4 months in Canada in 2013 and hence the salary is not representative of my yearly salary. She was ok with the explanation.

She then said unfortunately the system is down worldwide and she cannot approve the visa right now. They will send an email in 2 days confirming the approval. I thought may be she wants me to come back but she kept the passport and I-129s and told me to lookout for the email. I am hopeful that my visa will be approved and I will be able to pick it up next week.
