2. Have you been to the US earlier?
3. Did you have L1 earlier?
4. Your team size
5. How do you hire a new resource?
6. What is your total exp. and what is your managerial exp.?
7. Who has the authority to fire?
Your visa is approved!

L1A Approved at Chennai
ALL,

I have been going through the posts on this forum for the past 6 months. It has helped me a lot and I want to thank all who have posted their experience here.

I had previously gone for an L1A Blanket interview in October and got rejected. It was mainly due to a badly prepared petition with no team member designation in the org chart. My company applied for an L1A Individual and I had my interview last week.

This time it was a smooth sail. The VO asked only 3 questions:

What visa classification is yours? I said L1A
Where are you going? xxx, in yyy state
For which client are you going? ZZZ

After this came the sweet words - "your visa is approved and you will get your stamped passports in a week's time"

Good luck to all who have interviews lined up!

Rgds

L1B Visa Approved on 9th Febin Chennai
Thanks for this forum ,it helps a lot for get the confidence on Visa interview

One thing I would like to tell all the visa aspirants especially L1-B.

DONT GO WITH A MINDSET THAT YOUR VISA WILL BE DENIED JUST BECAUSE IT HAPPENED TO OTHERS.

L1-B visa is purely case by case basis and you cannot assure anything on the positive or negative side for sure based on previous cases.

Ok, here is my experience

My interview was scheduled for 9th Feb 7:30 am where i appeared in consulate an hour before. The crowd seems to be pretty high so be there at least an hour before.

Step 1: Keep your DS-160 form and interview letter ready which alone is required for you to receive a unique token number until you get a decision on your visa. All the proceedings inside will happen based on this number which is more or like a token number.

Step 2: Once you enter in your number based on current serving will appear in a monitor and then you have to provide you folder which contains the list of documents to the appropriate queue officer.

Step 3: Officer which you had dealt in Step 2 will provide you another counter number where you have to appear for your Fingerprint.

With all the above steps you will be completing your initial formalities and will be asked to proceed to next building (The destiny :) )

Step 4: you will be asked for your visa category and for L1 there is a separate queue where the DD's which you had brought along will be acquired.

Step 5: Then you will be entering a seating area where the VO's interview people based on the token numbers which appear outside their counters (Your number is something you got when you entered the consulate)

Be aware and watch the monitors all the time as the numbers appear were not in order and its random , So be aware as there are no audible voice systems to read out the number.

Finally my number appeared at counter 24 displays

VO'S Questions and My response.

VO: Hi how are you
Me: I am fine, thanks . How are you?
VO: I am good, Thank you.
VO: are you working through any vendor or direct working thorugh your company for client?
Me:i am working through my company ,no vendor.

VO: which place are you going to?
Me: San Jose California

VO: and the Client name?
Me: mention my client name.

VO: What is the requirement of you visiting US?
Me: As I am a Technical Specialist, for YYYY 2.0 Tool we have implemented webservices using my company tolls like ZZZt and ZZZ. I have been trained on YYYY and YYYY framework and have successfully implemented the phase 1, I am going to do integration with other existing system which will be YYYY based arch and involves heavy use of client application.

VO: How much is your Experience with current company?
Me: 6 years and 9 months
VO: How much is your Indian Salary?
Me: The salary you have mentioned in while filling your Visa Form.

O: Ok your visa is approved and will be couriered in 5 days.
Me: Thanks have a good day.

Good luck guys.

L1 B got approved today 9th March at Chennai Consulate
I reached at Chennai Consulate at morning 7.30 AM. Saw a huge line for the interview. Based on the reporting time, they start filling in people. Guys please make sure you carry "Interview Confermation" and "DS-160" confermation page handy.

After 15 mins they direct us to one window where a guy scans your appointment confirmation and provides a token number. After this you need to pass through security checks and few counters where they scan all papers and bundle the important ones which you need to carry to VO. Then you are directed towards finger print counter.

Once you are done with the above process, you get to go to next building for Interview.

Please watch the LCD screen to whether your token number is flashing.

After all this I went to VO officer and this is how it went.

VO: Good morning, How are you....?
Me: I am fine sir. Thanks for asking, How are you this morning?
VO: I am good.
VO: So you are from YYYY company hmm?
Me: Yes.

VO: So how much time you spent with this company?
Me: 1 Year, 10 months.

VO: how much total experience you have?
Me: 7 Years, 4 Months

VO: What you gonna do in US?
Me: My responsibility would be to Implement and Integrate my specialized knowledge skill which is "ZZZ" using my Company's Proprietary tools.

VO: ok and how customer would be benefited?
Me: At present they don't have this functionality in their environment. and being specialized into this I will give them the interface so that customer can be benefited.

VO: ok...have you gone through this ( he pointed me to some set of docs lying on his counter) ?
Me: Nope.

VO: This is the document which you should go through while you travel to US and please carry these I129 forms with you.....

and then came the Golden Words "Your Visa is approved and will be couriered to you in 4-5 days"

Me: Thanks a lot offier, you made my day....have a wonderful day ahead.
VO: you too.

Key Take Away:

1. Be confident what you say.
2. Talk with the VO by looking into his eyes.
3. If you dont know anything say clearly "NO".
4. Most imp....greet the officer upfront.
