OCI Stamping : question
I have sent in my Canadian passport for OCI stamping to Vancouver Consulate on Sept 24 (they never notified me to submit my passport, all the OCI documents have been sitting at the Consulate for almost a month now. Not sure why there was no communication sent to me.Anyway I followed up with the Consul General via email, and was informed to submit passport for stamping). Mine is a PIO to OCI conversion situation.
As of Oct 1 I will have less than 6 months validity on my passport. Can they refuse to put the OCI stamp for this reason? or, since I sent it to them when it had more than 6 months validity there will not be an issue. If anyone has been in this situation, I would really appreciate your input.
BLS mentioned that the stamping is taking 3+ weeks at Vancouver Consulate. Has that been the experience?
THANK YOU! Appreciate it!

Renunciation Problems - OCI Card
I sent my OCI and Renunciation applications together. When I talked to CKGS Call Center few weeks ago, they said that I need to send in $250 Penalty for Renunciation. I sent the total amount of $600 together for my OCI and Renunciation.

1. When I checked why my renunciation is not updated, they told me that I don’t qualify for Renunciation. I was an Indian Citizen and sent a photocopy of my Indian Passport. So, why am I not qualified for Renunciation?

2. If I don’t qualify for Renunciation, why was my OCI application processed at CKGS? Is not Renunciation required for OCI?

Will I receive the OCI Card without Renunciation. I went to India in 2009 and I think I applied for Renunciation back then but I don’t remember and neither do I have a copy of that certificate.

So, again, why was my OCI application processed at CKGS Application Center at Houston without Renunciation and why was I told that I need to pay a penalty of $250 for Renunciation when I first talked to your office call center?

The above was part of the email I sent to CKGS. I dont know if my OCI card will be processed properly or not. I am very worried.

Return of old US passport by CKGS after OCI transfer
I applied for a transfer of the OCI U Visa from my son's expired US passport to his new US passport. As part of the application, I was required to submit his original old US passport.

When I got back the documents today from CKGS (San Francisco) after document match up, I only got back the new US passport (with the new U Visa sticker), as well as the new OCI booklet.

My understanding is that I will still back the old US passport from CKGS. Is that sent back separately ? I do understand the the old OCI booklet is kept by the consulate, but they should be returning the old US passport, as it may contain other visas.

Would appreciate any guidance on this.

Thanks,
Vivek

Son's OCI Received Within Stipulated Time: Houston
Our experience with CKGS & Houston consulate has been very smooth and received the OCI card on 09/14/2015 and our intended travel date is early next month. I actually didn't wait for OCI match-up email and shipped my son's US Passport 4 days after it was updated that OCI card has been dispatched from Delhi in Govt website http://www.passport.gov.in/oci/statusEnqury. I purchased FedEx voucher from CKGS, but you may opt for USPS as less expensive option as well.

OCI delayed by more than 70 days, San Francisco
We have applied for OCI for my daughter at San Francisco consulate through CKGS. She already had PIO with lifetime validity, we applied for OCI as they are encouraging to apply OCI because of new rule change

Application has been sent to New Delhi on 02 JULY 2015, after that no update. It' still showing Under Process, now it’s more than 70 days (beyond 60 days processing time)

On CKGS website it's showing following status

07/02/2015: Your application from the Embassy / Consulate has now been sent to Delhi, India for further securitization and processing. Please continue tracking your application status online.
06/29/2015: Your Application is 'Under Process' at the Embassy / Consulate. Please continue tracking your application status online.
06/26/2015: Your application has been processed at the CKGS Application Centre and is in transit to the Indian Embassy/Consulate for decision making.
06/24/2015: We have received your payment and we are verifying the same. If the payment made is complete, you will receive a payment receipt shortly.

On Government website, status is showing "UNDER-PROCESS"

Tried calling/emailing CKGS, but they don’t have any further information. They are dependent on feed from Embassy. They have only one response "WAIT".

Visited Indian Consulate, San Francisco website, don't see any contact information, where I can talk with concern person on delay or any tentative date.

I have posted web query to OCI Counsel, but no response till now. Even they have provided 2 phone number to contact, virtually it's of no use, need to keep on waiting then gets disconnected

Can anyone please suggest direction, how to connect with Consulate to get the OCI Status.

Your help will be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Nit

I have applied OCI card for my son to San Francisco office. It's in process but now due client change I have to travel Dallas Texas from Neavda. Now is there any process to change address to my new location or I have to re-apply to Houston Texas consulate office by cancelling this application.

Anybody got into this situation ? Please help or advise on this?
There is no link or info on this if address changed during OCI application to different place which comes under different jurisdiction or consulate.
