Chances of getting L1 visa approved, after b1 visa denial twice thie year
Hi All,

This forum is very useful for the people who are seeking for US visas.. keep it up and thank you very much for the immediate reponse.
Me and my colleague had appeared for b1 visa this year, since our company has invited us to the head quarters for business purpose and to meet the other colleagues like developers, BAs and Managers for a new project. but unfortunately our visas were refused by the consulate officer and reason given as "Your company is not sending you in right visa" both the times. We are working for XX American Clinical research company - number 1 in the world which has just started IT subsidary in India. Also IT business has been acquired from service based YY company and has been started by itself by this year only. So we the old employees from YY company has been recruited to the current company XX. So our company is trying to apply L1 visa for us. Is there any chances of getting L1 visa?

L1B re-application after denial 3 months back
Hi All,
Just wanted to share the experience L1-B application of my wife.
She was working in US 3 months back and her L1-B extension was rejected. We did not have any other choice except for re-applying under the same category as her employer H1-B quota had exhausted.
She re-applied, went for the interview today.
The interviewer asked her:
a. Basic questions about her.
b. Her job profile, experience, etc.
c. The nature of work that she will be doing in US.
d. She did not specifically focus on her specialized skills part, which , these days is the most frequent questionnaire that L1-B VISA applicants are asked.
e. Then she enquired about her rejected VISA, the reason of rejection, and whether she was arrested by legal authorities while overstaying in US.

Her VISA was approved despite her application having very few variations than what she had provided for her extension.
We are glad that her VISA got approved.

I wanted to specifically post this experience as I saw a lot of people asking the question about re-application of L1-B after the rejection one time.

I guess these days there are very few rejections that I could observe on the internet under several forums.

I would suggest people to post their experiences and different scenarios, despite rejections, so that people are not unnecessarily discouraged or encouraged due to experience of only few sections of the applicants, thereby avoiding any generalization of the consequences.

Thank you.

Help in understanding things
Last year i have applied for L1 B but the officer took PG-DBM as my highest qualification and said that i have applied under wrong category. You need to apply under L1 A. This year again i have applied for L1 B but not showing PG-DBM in my education. Will this affect my Visa.

Passport delivery confusion
Hi,

Did anyone of you got the passport after the confusions???

For me the mail system says that "passport is In Transit From Post" for the past 3 days, I called up the call center they say pp is with consulate post section and not yet handed over to courier but i got a mail from the same support team (via ustraveldocs.com) saying PP has been handed over to the courier without any reference number.

Blue dart says they havent received it yet from the consulate..

Just starting to get a bit worried.... :-(

Please if anyone gets the PP just let others know...

gud luck...

Hi All,

I attended the interview as well on the 1st of October and was expecting to get my passport back with 2 or max 3 days. But I still have not received the passport. I opted for the premium processing as well after my visa was approved. Please let me know if any of you receive the passport or get any updates on the passport.

Thanks

L1 visa approved
Hi All,

I attended the visa interview on 1st october 2012. I had my interview earlier scheduled on 20th september but it got cancelled due to the agitations at the consulate. Had to again schedule the interview and this time it got more painful had to travel for 2 times. 1 for biometrics and another for PA. I cud not get appointments on consecutive days so had to travel back and forth between BLR-CHN since a weekend had come in between the two appointments.

Biometrics just took 10 mins but had to travel 700 km to&fro just for this.... :-(

Now coming to the PA on 1st october, i had the appointment @ 8AM reached the consulate around 7.10 hoping i cud also be allowed along with first batch which was @ 7.30 but had to wait and was allowed inside around 7.40 after the security checks.

Next was the token issuance, documents arrangement and fingerprint counters which were done quite fast.

But when i went to the second building there was a big crowd waiting and the hall was almost full had to wait for around 45 -50 mins to have my turn. There were only 4 windows open at that time i think that was the reason for some sluggishness in the movement.

Once my token was called went to the designated counter.

Greeted the VO with a smile and a cheerful GM, handed over the documents to him. Standard questions were asked what other people have mentioned in the forum. The key point is to convince the VO that you have a specialization which cud not be replaced by someone there directly in the US. So please prepare something around that and make sure you express it clearly to the VO in layman terms preferably without getting to technical / specifics.

VO was friendly and tried to keep me comfortable at all times. Interview was around 3-4 mins i guess..

Finally he told the visa was approved and i wud get the passport in 3-4 days.

Headed straight to the premium delivery service counter filled in the form paid 300 extra and came out relieved.

But still not yet got the passport in hand... :-(

The tracking status is always shown as "passport in transit" for the past 3 days and hoping to get it soon and start my trip atleast next week...

Pasport delevery from consulate
Hey ..I was also interviewed on Oct 1 and granted L1 the visa. I also opted for premium delevery where they said that they will send PP to the address provided. Till now if didn't arrive'

The email status tracking is showing very confusing results some time "Rady for pickup" some times " in trasinit" and some time "picked up". I tried calling vfs numbers and they say that it is handed over to courior service i.e. blue dart. I tried to call blue dart customer care also but they say they PP is not yet handed over to them as PP# is the reference number using which they try to find it in their system. Please respond if some body else is facing similer issues.
