I have developed a new framework for my client that needs to be integrated with their existing propritary system. I have not used any propritary tool of my current employer for developing new framework. I have worked for 2 years to develop this framework. Do I qualify for L1 B?

L1A Blanket Visa Interview
I had my L1A Blanket Visa Interview on Nov 14th 2012.

Visa Officer asked me following questions

1) Why do you want to go to US
2) Are you going to US as a manager
3) How long you are working with the company

Questions to my wife

1) What is your education

After that Visa Office told me your visa is approved and then her computer got hanged and said it will be few mins and after that she told me i am approving your visa but we need to some admin processing and it will take 2 weeks before i receive passport. Then she handed me 221G (Pink slip) along with my passport and told me to go over to different counter.

Questions at other counter

1) About my education
2) About my previous work experience
3) Information about my siblings

After that she kept my passports and I-129S form and told me they will courier my stamped passport but it will take 4-8 weeks.

Thanks

L1A (Individual) Approved
L1A (Individual) visa was approved.

It is my pleasure to share my interview experience at US embassy, Singapore. In the first place, I thank all the contributors in this site to share their genuine experience whether they were successful or not. It really helped much to map out visa classification, insight of each category, in depth analysis and related invaluable comments on their experience. I referred this site whenever the doubt arose during preparation for the interview.

Based on my experience, I just want to highlight few things.
1) Be genuine to submit clean documents to the consulate, so that you can answer straight away to the questions asked without guessing any.
2) Listen to their question carefully and provide exact answer in short and full

Now i just replicate what exactly happened during interview counters.

In the first call: I submitted documents such as confirmation page, appointment letter, Bank receipt for visa fee etc

In the second call: Finger printing was taken (Left 4 fingers, Right 4 fingers and only 2 thumbs together) and VO passed my documents and further requested to wait for 3rd call.

In the 3rd call: Actual interview was taken place as below

Me: Hi Good morning and inserted all documents given to me during 2nd call in which i found their stamps, ticks etc
VO: Good morning and she received all documents and verified for few seconds.
VO: What is your highest education?
Me: Masters in Computer Integrated Manufacturing
VO: Mam (to my wife), Whats is your highest education?
My wife: Masters in Information System
VO: When you got your citizenship in Singapore? (Because i got my citizenship by naturalization in Singapore)
Me: 2006
VO: Before that you were as Indian Citizen, right?
Me: Yes
VO: Why there was a delay between I-129 petition and this visa stamping? (because my company spent more than 3 months in preparing supporting documents in US)
Me: I replied " my company spent quiet some time to prepare for all required documents. that's why"
VO: Okay
VO: What is your salary in Singapore and US?
Me: I stated my salary in Singapore and US.
VO: Okay
VO: Your visa is approved and you will receive your visa in 3 working days
Me: Thank you mam

Time spent in embassy: Roughly 4 hours including waiting period, security screening, interview and exit.

I thank again this immihelp to provide a site with large database for aspiring candidates in getting US visa regardless of nationality, gender and race. This site has genuine information what everyone can trust without hesitation.

Thank you,
Regards,
Rajesh, Singapore.

L1 B Visa Approved (14th November, 8:30 AM)
Hi, i would like to thank everyone who posted their experience in this website. The content available here is a real wealth of information, it has helped me immensely in clearing the US Visa interview on a tough L1 B category. It is my pleasure to post my experience here.

I selected the frequently asked L1 B questions by going through more than 50 posts. I finalized close to 10 possible questions for my skill set and prepared the answers thoroughly. I spent lot of time in rehearsing these answers in front of the mirror to increase my confidence and to increase the accuracy of the delivery. This home work has really helped to answer the questions.

As soon as we entered the interview hall we were seated opposite to a counter where a VO was approving all the visas at will without asking much questions. I was praying to god that he should be my interviewer, my prayers were answered as the person who allots the queue asked me and my wife to wait in that queue for interview. We were third person in the queue. The first visa for L1 A was approved but this time the interviewer asked all possible questions for that category. Then came the 2nd candidate who appeared for a L1 B category (same as myn). Interviewer asked so many questions, which is totally different from how we perceived him and finally rejected that candidate. Then came our turn, i went near the queue stating actually chanting that my visa will be approved.....several times

Questions were

Me: Good Morning Sir
VO: Good Morning
VO: How much is your company paying for your onsite assignment?
Me: I'm sorry i din't hear you properly, could you please come again
VO: repeated the same question
Me: I stated my annual salary
VO: How long have you been working with **** *
Me: 6 & half years
VO: What is your specialized skill set
Me: Explained about my knowledge and expertize on our company Proprietary tool
VO: Sir, you should be letting me know what is that proprietary tool
Me: I said the name of the tool and briefly gave a description of the tool in two lines
VO: Is it a reporting tool?
Me: No, again explained few more functionalities of the tool
VO: Is it a Business Intelligence tool?
Me: I again explained him few more unique and special features of the tool and how it is supporting the business
VO: Name your clients?
Me: I explained our top 3 revenue generating clients
VO: Is the tool developed through a share point or .....
Me: No it is developed using .Net technology
VO: What will be your deliverable in the US?
Me: I will be responsible for implementing our proprietary tools and .........................
VO: How many years you are with **** **? (he again repeated this question)
Me: 6 plus years
VO: Type something for 30 seconds (by this time i was more or less sure that my visa is approved)
VO: Your visa is approved. Stamped two copies of the petition document and gave it to us.
Me: Thank you very much sir, have a great day

No questions to my wife. I felt like i suddenly lost more than 10 kg, felt so light. There was so much pressure for me to clear the interview and i must thank god for answering all our prayers and i'm personally very happy with my preparation. All the very best to each one of you.

L1B blanket Approved in Chennai on 5th Nov!
Hi All..

Firstly a huge Thanks for everyone who took their time off in sharing their experience. I was a very loyal follower of the posts and it did really help me prep up things!

As everyone are aware Visa Interview is now split into 2 days. I had my Bio-metrics collection on 4th Nov 2012. My interview was scheduled at 3PM, but i reached at 2PM just for a safer side.. Guess my luck worked as charm.. I finished my metrics with in 20 mins, i was out by 2:20PM. May be coz it was sunday the venue looked less crowded. Its very simple process of collecting your finger prints and Photograph!

Nov 5th @US consulate

My big day was at its best!! Thou i heard from my fnds cribbing about long queues and waiting time thankfully i dint face either! My interview was at 10AM, i reached there around 9:15 and queue dissolved pretty soon. In no time i was inside the consulate and got my initial documents checked and fingerprints were verified again!

I went to the counter to pay fee and in no time my token number flashed on the screen for interview.

It was a lady and it almost looked like she just wanted to grab my passport n throw me out :)

My interview was less than a min more off like a rapid fire round.
purpose of your travel?
which domain?
client? ( She seemed pretty much aware of the client as she smiled hearing the name)
your specialized skills?
why only you from the team?

I couldnt believe I answered all the above questions in no time.. Guess thats because I had done my home work well!!! She uttered those much awaited words.. Am approving your visa.. Have a great day!

Gave a big smile possible and thanked her :) I was out by 10Am..

With such quick interview everyone around me tot it was rejected but when i went to pay the premium delivery charges, I could see head turn.. :)

So here is the take away!!

90% people around you will look panicked.. Dont let the virus affect you!
Look presentable and be calm..
Be pleasant while you answer.. i saw couple of people screaming at the counters thinking VO cant hear them..FYI there will a mike infront of you which most ppl dont notice!
you will not have whole day to impress VO, make your answers crisp and short. Do the home work!
If you can talk well you have bagged the Visa..

All the best!!

Regards
Komala

L1B Blanket approved in chennai.
Thanks a lot for this forum. I have prepared myself a lot for the interview and at last as many of stated in their experienced there was a fumble before the officer. As I work for a world famous product based company so the officer was kind enough to approve my case. I attended the interview with my family (wife & kid)

The visa officer was seriously typing something thru out the interview.........

The following question were asked in the interview -

Me : Good Morning officer..
VO: Good Morning..

Vo: So, how long you are working for ZZZ?
Me: its been 5 years

Vo: What you are going to in US office?
Me. I am an application architect and responsible for architeture for one or more domains.

Vo: Which all domains are included?
Me: YYYY X

Vo: Are you going on L1 B, right? what is your clarification?
Me: B E (EEE)

Vo: Why you are going? what you are special?
Me: We have implemented YYYY (interrupted)

VO: What is ZZZ?
Me: Explained

Vo: What is the project ?
Me: explained .......(interrupted again)

Vo: What is YYYY ?
Me: explained

Vo:Do you have the CV with you?
Me: Yes, I gave the CV and he checked that for about 5 mins...

Questions to my wife :

6. How long you have been married?
7. How old is your Kid?
8. Which standard he is studing?
9. What is your education qualification?

After that the gloden words came from him "Your visa is approved for 3 years" and you need to carry these forms and show them at the port of entry.

So, I was very lucky to get the visa approved. Have lot of faith in God so he also helped me a lot.

I would like to thanks each and every one who contributed to this forum....its a great help for the people who are attending the visa interviews.

Thanks
God's grace.

l1b extension RFE Question
My current L1-B-Blanket Visa and I-94 are expiring on Jan 31 2013. My company applied for L1B- Individual Visa extension, but i got a RFE , with questions on my specialised training and skills.
I last entered the country in July 21 2012. I have some questions- please help.

1. Should i go to local CBP office- to get extended my I-94- as i heard, CBP is supposed to give I-94 with 2/3 year extension- when you last entered the country? This means i would withdraw my RFE and L1B Visa extension applcation, if i got my I-94 extended?

2. Should i go ahead in answering the RFE? As my current I-94 is valid till Jan 31 2013, and its already Nov middle- should i convert my RFE on L1B Visa extension to Premium processing, to get an early answer- so as i can plan on my future in advance. I dont want to be in condition- wherein i get a denial on my L1B extension, after my I-94 expiraton , and i would be asked to elave the country within 1 week. Please advice. If converting RFE to premium processing is ok- or it increases probablity of denials more??
