B2 visa rejected 4 times
I have got my visa first time in the year 2009, before that i applied when i was 16 & 18yearas yrs old and i got rejected twice in the year 2002 and 2004 and i again applied in the year 2009 and got the visa.
then i went to the US and stayed there for 5months and came back.
Now whenever i apply i get rejected. I already got rejected 4 times since 2011. Last time i applied, i was studying MBA and i got rejected, and i re-applied again when i was still doing my MBA and again i got rejected. Now after 2.5years of waiting and now i am a working per and work for a central government, and earn 8.15laks per annum. I am 29years old, sponsoring for my own trip.
I had all documents ready, NOC to salary certificate, my mom and dad both has 10yrs visa, and i wish to travel with them too, as first time i got the visa for 6months and my dad had visa for 10yrs , he got way before us and then my mom got for 10yrs and i got for 6months in the year 2009, then again i applied with my dad, they rejected my visa and gave my dad 10yrs visa

Now this time when i applied and went for the interview, the officer asked:

why you want to to go the US? Said want to travel with my parents for a vacation to meet our family friends in the US( genuine reason and answer)
What u do for living? Work for the company as ___ said
What is your annual income? 8.15Lak
Are your married? No
And he then rejected my VISA.
I do not understand, what strong ties do i have to show?
I am the only son and i earn pretty good and work for the central govt.
I went to the US in 2009 and came back , did not overstay.
Now what could be the reason, that i have been rejected 4times in a row after my visa was issued one time already.
Its better they can ban me, as they are doing business, they keep rejecting and i keep applying. They do not even give proper explanation, even whn i was 16years old, they handed over 214(b) that i do not have strong ties, where my dad was sponsoring who works for the Ministry of INDIA and i was in School.
WOw, they are just making money.. They are unofficially not banning but making money from the candidate like this? I mean 4times rejection for what?
I have strong ties and good background. This is cruel and no action can be taken against it. Really frustrated and Sad!! Will never apply again.....enough is enough!

Honesty and Confidence is the KEY- Approved Kolkata
VO: Hi Good Morning
ME: Good Morning to you too! (handing passport)
VO: Why are you going to the United States?
ME: Transit and Tourism
VO: How long will you be in the US? Transiting to?
ME: I will in be in the US for 3 days, I will arrive at Miami, spend two days there, shop and look around a little and then fly to Ecuador to go on an expedition to the Galapagos Islands with National Geographic after which I will return to Miami for a day and fly back to India.
VO: Oh Cool !! Why are you going through the US though? Why not Brazil or Panama?
ME: National Geographic is offering complimentary airfare for me from Miami that is why.
VO: Why is National Geographic funding you?
ME: Cause I'm a freelancing photographer as well, and I do some work for them once in a while.
VO: Great!! (flicks the pages of my passport to see various other visas and immigration stamps and types in the computer for a while like 2 minutes) Where all have you traveled to with National Geographic?
ME: Answers accordingly and the visa officer listens keenly
VO: Why are you applying for a B2 visa when a C1 visa is sufficient ?
ME: Because I plan to travel to the states off and on in the near future and applying for a visa and paying 160$ again is a hassle.
VO: What does your mother do?
ME: Owns a hotel which is the family business and I help her once in a while.
VO: How many rooms in the hotel?(trick question)
ME: I answered accordingly and immediately
VO: Congratulations and have a great expedition and click amazing photos. You are a lucky guy, getting paid to travel.

I think honestly and confidence is the key. He asked me sudden questions about my mother and our business to see my reaction. Had I been lying I would not have been able to answer them without giving a thought but since I have helped my mom and I know, I do not need to think about the answers at all. They just come out instantly.
However it is also very important to have traveled before or a job or something because a couple who were applying for a B2 Visa were rejected in 2 mins. They were in front of me in the line. The VO asked the husband about his job, he said he had a business and generated a good income, asked the wife she said she helps him in the business and is a housewife too. They were just married and had no children or parents and the VO lifted there passport and just flicked through the pages and said " Not one stamp or Visa, you guys haven't traveled at all since passports were issued. Sorry but I cannot grant you a VISA.

2nd time around- APPROVED!
Hi all! I just want to share my crazy experience to give HOPE to anyone out there.

I applied for the tourist visa in July. I was denied. The first interview went as followed:

VO: Hi. Passport please.
- Have you traveled outside of India?
ME: Yes, I've been to Sri Lanka.
VO: (Smiling) Wow! that's great. Why do you want to visit the US?
ME: Friends have invited me for the holidays, so I want to celebrate with them.
VO: What do you do?
ME: I just graduated from college and am helping my dad in his business.
VO: Who will pay for your trip?
ME: Myself.

Then I was denied.

I realized I should have said my father will sponsor my trip, but I wanted to be true to the answer I put on the application - because BELIEVE it or NOT - They follow the application thru the whole process. Anyway, I was pretty bummed. Everyone told me to wait until next year to try again.. until I could have a steady income and build better ties to my country.

BUT - I decided to try again.

Nothing about my circumstances changed, other than I went to Sri Lanka for a 2nd time. ;) I secretly booked a new appointment and didn't tell my family.

I went this morning fully thinking I was wasting my time. I reached the counter.. time for interview #2.

VO: Passport Please.
ME: gave passport and said good morning.
VO: Why do you want to go to US?
ME: To celebrate christmas with friends in the US.
VO: Your dad owns a clothing store? (he was reading my application form)
ME: Yes.
VO: How many employees does he have?
Me: 5
VO: How do you know the friends you will visit?
Me: My dad is also a pastor and works for an NGO. So many Americans come to volunteer here, and that is how I have made a few American friends.
VO: Looks in my passport... and asks if I have been outside of India?
ME: Yes I have been to Sri Lanka.

He typed in the computer for what felt like 5 minutes. I have been told they are in contact with people in the US this whole process during the typing...

Finally! The special words "You're visa is approved. Have a great holiday!"

I was so shocked. I jumped away without even asking when to pick up my passport. haha.

I just wanted to write this to encourage you guys... my circumstances didn't change. The ONLY thing I changed on my new form was that my dad will sponsor the trip and not myself. I do believe that made a difference. I had all papers to prove my dad can afford everything, property letters, invitations from friends - but of course they didn't ask to see it.

I am fresh out of college. Newly working. Not married. No kids. I have been to Sri Lanka - which didn't seem special to me but that is the only thing I had in my favor!! AND all this within 2 months of applying before... If it can happen for me.. it can happen for you! Just be confident. Dress nicely. Know the answers. Now I can plan for my first trip abroad!! yea!!

Visitor visa for parents approved
Hi All,

Firstly thanks to all the forum members for helping me find answers to my questions on visitor visa.

Like many others here i was worried about the visa approval for 2 reasons

1) parents retired
2) Low income

Thankffully, none of this was asked in visa interview and my parents got their multiple entry visa. Questions asked were as below

1) How was i related to them
2) What does my dad do
3) what was he doing before retirement
4) How many childern
5) what does the other child do?

and to my mom

1) Are you a housewife.

Thats it and their visa was approved.

However i did do a lot of homework on getting the documentation. I got all the documents like affidavit of support, my parenst net worthy statment from CA, family tree [cos my parents didnt have a property on their name[] however my dad has a share in my grandparents house and all other documents mention in immihelp.

Biggest part is none of this was asked but i believe that better be safe then sorry :).

Hope my post helps anyone else in the same situation as mine.

Bottom line if parents are retired, no property, no sufficient bank balance and low monthly income no need to be worried as long as we be truthfull in all documents and DS 160 filling.

All the best to all.

Help
I'm 2nd year bachelor student living in Sweden with a permanent residence permit. My family also lives here, my mother, step father and sister. I want to take a trip to the us during the school break, for sightseeing and vacation. Some information about me and my application:
-I want to go for 3 weeks bc i need to get back for school
-All the ties i have is in Sweden, bank accounts, family, school, student help...
-My mother owns an apartment here in sweden and she's also the one paying for my trip, as i stated in the application
-I'm a second year student with with student help as income
-I have a friend in the east coast and she said it would help if she writes me an invitation and send me proof that she goes to college in the states.

Would the invitation work against me or should I not mention my friend at all?
What are the chances of me getting a visa in sweden?
Also, i'm worried that my documents won't even get looked at.

I'd love to hear your opinion and advice if you ever been in the same situation or has ever apply for a visa in sweden or the nordic countries. Thank you very much!
