Feb 21 2023 - Dispatched From MEA NEW DELHI(OCI)
Feb 27 2023 - Your Application has been reviewed by the Embassy of India/ Consulate General of India & will be dispatched using the courier service you had opted.
Feb 28 2023 - Fedex Delivered OCI. OCI in hand.

It took 2 months of Processing in this case, even though there were no documents we had to resend for correction.

My OCI application has been rejected by HCI staff on the ground that "OCI CAN BE ISSUED ONLY IF GRANDPARENTS / PARENTS WERE BORN AFTER 1950".
Has anybody encountered rejection of an OCI application on such grounds?
I believe, after an extensive research on the subject, I don't think I have come across such a criteria.
I would appreciate comments on this subject.

UPDATE:
Mar 10 2023 - Document received at San Francisco!! VFS updated that FedEx delivery has been initiated and OCI card on the way to me!
Mar 13 2023 - OCI card in hand!!

06-02-2023-got email by vfs Received,but unable to proceed due to missing documents (last two pages of lease agreement)
06-02-2023 sent missing documents by FedEx
09-02-2023 - processed at the VFS ' in - Transit ' to the embassy
   After that I didn't get any information e- mail from them.if anyone explain how many days take to get acknowledg from indian embassy....

Hello if anyone explain when will you get acknowledgemant message?

Jan 13 - sent to vfs Houston
Jan 20 - reached Indian mission
Feb 10 - reached back to vfs Houston
Feb 14 - got OCI in hand

 Have tried reaching out to vfs and OCI help desk India but it takes at least a month .

My 7 yr daughter got new passport and submitted online to update OCI card with new passport details under gratis service. They acknowledged my application on Dec 16th and still it says "has been received and it is under consideration". More than 4 weeks now and we have already booked trip to India on 1st week of Feb. Tried Contacting indian consulate office at Chicago but no one is answering my call. What should we do if we didn't receive acknowledgement email? How long will it take to update this info in their system? I have searched and may have to apply for evisa option for 30 days as backup, if do then how early do we have to apply? Do they ask from what is the date of travel and give 30 days visa from that date of flying?

Any experiences/suggestions really appreciate it.

Dec 16, 2022 - We have "Received" your Application however we are unable to proceed with the application due to the following reasons- Missing Last two pages for Indian PAssport
Dec 21, 2022 - Sent Response via online
Dec 22, 2022 - Received’ your Application, and your application is now ‘Under Process’ at Atlanta and will be submitted to the Mission for decision making.
Dec 23, 2022 - Your Application has been ‘Processed’ at the VFS India Consular application Centre and currently is ‘In-Transit‘ to the Embassy of India/Consulate General of India for decision-making.
DEC 27, 2022 - VFS reached for the missing document and emailed the missing document the same day to the email they provided
Jan 17, 2023 - Your Application has been reviewed by the Embassy of India/ Consulate General of India & will be dispatched using the courier service you had opted.
Jan 17, 2023 - Your document (s) is dispatched
Jan 17, 2023 - FedEx picked up the package
Jan 18, 2023 - OCI in hand

I paid for the OCI registration and courier labels for fedex via VFS on 1/16/2023. But cant download the label. I have already asked for help at VFS. but the problem still persists. Hope it is resolved soon. If not, I will mail the application using my own label. I have cleared cache and changed browsers, still unable to download labels.
