Tax transcripts???
Hi everyone. I’ve seen lots of people post about obtaining tax transcripts for their naturalization interviews. My husband’s interview notice did not reference bringing tax transcripts. I wanted to ask if this is something people bring proactively, or do certain people actually have them requested in their interview notice?

Biometric for N-400
Hello friends,
I applied for N-400 on the first week of May 2020 but still have not received any update on biometric. Is it normal ? I heard that they are using previous biometric they have on file. But they haven’t used mine yet. Is there anyone else in the same situation?
Please share your experience
Thank You

N400 Interview Completed!
Date Submitted 08/14/2019
Biometric App 08/17/2019
Interview Date 09/22/2020

Passed 😃!
My appointment was at 8:45 am at the federal plaza on the 9th floor. I arrived on time but the line to get in was extremely long. I entered the building after 9 am. Went to the 9th floor and was then told to go to the 4th floor. I checked in with an officer and sat for 10 mins and was then called for my interview. The officer was exceptionally nice. After entering his office, I was sworn in and my fingerprints were taken. He asked me to confirm my name, DOB, address and inquired about other names used. Went through some of my paperwork, corrected the name of my college b/c it was incorrectly spelled.

Next was the civics test.
Civics questions
What stops one branch of government from becoming too powerful?
How many amendments does the Constitution have?
What does the President’s Cabinet do?
What is the highest court in the United States?
What is one reason colonists came to America?
There were 13 original states. Name three.

Reading: Where does the president live?

Writing: The president lives in the White House.

He then went back to my paperwork and inquired about my marriage, asked if I were still married, what does my husband do and the name of the company he worked for. He then asked if I had any proof we were still married. I told him I didn’t have anything on me to prove I was still married. He said, not a problem. Then I remembered I brought transcripts of our taxes which were filed jointly. He took them, and said it will do. He asked if we paid our taxes every year and inquired about any refund I received for school. Just told him I get $200 from financial aid, which is the amount I get per semester. He also asked what I’m studying and how long I’ve been in school.

He then went over the yes and no questions every applicant has to answer and the interview was completed. He congratulated me and told me what will happen next. Because I’m so eager to vote, he issued me my oath letter the very same day.
My oath ceremony is scheduled for 10/30/2020.

I’m so glad this process is almost over and I wish everyone the very best with their future interview.

I filed for divorce
I’ve had my green since 09/2015 ( 2 of those years being conditional). I filed for divorced in June 2020 after being separated from my husband for three years (we tried but just couldn’t get it together).

Can I still file for my citizenship?
Do I need a divorce lawyer to protect my residency?
Please share your experience or price advice.

Thank you in advance:-)

N400 Interview and Oath completed same day (Durham NC Field Office)
Hello everyone,

I am sharing my experience as a moral duty because I read a couple of comments here while I was anxiously waiting through the progress of my application. Below is my timeline:
April 30 - Application submitted & received online
August 7 - Notice that my Biometrix on file would be reused (personally, I feel this is just another way for USCIS to save some money as part of their strategy not to furlough their employees)
August 11 - Interview scheduled for Sept 18
Sept 18 - Interview day. (Durham NC Field Office, which is about 5 miles away)

The agent that checked us in for the interview was working remotely. A tablet was placed at the counter and the officer told me the interview room number assigned for my case. In the interview room, another tablet was placed on the table and the IO was also working remotely. When I got in, he asked politely that I spare him about 10 minutes so he could review my application and he turned off the camera. About 5 mins later, he re-appeared and asked me to take an oath that I will say nothing but the truth.

He verified my full name, DOB, address, and occupation. Then went straight to the civics and English test. I got the first 6 civic questions and we moved on to the English test. The questions he asked were;
1. What is the name of the VP
2. What are the 2 ways a citizen can participate in governance
3. The house of rep has how many members
4. What month is the presidential election
5. What are the first 10 amendments called
6. What is Susan (can't remember her last name 🤔) known for?

The English test was crazy easy. The IO asked me to read 'Columbus day is on Monday', and printed out a form and asked me to write 'Columbus day is in October'.

After the tests, he proceeded to ask all those 'NO' and 'YES' questions. After that, he told me he has approved my application, and he congratulated me. He printed the results and the oath of allegiance form.

The whole interview took 15 minutes, and I went to the ceremony room to take my oath, which took about 15 minutes also because I had to wait for the certificate to be printed and also fill a 1-page form. I was given a package that contained a voter registration form; passport form; the constitution; a pamphlet on voter education; and a letter for the White House.
The interview was the easiest interview I can recall having, especially after being so anxious for so long.

I want anyone that has his/her application pending that it is all a matter of time, and that as long as you don't have any complicated issues, your citizenship is guaranteed. Don't bother yourself, just know that it will happen at the appointed time. Your God is in control.

OK to bring kids to oath taking - Jacksonville office
Hi everyone,

My spouse and I will have our oath taking this coming Friday, same time, Jacksonville office. Is it okay to bring our kids to the ceremony? One toddler and one below 10 y/o. We called the Jacksonville USCIS office but the person we spoke with said we can try but is uncertain about the outcome, if the officer will allow it.

Thank you.
