Request to All the people who are going to post visa Experiences
Dear All,

I have been going through this L1 forum for quite some time.

I really appreciate the fact that, some of the people who got their L1 Visa's approved are taking some time to post their experiences.

I personally feel that there is no need conceal or hide you answers. Your company/client details can be hidden, but to the future aspirants, your ANSWERS are very valuable and make their preparation more efficient. Its not that one cannot prepare their own answers, Your answers can make a difference in one's prep for the actual interview.

So, I request all the people who are going to post their experinces, please take few more minutes to type your answers.

Thanks everyone.

Vamsi.

L1 Visa interview chennai Sept 22 2010
Hi everyone,

I thought it will be helpful for others if i post this.
My L1b visa interview was on Sept 22 2010.

These are my questions

1) what is that you do in india ( hes asking in an indirect way whats my job)
2) Why you are travelling?
3) Why you are selected ,why not others?
4) Why you have to do this from US,why not from india?
5) Current Salary

I read in this forum about the fat lady who rejects a lot of people. Its true i saw her rejecting a lot.But if you are not nervous and give the right answers she is approving also.
So its not that your chances are nil.

Most improtatnt thing is to be cool and calm and be loud in what you answering in good confidence.
Never lie to them. They will find it out.

L1B Approved @ HYD Cons
First of all I would like to thank the immihelp team and all those who have shared their experience here.

By God's grace my L1-B visa got approved on 22nd Sep 2010(8AM batch).

Only two questions was asked to me:
1.What u gonna do in US?
2.Who is your Client?

I had practised my answers for all the possible questions, but may be due to god's grace, VO didn't ask any questions at all.
Thats it. Visas got approved. Thanks to all previous posts in this forum.

Tip: please go in formals and wear a broad smile with confidence!!!

All the very best folks!!!

L1-B/L2-B Extension: Approved at hyd consulate
Thanks to this site and all the people who posted their experiences here. That helped me alot. I will start off with VO questions before describing my unique situation:
======
Our experience at the embassay started off in a bad taste.. The girl (Indian)at the document check center was so rude with us.. Her complaint was that we submitted more documents than required and she was really pissed about it.. She kept throwing (literally) unwanted documents at the window..

I became so nervous because of this.. By the time I was in line for finger prints, I was fumbling with everything and really nervous.. Fortuanately, we were asked to wait for some more time before attending the actual interview.. I could relax and get that nasty girl out of my mind..
====

VO: Why do you want to go to US?
ME: To work on ..... ... ..
VO: How long are you with ....?
ME: 5 years 9 months
VO: Why are you so special?
ME: blah blah (tecnical details from the supporting letters)
VO: Where are you going?
ME: ....
VO: Did you say you are with this employer for 1 year?
ME: No sir, I am with this employer for 5.9 months (3.7 in us and 2.2 in india)
VO to my wife..
VO: How long have you been married
WFY: blah blah...

And he looks into the computer for some time and then pulls out the blue form "221(g)" and says "Sir your details are not yet updated in the PIMS data base. Usually, it takes 24-48 hours to udpate and then you will get your VISAs after a week". VO kept our applications and passport with him..

We were totally clueless about this "PIMS" update. Later on I found out that it is fairly common for L/H extensions to have this issue.

I attended the interview on Wednesday. After couple of days of nervous wait, we received our passports with VISAs on Monday. I was almost thinking about cancelling my return tickets and extending my stay here when I got the passports.. Pleasenly surprised and thankful!!

My word of advise to others is:

--> Be confident and have a smile on your face.. On one of my earlier interviews at chennai head of chennai US consulate came to the interview center and said that "If you are nervous, then that is an indication of cheating for us".. Being confident is most important

-> Prepare short answers and present only the facts.. They are usually smart enough to see through the lies

Good luck with your stuff!!!
