got 10 yr business visa in second application
Hi I got 10-yr visa end april at chennai, after rejection for my first application in early march.
Basically, I was rejected the first time due to insufficient documents. the second time I had with me a clear letter of invitation, letter of support, letter of employment in india and a statement in all three letters that I would be paid salary by indian employer. also fact that all travel-related EXPENSES would be borne by US co that was inviting me.
I also had with me -- but visa officer never saw them -- proof for family in India, residence in India, movable and immovable property in india etc.
basically, visa officer wanted to know why I thought I should get visa and what docs I had to support my apps. Also had to explain American company's strong reasons for wanting me to go there.
Confident attitide supported by good documents will make the case for the visa. So, prepare well and read experiences from sites such as immihelp to get a good idea of what you will be asked.
cheers!

FOr Mr. Pramod Yadav
I saw ur query about emergency appt in Delhi. Did you get an appointment there? I am in a same situation. I was in US for a change of status. I came to India for a family emergency. Now I need stamping in the passport. When I left US in January, I got an appt on May 10 at chennai consulate. Still I have not got my papers. My husband's graduation ceremony is on June 4. If I dont get my papers by May 10 can I book an emergency appt in Delhi, assuming I get my papers by the end of May?
Anybody who knows about this, kindly reply.
Thanks.

Parents Visa rejected
My parents visa got rejected in Chennai consulate on April 19th. They had been to US in August 2003 and stayed for 6 months. Questions asked are

Q: Who is in USA?
Q: How many children you have?
Q: Where are they?

The officer asked to give papers from USA
He just looked at one paper very fast, did not ask anything and returned it. He said the visa is rejected as my parents will not go back if they come to US again. My father had prepared all the papers but officer did not look at anything and called the next one. My parents were not given enough time to convince about the ties back in India

I thought it would be easy for my parents since they already been here before. We did not try to extend their stay. I am the only one in US. My sister and a brother is in India.

We are trying to book another appointment again.

Following 2 rejections in 2003- Mom got her visa
My Mom got her 10-year visitor visa at Mumbai Consulate yesterday. Her visa was prevoously rejected twice in May 2003. This time around it was surprisingly a pleasant experience, she went in around 8:15am and came out at 9:15 am.

She took an interpreter.
The Consular officer was a young american lady, very pleasant and courteous. She asked a few questions in HINDI :). The following questions were asked

1. Where are you going?
Ans. My Mom answered accordingly giving the city and state.

2. How many children do you have?
Ans. 2 sons. Elder son in India, younger son in U.S

3. What does your younger son do in U.S?
He is software engineer in ABC company

At this point, the CO smiled and greeted my MOM that "She is so soft spoken and said you have been granted visa and will reach your home by post".

We did not wait for the post and collected it the same day from VFS office between 5-6 pm.

Thanks to this website we had prepared and practised the question and answers. In addition, the documentation was prepared in line with guidance on this website.

Thanks and do not lose faith and all the best.

THE U.S. CITIZENS FOREIGN FAMILY VISA AMMENDMENT
Post what you think about the following proposal here:

http://usforeignfamily.blogspot.com/

The current U.S. immigration policy towards family members of U.S. Citizens in foreign countries is destructive to familial relationships. The current policies and procedures breed distrust and ill will towards Americans Citizens within their own family, and towards United States Government and its people. Treating American Citizen’s foreign family with dignity and respect will pave the way towards strengthening the common bonds American Citizens share with our families in countries all around the world.

In order to provide equitable familial rights to the families of established American Citizens married to Foreign Nationals we propose the following amendments to immigration law and policies:

Wheras, established American Citizens married to Foreign Nationals are denied equal familial rights by the United States Government by severely restricting the ability of family members located in most foreign countries visitation rights through current legal Non-immigrant Visa policies.

Any established American Citizen who’s family has been American Citizens for more than three generations will be provided the following foreign family visitation rights.

Provide immediate in-laws (Mother, Father, Sisters, Brothers, First Aunts, First Uncles and First Cousins),under current security restrictions, the right to a 5 year 30 day non-immigrant visitors visa.

The request must be first made by and applied for by the established American Citizen.

After the request has been acknowledged by the foreign countries American Consular Service the immediate in-law will follow the established Visa application process in the foreign country.

The established American Citizens request will be added to the immediate in-laws Visa application.

The Visa security policies and procedures will be applied to the application but the applicant will not have to demonstrate their intent to return home.(The U.S. Citizen will be held legally and Financially liable if the person does not return home.)

My parents visa rejected thrice-applying again next month
My mother's visa has been rejected thrice and my father's visa has been rejected twice in the last 3 years. We have scheduled another appointment in July. I would like all the help I can get to prepare documents.

My brother also resides in USA. My father is working and has a transferrable job. Due to his transfers, he has once applied for visa in mumbai and once in New Delhi but now he is again relocated to Kolkata and they would be applying from there.

Once my husband had tried to sponsor my mother, then my brother tried to sponsor bith my parents and then me since I am also working now. This time again I am sponsoring both my parents.

I am on H1 and my brother is on EAD. Do we need to send both of ours documents and bank statements etc.? Could change of location in India be again a reason for rejection?

How can I get Senator's letter? Both me and my brother own properties in India. Could documents for those help in assuring the visa authorities that we are not going to stay here permanently. My father has around 1.5 years of service remaining and he would retire from a very high post in a govt. organisation.

I appreciate all the help I can get from you people.

Thanks,

Chances Of Visa Approval
l am honoured to write you this puzzle. l just came across this forum recently, while filling my visa form, and l hope you will be kind enough to throw more light on my chances of securing a Non immigrant visa after 5 good times of trying to get to the United States just to fulfil a long life dream, that l have had, and inspite of my economic status, social tie with a wife, and now three children.

l hope to spend just 7 days, with my wife and children. My bank accounts, about seven of them, including Zenith, and Union Bank), each have a balance not less than #1m to #6m.

My property, with Jide Taiwo (A renowned Nigerian, Estate Valuer) as the valuer, is estimated at almost #300m, all of them within Lagos State, and also with Certificates of ownership, and one with Governor's Consent.

Myself, and my wife;s tax laibility is up to date.

My children are going to a school that is within my income means,
around (#125,000.00 /annum), and my baby is just 3 months old.(WHOM I DONT KNOW WHETHER I NEED TO FILL A SEPARATE APPLICATION FORM FOR, SINCE HER MOTHER CARRIES SAME PASSPORT NUMBER WITH HER).

l have been honest for the last 8 years, and l still remain honest today. Although, l know my older brother, who now resides in US, as a medical Doctor, through, a H1 visa, has done a great havoc to my securing a visa, (As l have been told), since l have always believed him to be an advantage to me as my HOST.

Should l just cancel the invitation which l have now booked for 4th May, because, l have travelled to Belgium, Dubai, Israel,(Twice), France, since the last Three years, and l am hoping to get to London on same trip to US. Don't ask me if l can afford the trip,
because, l truly can. And l have used my Master card, ( in securing a fully paid hotel bed spaces in London and US, although l am still not sure if this would not frustrate my visa approval, but, l am not going to stay with any relative, although, l have admitted, l have a brother in the States).

Finally, will l need a US Medical insurance

Please, l dont wnat to damage the integrity l now have on my passport, if that is the least l can achieve, talk less of my children's.
