RFE User
Hi

If you get a RFE you have fair chances of getting the approval for petition unless they ask some confidential information which your employer would not be in a position to provide but this is a very rare case scenario. Generally for a RFE they ask additional information on your skills and qualifications which your attorney will be able to provide but it would only take a additional 2-3 weeks of turnaround time and there is maximum chances (99 percent) for getting the petition approved so no worries.

l1 visa rfe
I got rfe for l1b visa 3 weeks back and our company lawyer is going to respnd to it.
How much is the chance of approval of petition once we get the rfe? RfE is general questions about speciality skills and duties I will perform in US and justification for speciality skills.

L1B Approved at Hyderabad US Consulate
Hi All
A hearty thanks to immihelp for creating such a wonderful forum for visa aspirants and also a genuine thanks to all people who have posted their experiences too. These posts helped me a lot in grooming up my confidence to attend the interview and Im pretty sure that it will be highly beneficial to all the visa aspirants for all the days to come in future.

My experience for L1B interview went quite steady and cool. The details are as follows:-

My interview was scheduled at 9:15 AM and I reached the consulate at 8:20 AM in the morning. There was a long queue. At the gate the security will check your confirmation letter and passport and then will allow u inside. The gentleman at the first counter will take your BEP folder and will check the DD and will ask you to proceed for the next counter (Here please be careful of the border security fee DD if applicable. Some employers need this fee to be deposited and some don't so please check with you employer for the respective DDs wherever applicable). Then you will be asked to move to the next counter for finger prints. After this you will be getting a token number and you will have to wait for your interview in reference with the token number. There will be display boards with the token number and its respective interview window number and they will be announcing it as well so please be attentive at this point of time else you have chances to miss the display and the announcement as well.
Once you get your interview window number you need to proceed to the respective interview window that is assigned to ur token number. There will be 2-3 ppl standing before you for the interview so u can take a deep breadth and relax till your turn. I waited till my turn and finally the moment came

The following questions were asked to me by the Visa Officer (VO) sitting in the interview window.

Me: Good Morning Sir (With a whole hearted smile)
VO: Good Morning. How are you?
Me: Im doing fine sir. Thank You.. and what about you?
VO: Im doing gud. Thank you..
VO: How many years did you work for your company ZZZ?
Me: 3 years and 9 months
VO: How many years did you work for the client?
Me: 3 years
VO: What is your specialised skill
Me: Its a YYYY proprietory tool called YYY. It is used to arrive at a common platform of modular programming with reusable components using highly configurable files.....and I mentioned some more technical aspects of the tool.
VO: How is this tool used in your project?
Me: Explained that it is needed to design IVR interface and some more crisp points about it
VO: What is your qualification
Me: B.tech in Electronics and Telecommunications
VO: How is your qualification related to your skill? (This question was unexpected so just have a presence of mind at that moment to convince the VO)
Me: IVR uses voice user interfaces which helps in a interaction between a computer and a human by accepting speech and DTMF inputs along with a telephony configuration. This is related to telecommunications for which I hold a degree.
VO: From which university you did your Btech?
Me: KIIT University. Bhubaneswar
VO: Okay.. Are you going to work with the client?
Me: Yes
VO: Okay.. Who is your client and what do they do?
Me: AAA and its the largest health benefits company under the Blue Cross Blue Sheield Association in the US

Then was the most awaited moment of the day...
VO: Okay Im approving your VISA. You will be getting your passport within 5 days and he gave me back two stamped copies of I-129s forms
Me: Thank you Sir. U hav a good day...

Do's
1) Keep your cool at the time of interview. Confidence and LUCK are the driving factors here.
2) State crisp and clear points regarding your skills and stick to the point even if you feel its wrong
3)Wish the VO with a gud smile on your face and also carry a gentle smile on your face during the interview

Dont's
1) Dont discuss in small talks unless needed during the time you wait for your interview as you may miss your token number announcement.
2) Dont get nervous at the interview counter. This will not present you in a gud shape so take a deep breadth just the moment before your interview. This will keep nervousness away.

And yes of course u need a bit of LUCK to turn the day into your day. For this pray Almighty for his grace and yes if you get a chance please visit Chilkur Balaji temple. He will surely help you in getting your VISA stamped the same way he helped me today.

My Honest Advice: Please dont get disheartened if the VISA is not approved as this is not the end of the road. There are a lot of oppurtunities in here and you will live a satisfied and happy life in India as compared to the US and after all we all are here to make our INDIA better.

Thanks
Beeshwa

L1B - Approved
You should not take photo with your spectacles. They will ask you to take once again if you do like that and need to pay Rs. 100 for that.

Questions asked me…

How are you?
What will you do in US?
What kind of architecture it is?
Who is your client?
How long you are in this company?
How long you are in this project particularly?
Before that in which project?
Is it similar one?
How are you saying it is similar?

Stamped and signed on the form and told you have to carry this when you go to US. Passport will get in one week.

I feel self confidence is the main criteria to pass.

L1B Approved in Chennai - 9AM (29/03/2011)
The visa photo should be very good in clarity, otherwise they will ask us to take another photo next to the counter. The cost of the new photo is 100 /-.
In the interview,
1. Explain about your Project?
2. Why you, not others in Offshore?
3. Project start date, and Joining date in the company?
4. Name of the previous company

Thats all. I had given the convincing answers and at last the golden words, Approved.
Thank God.

Thanks
Chandru
