We approved your application
My timeline so far:

02/22/2019 we received your application
02/23/2019 we scheduled your biometrics appointment
03/14/2019 we reviewed your biometrics
11/01/2019 we scheduled your interview
Interview: 12/13/2019
12/13/2019 you attended your interview
12/13/2019 we approved your application

Now I just have to wait until they schedule my naturalization ceremony. The interview itself was easy! I attended my interview at the San Francisco office and the official was nice and friendly. Here are the questions she asked me:

1. what is one promise you make when you become a US citizen?
2. What do we show loyalty to when we say the pledge of allegiance?
3. Who vetoes bills?
4. In what month do we vote for president?
5. There were thirteen original colonies. Name three of them
6. What is one right that is only for US citizens?

After that she told me I passed the civics tests and we moved on to the reading and writing portion, which was easy. Then we reviewed my application and I was given a document saying I passed and was going to be recommended for naturalization and this afternoon the online status changed to “we approved your application” now I just have to wait for the ceremony, I hope it won’t take too long!

n400 HIALEAH (FL) field office
want to quickly share my experience at HIALEAH (FL) field office.
based on 6 years residency still married.
- Applied online aug 14 2019
- biometric app. sept 3rd 2019
- scheduled for interview oct 25 2019
- interview dec 2nd 2019
- oath of allegiance dec 13th

total 4 months sharp from efile to oath.
I don't know if it was luck but everything was fast and smooth.
I brought so many papers for the interview but the only thing I had asked was the PREVIOUS PASSPORT (expired) and the officer checked that all the stamps were matching with i94.
that was VERY IMPORTANT. I did 12 trip in 5 yrs total 230 days so if I didn't have with me the day of the interview the previous passport I would probably sent home with RFE.
Also she aske me proof of child support abroad. the officer was very very nice but also very specific.
very happy today can't believe all has been done in only 4months!!!
good luck to everybody on this journey and never give up!

Citizenship Interview in San Antonio, TX
N-400 application based on 3 years of residency

Application Date: July 10th 2019
Biometrics Date: August 1st 2019
Interview Date: December 9th 2019
Oath Ceremony Date: TBD

Status: Approved

Quick Overview:
• Officer asked for my original birth certificate to verify my middle name. However; it wasn’t explicitly mentioned on the certificate. Changed the name at the interview (to add the middle name)
• First 6 civic questions asked were answered correctly.
• Read “Who lives in the White House”, Write “The President lives in the White House”.
• All Part 12 questions on the forms were asked and confirmed
• I had two additional international trips since application submission so provided the officer an amendment.
• Provided the officer with an amendment for the citation question I had forgotten to mention in my original application and an additional one which I received last month.
• Other questions: Spouse’s bday, current address, parents if US citizens, Phone number, Employer name, Date of residence in San Antonio.

Office provided me a document checking the box “Decision cannot be made at this time..” because she wanted to check with the supervisor on the additional citation I had received for which I had accepted differed disposition. But she was confident it would be approved.

As we were leaving she told us that she checked with the supervisor and he/she approved the application so she gave me a new document checking the box “Congratulations…”

Waiting for the Oath Ceremony.

All the best to everyone

Citizenship in Atlanta GA
Hey everyone,

This forum helped me a lot to prepare so, I would love to share my experience so it would help other.

May 11th 2019 - Application submitted online

June 4th 2019 - Biometrics done

November 5th 2019 - Interview Scheduled

After my interview was completed and I was approved for naturalization The officer told me to confirm if everything was correct on my application. I noticed my middle name was missing and I alerted the officer. The officer asked for my birth certificate, which I did not have in hand with me at that time but fortunately, the officer was able to dig it up in my immigration file. My birth certificate had my middle name written as my first name so, the officer said, she was going to have to update the application to reflect my middle name as my first name officially because, that was what is written on my birth certificate.

The officer gave me 2 options.

A. Do a name change right then and there but, my oath swearing in will take a while before it gets scheduled.

B. Go to court and file for a name change, get the court decree and present the decree at my oath swearing in ceremony. This was going to be the fastest option.

I selected option B.

This process was a little bit expensive because I had to pay about $290 to process a name change application at the court and also has to wait 30 days before I met with a judge to get the decree.

November 21st 2019 - Oath Swear- in date.

I had to reschedule because I did not get a court date to get my court decree for my name change. It was approved by USCIS and I got rescheduled for another date.

December 16th 2019 - New Oath swear-in date

If you are not really in a hurry for oath swearing in, it better to just go with option "A". Option B might have been quicker but it was more pricey.

3. How long is the window between scheduling Interview to date of interview.

4. Do we require to update address on driver license before i go to interview that's the only Photo ID i have.

Withdrawn Application
Hello there,

I had applied for my citizenship back in 2018 and got interviewed beginning of 2019. Due to one my travel that was more than 6 mouths, They requested RFE.
Based on the circumstances that I was in, my RFE respond would have not been satisfactory so I decided to withdraw my application after consulting my immigration lawyer.
As of today, my trip that lasted more than 6 months is no longer in my five year history of my residence and I am eligible to reapply again.

I was wondering If anyone has had a similar station where they had to withdraw their application and reapply again and what kind of experience they have had going forward in their process.
