It was a good day for me and got my visa approved.

Vo: Asked about the documnets:
Me: I have submitted the L1B approved documnets
Almost all of the questions were simple
1) How long do you work in the current organization?
2) Who is your CGI manager and his Work Location?
3) Are you married?
4) How long do you want to stay in US?
5) Do you have any kids?
6) What is your company name?

Important questions for interview (L1B - Specialized Knowledge)
1. Specialization: This is most important that you are able to explain your specialization in crystal clear terms. This crucial minute makes/breaks the day for you. You should organize your thoughts & explain in best possible manner. No confused statements & half-baked thoughts. Be confident while you speak.
2. Earlier travel details (Specially B1): Explain that you went for valid business travel & didn't misuse the visa. Due to Infosys B1 case, they now look out for misuses by other companies.
3. Salary & Experience: They should justify your specialized skill set.
Please dress in business formal, you should be presentable. Don't wear casuals, VO might misjudge you.

all the time i was smiling and confident.
while entry in the consolate its self , i was very nervous but to keep cool i was smiling and chatting with people there. alone me there were guys from CTS, Capgemini, Mindtree. TCS, Infosys around 10 ppl. i was chatting with them all the time. though they were not willing to talk to me cos they were nervous. but i was relaxed that what ever happen ill take it as it comes.
so just be cool and confident

L1-A Visa interview on 16th March
I went for the L1-A Visa interview along with my husband and 2 year old kid.VO grilled me with lots of questions.
VO Good Morning Madam
A Good Morning Sir
VO How are you doing today?
A I am good. How about you?
VO Fine.Thank you
VO Which company you are working for?
Me: XX
VO Which state you will be working in?
Me: California
VO What will be your role?
Me; Manager and explained in 3-4 lines
VO How many people report to you?Onsite/Offshore
Me XX
VO How many times evaluation happens in your organization?
Me I couldn't understand. then he said how many times evaluation of employees happens
Me then I explained about the appraisal process
VO How many of the resoiurces reporting to you are your favorites?
Me 2 of them
VO WHY?
Me: becoz they work on First time right principle etc.
VO: Do you manage Managers?
Me: yes I do
VO: WHo ALL?
Me: I explained in 2-3 lines
VO: In executive meetings,whom do you meet mostly?CEO,CFO etc

My visa interview for L1A was on 13th Mar 2012.
Here is my Interview:
Me: Good Morning Mam…
VO: Good Morning.
VO: Please give me your passport and form I-797.
Me: Provided.
VO: Are you applying for L1 for Manager or Specialized Skills?
Me: Manager
VO: For ‘xxx’ company?
Me: Yes
VO: What is your role?
Me: Explained in brief covering entire information.
VO: Which type of projects are you going to handle?
Me: Explained type of projects.
VO: How many employees are working at “xxx” company?
Me: xx employees
VO: How many people will report to you?
Me: xx
VO: Tell me about their designation.
Me: Informed her one by one.
VO: Are you married or single?
Me: Married
VO: Is your husband going with you?
Me: No
VO: So, he will stay here only?
Me: yes
VO: Is there any relatives are staying in US?
Me: No
VO: How many total years of experience?
Me: 6 years and 9 months
VO: For how much duration you will be there in US?
Me: 3 years
After this conversion I heard the golden words that “Your visa is approved and you will get your passport within 2-3 working days” and she said “Have nice journey”.
Surprisingly, next day I received my passport without visa stamp with yellow handout stating that “Not in PIMS and Correction in expiry date” that was 221(g) administrative processing pending. My company’s attorney had contacted US consulate Mumbai as well as US. Next day morning, I received mail from Mumbai Non-immigration visa: stating that your administrative processing is completed and you Do Not required to come at consulate. Submit your passport, yellow pending letter, print of this mail to nearest VFS office.
Finally, I received my passport with proper visa stamping within 3 business days.
Vital points:
• Proper dressing
• Confidence and eye contact with VO.
• Short answer (approximately 60 to 90 seconds max.) with precise information.
