OCI: Change in Acknowledgement date
Hi,
I have applied OCI for my newborn from Chicago ckgs and had got acknowledged in the government website on June 13th with Document printing status as "Under-Process". Last Saturday, when I checked the Govt website, the acknowledgement date now shows as Jul 03. with the printing status as "Under Process" !
Did any one face this issue ? What should I do now ?

OCI - New
Do they still need original US passport for new OCI ? Why do they need original US passport when they don't have to stick anything to the US passport. They don't put "U" visa sticker on US passport anymore.
I got my kids OCI in lieu of PIO at NY CGI, and to my surprise they issues OCI same day they received the application. CKGS appears to be main bottleneck, they take longer than actual consulate.
June 26 - Mailed applications
June 27 - CKGS received it
June 28 - CKGS verified it
June 30 - CKGS delivered to NY CGI
June 30 - Applications acknowledged and OCI issued at NY CGI
July 3 - CKGS picked up OCI and cancelled PIO
July 6 - CKGS mailed OCI and cancelled PIO
July 7 - Received OCI and cancelled PIO
I was on the fence for almost 2 years whether to get OCI in lieu PIO for minors and OCI has a requirement that you get reissued OCI every time kids get new passport till they are age of 20, finally decided that let's do it. I am not planning to get OCI reissued every time kids get new passport for sure. Maybe will get it reissued once they are 20, as by then their appearance may have changed a lot.

Karnataka OCI admission CET and NEET
I am a parent of a OCI student, who have been studying in Bangalore for the past 9 years. My daughter completed 12th standard this year and we had to file a petition to get her to write CET this year.
Today, Karnataka High Court is expected to give its verdict on admitting OCI students to Karnataka Engineering and medical colleges. Ministry of External Affairs has given an affidavit to Karnataka Government asking OCI students to be treated on par with Indian Citizens.
We have been working with our lawyer, and he states that the verdicts may tilt towards clubbing OCI students for NRI quota, without considering 7 years or more of their education in Karnataka, which may result in depriving OCI students in Karnataka seats in Government Engineering and Medical colleges in Karnataka.
This decision is not in OCI students favor. A group of OCI students’ parents plan to move to Supreme Court to get a stay order on this decision. This will not only help this years OCI students admission but will also pave way for the subsequent years OCI students to secure seats in Government medical and Engineering colleges in Karnataka.
If you are in the same situation as us (Karnataka OCI students studying in Karnataka for 7 years or more) I urge you to join us on this petition to Supreme Court as it will give us a collective strength in front of Supreme court. please reply with your contact information, if you would like to join us in this petition.

Apply OCI card in india with only Mother
Hi, i am working on H1B Visa and i am planning send my family members to india for 5 to 6 months and we have applied entry visa for 1 Year got in 1 week through CKGS, now once we go to india planning apply OCI card for my baby to stay there may be more than 6 months and i am in USA and my baby and spouse in india, so to apply OCI card both parents should be india?, or only spouse passport is enough to apply OCI card, please let me know your experience, Thanks.

Missing Application Form Document - OCI for Minor
Hi,
Did any one face Missing Application Documents when sending over the required documents to CKG's NY? I diligently triple checked, ensure that all the documents that they requested in the checklist was in the fedex courier that was sent to their NYC office and now they emailed me stating Application Form is missing. Seems they had manhandled the documents in the fedex envelope and lost it. Their process seems to be a complete mess up and i am thinking the people working there are on high weed or they purposefully wanted to mess up the process. I was not able to reach any homo-sapien over phone at their office . Can anyone help how to resolve this issue?

Did I make error?
I initiated my OCI card application at the Govt. of India website without visiting CKGS website at all. I did receive a temporary application number as well as a file number (starting with 'USA'). The application was initiated on April 22, 2017. However, subsequently no communication has been received nor do any of the tracking systems pull up my application at all.
Is it safe to conclude that I erred in starting the application at the Government website? I should have started it at the CKGS website, right?
Should I start over again or is there a way to continue?

Time taken for passport renewal/reissue along with Name Split(First and Last Name)
Below is the processing time taken by Indian Consulate to approve my re-issue my passport along with Name Split - Read from below. Average time taken for only passport reissue or renewal is 2 weeks, however, it took a week more for me as I wanted my name to split

Hi all,
Is anyone running into the same issue as I am?
I am trying to put in a new OCI application for my child and the site keeps going in circles.
The sequence is as below.
1. http://passport.gov.in/oci/capchaAction -- enter captcha
2. http://passport.gov.in/oci/capchaCheck -- click fresh application
3. http://passport.gov.in/oci/submitAppDetails -- Click Here To Proceed
4. http://passport.gov.in/oci/welcome -- Click the New OCI Registration -- this brings me back to step 1.
It keeps going in circles at this point.
I tried all the regular things like using different browsers, clearing cache, using Incognito mode.
Have also tried multiple machines.
Any ideas are much appreciated.
