L1-B visa interview @ chennai approved
First of all thanks to the forum.. this has helped to prepare well for visa..
The questions asked are already mentioned in this forum and visa or ofc processe is very much self expainatory. The staff will guide well for the process.
the only thing to focus for the L1B- blanket category is the specialized knowledge.

Picked up the passport
I had my Visa interview on 28th September and after the interview, I opted for the Premium Courier Service to get the passport at my home address.
I started tracking from 1st October and status was Origination Scan for 1 week and from past 1 week the status was "Transit from post".
I had called up the number given by courier people on 5th Oct and they said the passport will be delivered by 6th or 7th but till date I didn't received from courier. When I called up customer care yesterday, their response was very vague and careless and they told me to just wait.
So, I decided to go to the VFS office in bangalore which is the pick up location and I got my passport there.
Paying Rs. 300 was completely waste. All I want to say is this VFS service has gone really bad these days.
My suggestion is to avoid opting for Premium Courier Service. It is simply just waste of your money.

L1A Visa Approved
Immihelp really helps :). Thanks to everyone who have shared their expereinces.
Initially my PA date was on Sept 18th and as you all know, that particular week, all appointments were cancelled. So my company re-scheduled the appointment to Oct9th and Oct10th.
I travelled with my wife and 2 kids.
Oct 9th OFC office: In the HDFC receipts, my company had wrongly entered my first name and my daughter's surname in the form. I immediately noticed this and asked my company, and they said there should not be any issues. Luckily the OFC people also were of the same opinion. I and my wife had bimetrics and photo, for my kids they took photo, scanned and uploaded to the system.
Oct 10th US Consulate: I had my appointment at 12.00 noon, reached the consulate at 11.20. The security let me in at 11.30(looking at my 2 kids, 3 and 1 year old ). Once we went in, at the first counter they verified passport, appointment letter, DS160 and issued a token, where they again did some verification and said that the DD's need to be changed as the currency exchange rates are revised :(. Initially he advised me to come back with the corrected amount and later he was nice enough to say that they have some cash and I can get refund, infact he even asked me if I can make a payment using my credit card :D. Later he asked us to proceed to another building where the actual interview is conducted. During this time, my 2 kids were very cranky and had to hear from the security :(. My bad... We moved on to the other building and I went to the cash counter, the lady took my DD's and she did some verification and refunded me the difference amount. Moved on to the next room, there we waited for 5 min and I went to counter for my interview.
Me: Good morning officer
VO: Very good morning,(to my wife) how long have you been married and your husbands birth date.. After my wife answered, he said please go and have your seat, will ask some questions to your husband.
VO to me: How long with YYYY company?
me: 8y 9 months
VO: very long time
VO: How many reporties ?
Me: answered as per the petition
VO: Have u travelled to US before?
Me: yes, i have travelled twice, to YYYY state and YYYY state
VO: How long have you been with this CLient?
Me: 3 months
VO: Can I see all your old passports please
VO: I am approving your VISA, please carry these 2 copies of documents and provide 1 copy to your HR and 1 with you while you are travelling.
Me: Thank you officer, you have a good day then
VO: you too

Procedure is very simple but please follow the rules below
1) Need not carry any other documents apart from

2) No bags are allowed inside the hall. Mobile phones to be switched off.
3) Need not reach their earlier than 20-30 min..as they won't let you in before your scheduled time.
Actual Interview:

The current status of your passport is In Transit From Post.

L1-B Blanket approved
All,
My L1-B Blanket got approved. I had a interview on 9th oct (OFC) and 10th oct (Visa interview) at Chennai with my wife and 4 year old kid. Already in recent post people have posted new process and it is very much same and very useful. Just wanted to highlight few things.
=> Make sure you create your profile on http://www.ustraveldocs.com/in/ with firstname: given name and lastname: surname as per passport. During OFC I saw some people had a problem with this and they were sent back and asked to correct the name as per passport and reschedule the interview. In case you have created profile with Preferred name, you can submit the request online in the website and they get it corrected in 48 hrs I guess. I did this correction.
=> Kids with less than 1 year only get the priority token.
=> Don’t go before 30-40 mins of your time as they don’t allow to get in and you need to wait outside on the road in hot climate and you surely with get suntan 
=> Make sure your kid wear their choice of dress as they need to spent around 1-2 hours inside and they will go crazy easily as my 4 year old son was asking chocolates, ice-creams etc..which you don’t get inside.
=> There is drinking water available every stage and rest-room for you to relax :-)
=> I took L1-B Blanket DD in favor of “US Consulate General, Chennai” and they accepted it.
Visa officers are really cool ,easy going and they try to make sure candidate feels as comfortable as possible.
My interview:
VO: Good Morning man.. How are you doing ?
Me; Thanks sir. Am good how are you ?
VO: Cool.
VO: So you work for YYYY and L1-B blanket.. cool..
Me: yes sir.
VO: Don’t worry. Everything will be alright. Don’t worry.
Me: Thank sir.
My wife was standing little far behind me and was looking after my son as he become crazy.
So VO told my wife while typing on his screen. : Madam come forward. Don’t be scared. There is a glass in between for your protection and we all had a laugh. :-)
VO: So whats your designation
Me: Software Engineer
Vo: Where are they sending you ?
Me: ZZZ
VO: How much they are offering you in US ?
Me: xxx
VO: Whats your specialization ?
Me: told in 1 line for 10-15 sec.
Again did something on his comp and kept on saying “Don’t worry. Everything will be alright. Don’t worry”
And finally he stamped my I - 129S with approved stamp for 3 years and handed over to me 2 copies, kept all 3 passport and 1 copy with him and said it will be delivered at your doorstep in 3-4 days.
Me; thanks and have a good day.
Hardly it was for 1-2 min.
My company is US based Product company with HQ in CA and with execellent reputation.
Don’t worry guys. I think most of the cases were approved. No need to panic or worry. Everything will be alright.

Could anyone please suggest what is the time duration for L1-B Individual Specialised Knowledge Visa time.it is true that once we submit our Docs to attorney, within a month we should get i797 form. if we didn't get what is procedure to get. Please share

SSN for L2 without EAD
Hi, I had been looking several websites,forums etc to apply SSN for L2 without EAD.But could find older posts and older entries. So thought of posting my exp.
I applied for SSN on oct 4 2012 and I got it on Oct 9 2012 ( through post)
Documents to take,
Completed and Signed by the applicant SSN form --( You can check the "Legal Alien allowed to work" )
Original marriage certificate (Your first name and last name should be correct ..)
Passports and I94
Take L1 (your spouse) along with you to the SSN office
Additional documents,
L1 petition (Never asked for me..but just take it )
Officer asked me to check the details on her system (my dob, name..etc..)
and finally told that I'll receive my SSN card through post within 5-10 business days.
SSN card will have "Valid for work only with DHS authorization"
