L1B approved on Mar16
Hi all
A great pleasure to share my experience on the portal that has helped so many to fulfill their dreams..

I had my interview on Mar 16

Questions were usual

Expereince with company ?
with client ?
ur purpose of visit?
specialization?
hw hve u gained that specialization?
hw much time it took to get the specialization?

I would not discuss much abt questions but would like to give some tips for folks going for L1 Blanket..

Specialization - Tell some unique skill/prog language which VO is not aware of..
Tip : select some new/upcoming prog language, a 4th generation language for example..
DONT say Java,COBOL etc..they will NOT accept

Many guys say Specialization abt TOOLS/company methodologies..i feel its a usual answer..say something unique/different.

Dress well (Tie will be more than usual)
Greet VO with big smile ( my wrk was half done here)
DONT get tensed ( i feel no reason to get tensed)

My inetreview was hardly for ONE minute..so DONT prepare brief answers...He will stop u any moment and ask the next question. So be attentive..Maintain eye contact ALL THE TIME..

Thats it frm ME..ALL THE BEST guys

3. How much overall experience you have and how much of that in present firm?
4. What is your specialization?

Blanket L1-B
Thanks immihelp for preparing for the interview. This is the first time I have applied for work permit.
Background : Earlier in march 2002,I went to US in B1 visa. Then same year my B1 visa got rejested 2 times.
Interview details : 14 March 9:30 am with my wife; Reached US consulate chennai at 9:05am. The security person asked me to stand in queue. the people standing there were very nervous and make the environment tense.
At the gate the VFS officer took the interview letter (DS-160 & Interview confirmation sheet). She gave back a token.

Next step : At the entry gate (separate for men and wormen) a indian security gaurd checked me by hand. Sorry to say i hate this type of body checks even at the airport. After that, I went inside & the security gaurd again checked all the folder i was carrying. Please dont carry any CD's , Pend drive etc.
The woman will come from separate entry and will meet you (if you are accompanied by spouse)
After we went inside we waited for the token number which comes on screen. To be very true that place is very hot with lot of people. They called my number and i went to one of the counter. At the counter they (VFS person) took the document and HDFC green receipt and asked me to move to next counter where an american was sitting. He took the finger print of all 10 finger for me and my wife. Then they asked us to move to separate building.
VFS guys are standing everywhere to help and guide.
In the next adjecent building VFS person told me to go to the cashier. I submitted the separate cheques as it was blanket L1-B.

Then the token was called for interview

Question 1: Why you are going there?
my answer : I work in YYYY X for 8 years. I am working in testing service in YYYY X tools team which we customize for customer. These tools need xxxx experince plus tools knowledge. As i am available for travel the company has asked me to travel
Question 2: Why you only?
Question 3: Have you ever worked in US?
My answer : No
answer : There tools need xxxx experience and specific tools knowledge which i am having.
Question To my wife : when you are married?
my wife : Date
Question To my wife:Do you work?
My wife : No

Visa officer : Ok your visa will be issues and you will receive in 7 working days

My answer : Thanks you... Have a nice day

I received the visa after three days but my wife visa there is an error. I have sent it back to VFS.
