Visitor Visa for 10 years
I wish to convey my sincere thanks to this site in getting me 10 years' Multiple Entry Tourist Visa to US at the first attempt. I prepared my paper work very carefully and went for Interview with a huge file containing all the required documents regarding my assets, bank statements, I-34 and supporting documents (as my younger brother is Green Card Holder). The Visa Officer was very polite and asked me the following questions :-

Q1 : Why do you want to go to the US?
A1 : To meet my brother and his family who are there since last 10 years.
Q2 : What do you do?
A2 : I am a practicing Chartered Accountant.
Q3 : For how many years you are in practice?
A3 : For last 17 years.
Q4 : Where did you pass out your CA?
A4 : From ICAI, New Delhi.
Q5 : How old are your children?
A5 : I have two daughters, the elder one is 15 years old and the younger one is 11 years old?
A6 : Why your wife and children are not going with you?
A6 : Since my wife has to take care of my old parents.
Q7 : What is your Annual Income?
A7 : Rs. YYYY YYYY .

The Visa Office thanked me and said that the Visa would be delivered by Courier and this evening I got it by Courier.

Thanks again to immihelp.com.

Urgent Help needed (4th time Visa rejected for my parrents)
Hi Friends,

My parrents were trying to visit me from the last year ,1st and 2nd time they applied in 2005 to attend my Graduation ceremony but they were refused without even seeing the paperwork sent by me or the paperwork from them (Ist Visa interview was in Oct and 2nd in Dec,2005).
In November first week I tried their visa third time as my status got changed from F1 to H1Bi,this time also VO doesnot even bother to have look on the documents sent by me(3 yrs Tax returns (W2),Affidevit of support),personal letter, letter to consulate and letter from employer. All the three rejections were under section 214B.This time I told my parrents to go again ( on 28th Nov ) and I sent a new set of documents but they got the refusal saying that the law doesnot permit them to visit to their Son if he is on H1B1.Infact during the fourth interview he looked into all my documents and at the end refused their visa under the same section (214-b).After the interview they really got shattered and now they dont want ot appear again(As far as my parrents documents are concerned they showed about 17 lacs Liquid and the home and Agricultural land,as my father is a retired govt officer and mother is running a small bussines of garments to keep herself busy ).As far family ties are concerned we are two sibling (Myself working here on H1B1 and my sister[She is happily married and well settled].
Could anyone please give me his/her valuable suggestions so next time there is no disappointment.(In all these attempts both applied for the visa at New Delhi)

Please respond with your valuable suggestions.

Thanks and waiting for your replies..
Kuljeet

Grandmother got 10 years visa
Hi All,

I am sharing this info to let everyone know that you can bring your GRANDMA on visitor visa.

I was skeptical about bringing my grandmother to US thinking they may not allow like they do to parents and wanted to give a try, the first time when she went in september they rejected but i think the reason is i gave my checking and saving both statements and they looked at my checking and thought the balance is less without even looking at my savings balance. So this time on 17th nov, i gave only my savings statement with other documents and she got the visa. Here are the details,
1. My grand mother is 83 years old
2. She do not have any assets or strong financial backing in india
3. She has only one son (my dad) and another grand son in india
4. I am on h1b

Questions asked,
1. Who is in US ?
2. Where is he working ?
3. How long is he in US ?
4. Is he married ? how many kids ?
5. What is your son doing in india ?
6. Why is he not coming with you ?

Regards,
Kishan

my mother-in-law got visa just today in chennai - First attempt
Hi everybody, Just now got the news that my mother-in-law got her 10 year multiple entry visa at chennai consulate today. Her name as per passport is Mahalaxmi. Her name in my husband's passport was just Lakshmi. So we were a bit worried. She took the property documents which were in my father-in-law's name (who is no more). So we were no sure if she would be able to get visa. Thank you all for your support.

My parents had an interview scheduled on Nov 17 in tamil. This was their second attempt. The first attempt was in English.

The questions asked

1. Whom are you going to see in US.

2. How long has your son been in the US.

3. How many months do you want to go to the US.

Then the lady said we would send your passports in a week.

I have been a regular reader of this forum for the last 7 months. It helped me a lot in preparing my parents for the interview

Affidavit For Support
Hi:

My friend, who's sponsoring his wife, asked me if I could help him out by filling out an affidavit for support. He basically told me I only have to give copies of my W2s for the last three years.

What is the correct form that I would have to fill out if I was do do this? Are there any negative factors for which I shouldn't do this?

Thank you,
-Bernie
