Hi every one,
Interview date: 18th October 2010.
Interview schedule: 08:30 am
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 Interview Location: US Consulate Mumbai
The most important day in the life of software professional travelling to onsite is the first VISA interview day. For me it all started at 04:45 am. I was up and ready for the battle by 06:30 am. I prayed to the Almighty to make me sail through this interview. I checked all the documents to be carried to the consulate once again and left my house at 07:15 am. My brother had come along with me and he dropped me at the consulate. I was standing in the queue outside the consulate at 07:45 am. I entered the consulate at 07:50am and was done with security check by 08:00 am. After that I was standing in the queue for my DD submission and finger print scan i.e. biometry. At 08:20 am I was given the Pink token number 228 according to which everyone was called for the Interview.

The time after you are given the token and till the interview done is the toughest time in the consulate. Because it is the duration in which you will always have negative thoughts. This is because if more people VISA are rejected and then you will have cold feet and sweaty palm and you will have the feeling that you our VISA is also bound to be rejected. On the other end is more people VISA are getting approved than you will have the feeling that “Am I also lucky enough to get VISA? “. The best thing to be done is to occupy yourself with something like reading the entire petition cover to cover.

In my case it took 1:15 minutes before the silver words were spoken “Token number 228 ,229,230,231,232 please move to counter number 15” . I was standing outside for my token to be called by the VISA Officer as she was interviewing some lady for L2 VISA. The lady came out with a smile over her face and I entered in for the interview. I Prayed to the almighty one final time before the interview “It is too you that I ask for help and No one else”.

VO was a vibrant and beautiful lady. I didn’t fall for her looks but thought that beauty and brain can be very dangerous for me? So my nervous system was put on full alert mode.
VO: Good Morning. Myself: Very Good Morning Madam. (My Voice was very low so I corrected Myself in the next Question)
Note: Always make use of this conversation to adjust your Volume Control for the Interview. Many interview mishaps occurs if there is some problem with communication skill or you are not audible.
VO: So you work for ABC Company? (My Company ID card was visible to her) Myself: Yes madam, I am working for ABC Company since last 3 yrs and 3 months. (Please provide more information so that the number of question asked by VO will be less)
VO: For which client do you work? Myself: I develop software solution for XYZ Client.
VO: How much experience you have with the Client? Myself: I have spent 1 year and 2 month with the XYZ Client.
VO: You have applied for LIB VISA so what specialization you have? Myself: I have 3 years and 3 months of experience in Banking and financial services and I have worked on wide variety of financial services like Credit cards, Credit rating and bureau, Stock Market.( No tools and not a single word about technology)
VO: So you are a financial Services Software Expert? Myself: Yes Madam.

( I never thought that i am a Financial Services Software Expert but luckily she thought of that )

VO: What is the location you will be working from? Myself: Newark Delaware
VO: Are you married? Myself: No madam.
VO: Is this the first time you are travelling? Myself: Yes madam.
Then she picked up the stamp and punched it on my I-129 form and said your VISA is approved.

To get your VISA you have to be confident, clear in communication and be dressed up nice for the interview.
I am sitting on a comfortable chair at JFK Airport New York waiting for my flight to Philadelphia. I take this opportunity to thank all those people who have shared their experience on immihelp.com. I also thank Google for prompting immihelp.com as the first site whenever you query “L1B visa interview question”.

All the best for your VISA Interview.God bless

I've submitted the VFS application form Oct 1st itself and still waiting for the interview date. Got a reply from my company's immi team saying the US Consulate calendar is temporarily shut and we have no dates open for appointment booking.

I need an detailed information regarding this from the experts out there. And any idea when i'll get the date. Also i am hearing from people that in the month of decmeber visa processing will be slow and minimal.

Thanks in advance.

Hi All,

I had my interview today for 5 mins. Following were Qs asked:

1. How long your working for ZZZ
2. What is your role in US?
3. Why you need to be in US to manage the team.
4. Your day to day activities?
5. Details on your subordinates

There are few more employer related questions. From what I understand its IMP to let them know why you only require to travel to US and no one else can.

Be prepared for that well and dont memorize anything rather a answer in flow would be better. Also, make sure your petition details as much your unique knowledge.

All the best.

Hi All,

My L1B is approved. The process is very simple.
All you have to do is be little confident in your answers and a little preparation on questions that would be asked.

They asked me just three questions and the interview didn't last more than a minute.

1. Who is your client
2. Which place you are going
3. Total experience in current project

Thanks to the lord.

Need help on L2
Hi All

I have filed for an L2 application for myself. The trouble is that the confirmation code on the DS160 printed wrongly with an L showing as I on the printout. I tried getting an appointment with this and was successful but later realised that this was a misprint. I have already cancelled my appointment once so cannot reschedule it again. Does anyone have any experience on this as to whether it can create any trouble for stamping as the visa appointment letter says I instead of L.

Kindly advice.

Thanks!
