HI All,
Thanks a lot to this site, which helped me a lot in preparation for the PA.
I had my interview at 07:45, reached the conculate at 07:00, joined the queue by 07:15.
This was the first day in Chennai they had introduced token system, so there was some chaos everywhere.
First I had my interview confirmation letter and appointment letter checked along with my passport and then a token number slip was attached to my passport.
Then I Had my security check and then enetered the consulate.
Next was to get my finger prints scanned, for this we had to go the coumter where our token number was displayed. went to my counter and got my fingers scanned and got my documents checked. The person at the counter asked me to go the next building and deposit my DD.
I went to the next building, and gave the DD to the lady there, she asked me to write my name and passport no. at the back of the DD.
After that I was aksed to wait till my token no. was displayed in any of the counters where the PA was going on. There were counters from 17 - 23 and in each counter there was a display showing the token nos who will be interviewd in that counter and the ppl with those token no.s where asked to stand in that particular queue.
My token no. was not dsipalyed on any of the counters and I was asked to sit and just check if I my token no appears in any of the counters.
One counter was closed and did not have VO there. After 10 mins mine and one more guys token nos. appeared in that counter and VO came there.
The other guy was called first, since his toekn no was previous to mine. He got his visa approved and I was called next.
me : Good Morning Mam,
VO : Did not reply and asked to place my right middle finger on the scanner present there.I had some difficulty in hearing her, so asked her to repeat it. Then I placed my finger on the scanner.
Then she asked for my document
Me: Passed the documents
VO: How many years of experience do u have ?
Me: X years and Y Months
VO: all with same XYX company?
Me: yes Mam
VO: How long you have been working with this client
Me: XY Months
VO: What do you do for this client?
Me: Explained my responsibilities
VO: Whats your specialisation?
Me: XYZ
VO: how long you have been using this?
Me: More than XY years
VO: explain me abt it
Me: I explained what it is and how it is used in my project.
Then after a pause I tried continuing to say more abt it, but VO interrupted saying "We are done". After that she signed two copies of my I-129 and returned it along with my i-797 copies.
I was a bit nervous, but explained abt my specialisation with confidence. Try to be calm and wait till the PA completes the question. If you are not clear with the question , ask her to repeat the question.

First let me tell thanks all for sharing their info in this site and really thanks alot for the site modirator for doing all...
My inverview was as followed on 8th nov hyd consulate..
My appointment was at 9:45AM.but due to bad weather i have reached security gate at 8:05AM only...i was stood in the line..It was very cool and no need to worry about the process. Every where their will be the security to assist us all time....First they checked my appointment letter by seeing the passport and passed me to BEP counter..their I have wished her and she told very politely very good morning and after that she handed over me few docs those not required to have in RED folder.and put necessaru docs in the RED folder...After that she told me the gate # to enter inside...there security checked everything about wallet,belt,pockets..and they told to go ahead to submitt the DD for L1B.Their also he wished very politely and took my DD and gave the customer copy as I paid the DD to him.After this i was asked to stood in line to give the finger prints..here we should we shud very careful about our fingers not have any scraches bla bla..infront of me one fellow was asked to come back after later next week due to not allowing/accepting to have his finger prints.
After this is done, I was asked to get the token number and I got ...that time the time was 8:55AM and asked me to wait till my tern..clearly there was the display on monitor with token number along with the counter number.
I have waited around 1hour to get my counter number ...
Then one fellow came told me to stand in front of that counter..Before me one guy was rejected saying bla bla reason and next he waived his (VO) hand to come..I went and told good morning.he took few seconds and told very good morning..next asked me to handover my RED folder..I gave to him and next started asking the below quetions
1) Why you are going to US?
2) What is your specilized knowledge??
3) Why only you..why not others from your team?
thats it when I was in the middle of third answer he told me to stop and said your visa as approved sir and you will be received PP with in max 7 working days and gave two firms saying VISA starting & ending date...
This was my appearence and went very cool..One thing I can tell be active and maintain eye contact always while you are doing inverview..
I am telling again It will be very cool and not that much how we are expecting...and he will always try to approve as he/she is not our e

L1 Blanket Visa Approved
Firt of all thanks to immihelp and the guys shared thier experiences. It helped me a lot.I am frm one of top MNC company start with "C" :-) My PAI slot time was 7.45 Am. I have reached around 7.20 AM. Then there were too many security check before the paper validation. I have submitted my bank draft and passport for validation. i Have cleared all of these validation and went to anther builing for INterview. Finally i got a chance to talk with VO for VISA
VO: Who is yu client ?
Me: YYYY YYYY YYYY company
VO: YYYY ?
Me: Yes. It is an explained about the cmpany backrund in brief
VO: OK. What is your specialization skill ?

Me : My project is namely Call Resolution at the earliest which is about an agent who tries his best to answer the customer calls and has to resolve the customer issue in the 1st call itself and achieve the maximum customer satisfaction.
VO : What is your role in this project?
Me : I am involved in designing and implementing Business Intelligence solution for my client abc by developing interactive grid reports and dashboards.
VO : This seems to be your daily job. What are you specialised for?
Me : (I was almost cold with this question. Did not have much hope that it would get approved. Continued to maintain eye contact with the VO and expained again in the best possible ans) I expained that I have the banking domain knowledge and have been providing BI solutions from 4 years and 4 months. I have in depth Application, domain and technical knowledge to implement this project and so I am specialised.
VO seemed to be little convinced and she started signing I 129.
She stared into my eyes and was suggesting me to leave. However I was still not sure if it was approved or not. Later VO said "Its done". I was on the top of the world.
Left the consulate and was jumping outside.
My advice would be to always try to maintain eye contact with the VO. Dont feel shy to explain in detail if required. You may not be so confident but try to improve your english and feel free to talk to them. Communication should be flawless.
I am sure it will get approved.

L1A visa - passport from different consulate region
As I was deputed to Kolkata, attended PA there. As my passport contains chennai address,I was bit afraid,filled each & every details in the application very carefully. Prepared a lot for the interview and went with a manager look and Tie. But the interview was smooth.
VO: Hello.. (with a smile)
Me: Hello,Goodmorning! (with a smile)
VO: Where you are travelling?
Me: xxxx City, CA.
VO: How long you have been to UK?
Me: 6months.
(VO faced some computer issues while uploading my details.)
VO: There are some computer problems, pls give me a minute.
Me: It's Ok.
VO: ..... Yep, now it's working fine.
VO: Do you have the deputation letter?
Me: Yes, please... (I gave the letter)
VO: Ok.. (returned back)
VO: Is your family not coming with you?
Me: As my kid is small,they will join me later.
Then comes the Golden words,
VO: Ok,your visa is approved.
Me: Thank you!!(I felt, flying in the air...)
He returned back all my papers except passport.
Suggestion: Be very clear in filling the details in PRD and DS160. Expect that all the possible questions / proofs might be asked and be ready accordingly. Then you will be confident.
