HEROES Act accommodations for naturalization oath ceremonies
A bill introduced by house Democrats has outlined provisions for enabling remote naturalization ceremonies -- see page 1734 onwards, here: https://docs.house.gov/billsthisweek/20200511/BILLS-116hr6800ih.pdf

Note that this bill -- which is primarily about additional funding to help people affected by COVID-19 -- is unlikely to clear the senate (see: https://www.washingtonpost.com/us-policy/2020/05/12/house-democrats-coronavirus-3-trillion/). Still, it's nice to see what a possible solution might look like!

Update to ASC Appointments and Rescheduling
USCIS updated the Application Support Center (ASC) Appointments and Rescheduling section of their response to Covid-19. This will probably help some of us who had biometrics appointments scheduled. (Now I'm wishing I didn't change my name.)

While biometric services (or other authorized collection sites) are temporarily suspended and/or operations are at reduced capacity, USCIS will reuse biometrics that were previously captured at the initial USCIS in-person appointment under certain circumstances and only when specific requirements are met. USCIS will reuse biometrics if:

- USCIS is otherwise ready to adjudicate the open application, petition, or benefit request but cannot proceed solely due to the lack of current biometrics;

- The individual previously submitted fingerprints and a photograph at an ASC (or other authorized collection site);

- There is an exact A-file number, name, and date of birth match between the pending filing and the previous filing from which the biometrics were collected; and the individual:

--- Was scheduled for an ASC appointment that was canceled since the temporary closure of ASCs on March 18, 2020,

--- Is unable to schedule an ASC appointment (or appointment for biometrics collection at an embassy or consulate, where applicable); or
--- Filed a benefit request with an associated biometrics requirement after March 18, 2020.

If these requirements are met, a biometrics appointment is not required. This will remain in effect during the COVID-19 pandemic and will automatically expire on Sept. 1, 2020, unless expressly extended by the USCIS deputy director for policy.

Covid-19 message
COVID-19 announcement

We understand that the COVID-19 pandemic may make it difficult for some people to reply on time to requests or notices from USCIS. While we will continue to act on replies filed on time, we are allowing certain measures regarding certain late replies received in response to USCIS requests, notices, or decisions. If you have received a request or notice from us with an issue date from March 1, 2020 to July 1, 2020, and you fail to reply on time, we will consider a reply received within 60 days after the response due date listed in the request or notice before we act on your case. This applies to requests for evidence (RFE), notices of intent to deny (NOID), notices of intent to revoke (NOIR), and notices of intent to terminate (NOIT). If you would like to submit a response after the deadline date on the request or notice, and the response period in your account has closed, use the “unsolicited evidence” option under the case Documents tab in your online account.

This is the message I have in my account for at least a month, I did not receive any request from USCIS.
Is anybody else experiencing the same message?

Thank you and good luck everyone

Naturalization Ceremony
Hi folks. Hope you all staying safe and doing really great during this pandemic and hope this pandemic will be vanquished so soon from entire world .

Looks like USCIS update naturalization ceremony information and will allow naturalization ceremony to process in all groups soon As below

 As of March 18, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services has temporarily suspended routine in-person services through at least June 3 to help slow the spread of COVID-19. USCIS plans to begin reopening our offices on or after June 4, unless the public closures are extended further. USCIS staff will continue to perform duties that do not involve contact with the public.
USCIS will automatically reschedule your ceremony. You will receive a notice for your rescheduled ceremony by mail. If you do not receive a notice within 90 days, please reach out to the USCIS Contact Center.
In certain limited situations, USCIS may be able to perform small naturalization ceremonies for limited numbers of applicants, when it is feasible and all appropriate precautions can be taken.
Applicants who are requesting a name change must wait for a judicial ceremony .

Hope will hear from them soon. Good luck everybody and stay patient and calm. God bless America .

Conflicting Status details
Good Morning Everyone.

I attended my interview on the 11th March and my application was approved there - when I go into the my.uscis.gov website and review my account the case status for a month showed "awaiting oath scheduling" then changed to "attended interview and we are reviewing" on the front page but in the car history tab it shows I attended interview on the 11th March in first line then "approved your application: on the second line on the 11th March, even though the front page is now showing only "attended interview - we will let you know if we need anything else from you as we continue to review your application". further when I check my IOE number on the webpage - egov.uscis.gov it shows case status as "Oath ceremony will be scheduled" - I assume the prior page is just glitching and showing the first event on the 11th March as the current and not the approval but has anyone else seen this happening on their account?

Thanks.
