Trips Outside of the US
I thought it might be reassuring to share my experiences particularly as they relate to part 9 of the N-400.

In brief, my timeline was as follows:

PD - 9/27/2016
Interview - 3/13/2017
Oath ceremony 4/12/2017

So all relatively straightforward but the unusual aspect was the number of trips I have taken outside the US in the last 5 years. They totaled 132 and over 500 days cumulatively outside of the US. This was a worry to me even though my longest single trip was 18 days (my average trip length was 3 days). At the interview, I was asked why I had taken so many trips and I explained that the vast majority (probably 95%) were work related. The officer commented that 132 trips in a 5 year period was the most she had ever seen! She then went on to ask if any of the trips were over 6 months and none of them were even close. My cumulative days outside the US were also significantly under the 913 maximum. The officer then said that ordinarily they would check off each of my trips against stamps in my passport, but as there were so many they wouldn't be doing that (in any event my passport wasn't stamped for a lot of my trips).

And in relation to the trips, that was it. We moved on to the next question and at the end of the interview my application was approved, which was a huge relief. A lot of worry but all very much worth it in the end. Best of luck to all.

Oath ceremony status update
Do USCIS update online case status when they schedule you for Oath Ceremony and how long is the usual wait.

I filed N400 form on Nov 30th 2017,

got my fingerprints done on Dec 20th 2017.

I just got my interview done on April 4th 2017 and my interview was successful.

They said I will receive a mail for Oath ceremony but no guidelines for how long it will take.

I am not sure if USCIS will update my online case status when they schedule me for Oath Ceremony. The interviewer said my Oath ceremony be held at Chicago courthouse because I requested minor change in my name. When I looked online there are only two oath ceremonies scheduled at the Chicago courthouse on 11th April and 18th April. Then next ceremony is in May. I haven't heard anything so far so I believe I won't be scheduled for April month. I hate this waiting game as its been almost 6 months. Just wanna get done with this.

Please give me some advice, thanks!
Hello, all! NYC Queens filed office here.

My timeline is as following:
10/26/16 submitted application

11/28/16 FP done
........Long Wait (I read others' posts, and it usually takes them a few days to move to next step)

Finally, 03/03/2017 Case in Line for interview

So far nothing changes. I read on line and from others' posts, it says it usually takes 2-4 weeks from "case in line for interview" to "Interview is scheduled". So should I wait more or do the Infor Pass or call L2 officer? Btw, I saw "called L2 officer" from others' posts, if I plan to call, how to get L2 officer contact number?

Thanks!

Los Angeles
Can anyone from the Southern CA region share their timeline/experience with N-400? I just applied last week from Los Angeles. I've seen varying length of time for LA people, from 4 months to a full year.

Thanks!

Hello Everybody,

Is there anyone who had interview schedule at Nov or Dec?

By looking through all the discussion threads here, I realized there is on one who had interview schedule during these two holiday months.

Is this true.?
