L1B Visa Approved
Hi All, and thank u very much for sharing their experiences here. It is a gr8 site and it surely help u to get ur visa approved.
I had interview on 17 Feb.12 and my visa was approved. My interview was last for 2-3 minutes.
 VO : Gud morning.
Me : Gud Morning Mam.

VO : How r u ?
Me : I am fine.Thank u..

VO : So u r working for YYYY company?
Me : Yes.

VO: Where are u going in US?
Me: YYYY city and YYYY state.

VO : We r approving ur visa and have a safe journey...

I was shocked. with 2 to 3 questions only, how they approved my visa...

After that,
VO : Ur experience with current company?
Me : 1 year and 6 months.

VO : Ur total domain experience?
Me :3 years and 6 months

VO : Ok last one, please tell me ur specialization?
Me :I explained my specialization with 2-3 sentences only..

VO :Ur passport will come in week's time and submit 1 copy of Form 129 to HR and 1 copy carry with u when u traveled to US..
Me : Thank u very much and have a gr8 day ahead..

Give every answer in minimum sentences(2 or 3 sentences). Also tell ur specialization in 3 sentences only with gud words in it...Ur appearance and confidence increases ur possibility of visa approval...

Please do not worry about ur experience and current salary, both are weak in my case as my experience is only 1 year and 6 months and my CTC is 3.4 lacks/an.
It does not matter how much experience u have,it only matter which experience u have i.e. ur specialization...

L1 B Blanket Approved
We got our L1B Blanket approved on 6th March 2012 at the Chennai Consulate

Me my wife and my daughter attended the interview

The interview was at 8.30am, we were at the gates to collect the token by 8.10am.

We had the intial security check and we waited in the lobby. Got our documents verified and ten printed.

We were told to proceed to the adjacent building.

We had to pay the DD's. We waited for the token number to be displayed. We got the counter number displayed.

VO Started glancing thru the BEP Cover letter and started asking questions after looking at my passport and barcode reading, I believe he got the details on the screen.

Questions Asked.

VO: What will you do in the US?
ME: I couldn't hear it, i said pardon please

VO: What will you do in the US?
ME: Roles and responsibilities of the project

VO: I am sorry could you repeat please..
ME: Roles and responsibilities of the project

VO: So you are a mech engineer

ME: explained the procedure and tools.

VO: Who else is with you?
ME: My wife and my daughter

to my wife

VO: When did you get married?
MY Wife: YYYY YYYY XX said the date.

VO: You will recieve the passport in weeks time.

all,

the key is your confidence only. you need to be thorough with your documentation and the Letters provided by your company. Those are the key points that the officer is looking at.. Nervousness is always there but to overcome and perform is the key. after all said once you are in the US you have to face similar situations with your client right..

The whole process was done in less than an hours time.. The people are very friendly and helpful the smooth transition from one counter to another is the reson behind the constant flow of poeple.

L1B and L2 visa approved
Folks,

I attend my L1B and spouse's L2 visa interview today at the US Consulate in Chennai and got it approved. My experience in the interview is stated below:

Me : Good Morning
VO: Good Morning. So you are YYYY XX?
Me: Yes
VO: Which company are you working for?
Me: YYYY X
VO: How long are you with your company?
Me: XX years and YY months (longer the duration better is the impression you create in VO's minds)
At this time, VO started flipping my document package and asked:
VO: What is your specialized knowledge?
Me: Gave a short and precise description of my specialized knowledge by clearly explaining how I have used our company's proprietary methodologies, tools & techniques along with my specialized knowledge in our client project.
VO: Who is your client?
Me: YYYY
VO: Do you intend to go as a Manager?
Me: No.. it's a specialized knowledge I am carrying to on-site

At this point, VO typed something on her computer and there came the golden words.

VO: Your visa has been approved

Surprisingly there were no questions asked to my spouse.

Important Tip:

1. Greet the VO with a warm smile and a 'Good Morning/ Afternoon/ Evening'
2. Be polite but firm in your response
3. Give short and precise answers
4. Invoke your company's proprietary skills in your specialized knowledge
5. Do not beat around the bush. Be honest and upfront about your experience

Your stability in your company will be big plus in the minds of the VO. DO NOT panic about people getting rejected in front of you. Be confident and back yourself to do well. YOU WILL SAIL THROUGH with no issues.

Good Luck folks!

This was the first time I went for L1-B
VO asked me only four questions.
1) How much experience you have with present company.
Ans: I said 2.5 years exp with present company and overall 7.5.
2) Who you are going to work.
Ans: He only answered this question by saying xxxx you going to work ?
I said yes and added one more line.

3) What is your designation?
Ans: YYYY
4) What makes you specialist?
Ans: i stated talking about my domain expertise, application configuration along with company tools and processes experience .
The Visa officer was very rude guy and he did not convinced by my answer.
Please make sure you have some strong story to put across. and then your luck .

L1B Blanket approved at Chennai
Thanks for all people who has posted all their experiences which helped me in getting VISA..

I have attended L1B Blanket VISA interview on Feb 28th in Chennai Consulate....

My Total experence is 5 years & less than 2 years of exp in current organization , having specilation in one of the ETL tools.

The questions are below...

1) What is ur exp in current org ?
A) yy, mm & days...
2) Salary in India ?

3) Client name ?

4) Specilization ?
A) Here i have told about my domain knowledge rather than technical skills by adding more points on how it would add more value to Customer business with all business terms in Finance domain.
5) In Finance domain, you would find many people then why only you ?
A) I told it can be done by me only becoz i knew about various sectors/dept how they function and had understood so that i can only perform better.
6) Why not others from my team ?
A) Common Answer......

there were 2 guys whose L1B visa got approved before me who are from 1st & 2nd Indian IT companies....

My personal advice is , if your technology is like Java,J2EE,Oracle,Pl/Sql and other normal technologies...please talk about the domain/business and how the project will be helpful to customer with which they grow in their business.

Hope it will help you.....
