Got 221g. On 20 Nov attended interview. I was asked usual questions and interviewer started typing asking me some questions and gave me 221g blue slip and passport back.
On 20 Dec my company submitted documents. The Ceac website shows the updated date as 20 Dec.
No update as of 06 Jan.
My family is stuck in US :(
On 08 Jan at 13 Hours IST received email from consulate to submit passport. Hopefully for stamping
Last updated date changed to 10 Jan 2013
On 14 Jan 2019, the status changed to "Issued" around 12 PM
The passport tracking showed as ".. processed for delivery"
Then it changed to "ready for pickup"
I did not get the email and i was anxious so approached the Bio metrics center and they gave the passport.

Nov 30th Attended H1-B Renewal Interview
VO asked basic questions about who is the client, salary, time duration at client.
Issue 221 (g) Slip to submit Employer Contract, Client Letter, Project Description.
December 11th Submitted the requested documents, received the automatic email confirmation.
On December 26th got an email to appear for Interview again. I checked with my employer and client they have not contacted them for verification.
Attended the Re-Interview on January 8th.
VO told my clerk from other team wants to talk to you, but currently is in a meeting. After a long wait period at 2:00PM, she cam and called me to cubical like window and asked multiple questions regarding personal, employer and client. The interview lasted for about 30 minutes.
Then I asked her what is the reason for this, she told we have to do verification from time to time.
Then VO called me to other window and said your VISA is approved.
Received Passport with Stamp on January 10th

Hello,
I am on my first year of H1. I attended the visa interview at Chennai Consulate. They asked me the basic questions and also about my project. Then, they asked me for the paychecks, employment verification letter, I-129, LCA during my interview.
Then, they gave me a blue slip with 'Application refused due to Administrative processing and will be reconsidered when process is complete' marked.
Please let me know if any others in the same situation.
Until now, they haven't contacted my employer.

the VO just says your case need additional admin processing and i will hold your passport. he holds the 221g and put tick mark on second option which says "your application needs additonal processing before a final decision is made".
the part that worries me is that i did two masters in united states and my OPT is not from the same university when VO asked which university you went to. Also i had done CPT after OPT on the second masters. i could not answer that because i thought i should just answer to the point instead of talking too much :) . not sure there are candidates as me. thought to share that to find people who are in similar boat or at least educate others on my experience.

H1B interview. F1 -> H4 (w/ EAD) -> H1. Got MS and PhD from top 10 US schools. FTE at a very large company.
Only asked for my passport. No documents asked during interview.

VO mutters to himself, cicks and types for a long time, mutters that's not correct, and gives me a blue 221g form with a case number. No documents requested. Didn't even see my I797 or paystubs or employment verification. Blue from only has "Administrative processing" checked. Strikes off everything on the back side of the form pertaining to client letters and employer documents.
I ask how long it may take, and he told me that it is not certain given the government shutdown, but it is a "very fast process".
Anyone have any experience with this? This is my first H1B
