Help
Please help.. I recently completed the process and attended Oath. I will give more details on that but I would like to ask . After the ceremony There were two people assisting with voter registration. I signed up and thought nothing of it until a friend placed the fear of everything in me. They did not think it was wise to register to vote with immigration officials. They stated it was a last chance to find a way to revoke status . They asked if I signed the date before submitted which I could not remember. Is it really USCIS way of checking registration because I ticked the box I am a US Citizen and probably forgot to sign the date could this resurface as a registration done prior to naturalization? Where do those forms go? This is the Dallas ceremony. Please help if anyone knows.

Houston N400 (Naturalization)
Application electronically filed: Dec. 20, 2017

Bio metrics Apt: Feb. 20, 2018

Interview Date Scheduled: Jan. 15

My lawyer had word in July of this year (2018) that my case had cleared the national center for background checks etc. so, it's been sitting at the Houston Center since then- however, the estimated time for my case is Feb 2019-a tad early!

I've been an LPR for more than 50 years- I'm an adoptee from South Korea- At age 25, I discovered my parents never filed for my naturalization post adoption. In the 1990's, USCIS told me I could be prosecuted and deported for having (unknowingly) voted as a citizen. Lawyers told me not to file.

I work for a national campaign advocating for changes to the Child Citizenship Act of 2001, that granted all adoptees auto citizenship except for those of us who had already turned 18. If you're an inter country adoptee who has not been naturalized and need advise, please find us online, Adoptee Rights Campaign.

I'll update after my interview. Thanks to all for sharing your experiences, I've followed this forum for a year- all info is helpful as this process is extremely stressful!

Naturalization application timeline
Married to a citizen for 4 years. We have two kids. When I applied online, I just uploaded three years tax filings, three years 1040s, wife's passport, kids' birth certificates, marriage certificate, green card copy, some photos.

10/14/2018 Applied online
10/19/2018 Received letter - Biometrics scheduled for 11/6/2018
11/6/2018 Attended biometrics (15 minutes)
11/12/2018 Received letter - Interview scheduled for 12/18/2018
12/18/2018 Attended naturalization interview (10 minutes, one sentence to read on a tablet, one sentence to write on a tablet and 6 civics questions).

I asked the interviewer when to expect the oath taking ceremony. She said within a month. Passport applications are available at oath ceremony. So in January, 2019 I'll be a citizen.

Don't over think. Don't login 100 times online to see what is happening. Chill out, lead your life to fullest. Enjoy time with your family. Everything will fall in place.

To also provide a little bit of context I am doing a name change, unfortunately my father gave me an unfortunate name lol (Yasser) damn you current political climate, and so I am getting something more appropriate for my ethnicity (Diego) lol so I would assume they are taking longer cuz of that alone

Oath Ceremony Rescheduled (Miami Field Office)
Has anyone from Miami Field Office been affected by the death of the 41st President about their naturalization ceremony? Mine was supposed to take place on December 7 2018, but got a call from USCIS the day before that it has been rescheduled for a later date. Please let me know. Thank you.

Houston, TX. Filer
Hi All,

My Process Date for N-400 October 5, 2017. I had my Citizenship Interview December 4, 2018. I PASSED!!!! The IO was really awesome she really made me feel so comfortable and didn’t ask me all these crazy questions everyone was telling me about. I’m just waiting for the Oath Ceremony, I was told by the IO that I’d be getting a letter in the mail and that more then likely I would be attending the one in January or February, but my status online hasn’t even changed, it’s been almost 2 weeks and it still says “My Interview was Scheduled” Does anyone have any input in this or any idea how long it will be for the Oath Ceremony in Houston? Thanks all :)
