The last response I have received from the Mumbai consulate was on 4/9/2018 stating, "Your application is refused under Section 221(g) of
the Immigration and Nationality Act for mandatory administrative
processing.

Got a blue slip (221-G) from Officer with the document to be submitted "Client Invite Letter"
04/26: Employer has submitted all the needed documents
Latest update: Between 05/14 and 05/18 - VO has reached out to the client and enquired about the documents that has been shared.
As of 06/04: Don't see any updates through email/phone and even the portal, so far.
Not sure about the time duration for processing the documents. Also, if we missed emails/phone calls unknowingly, what would be the next steps. Just curious.
This is really a pain point, as I don't know where my case is and when this would get complete.
06/06: Received an email from Consulate to submit the passports and new 221(G) letter received from them.
06/07: Submitted the passports, Submission reference letter and new 221(G) letter received from them.
06/08: Status date changed as today, but still the status summary says the same "AP".
06/11: Visa is in Issued status now with 10 days SLA msg

I have attended h1b interview on Hyderabad with my family .It's my first H1B interview.VO was asking some basic quertion as below
1)Who is employer.
2)who is your client?
3)what is your salary and higher education?
4)You are planning to travel employer oR client?
Finally she went somewhere for a minit and came back she said as of now we are returning your passports and your case need to some addition admin process and and she gave one white slip put the tic mark in 3rd box, your case need some additional administrative process before final decision made .
Can anyone on same boat and what i can expect next step.

5th year PhD student renewing F1. Here is my timeline:
May 24, 2018: Submitted passport for dropbox processing
May 25, 2018: CEAC tracker shows "Application Received"
May 29, 2018: CEAC tracker shows AP (1st update)
May 31, 2018: Passport tracker shows that passport is ready for pickup
June 1, 2018: Passport delivered. Provided a green 221g letter asking me to appear for interview. No docs requested other than passport.
June 4, 2018: Attend interview. VO asks if I graduated in 2013. I tell him no, I graduated in 2008. VO says sorry for all the hassle. [I don't know how any of this is relevant for the 221g/PhD research etc]. He says visa will be issued by the end of the week.
June 7, 2018: CEAC tracker shows AP (2nd update)
June 8, 2018: CEAC tracker shows Issued

Mar 29: Attended Interview, VO asked simple questions and handed over 221g White slip
Apr 2: Submitted all asked documents (I797, I129, LCA, Petition Application, Client Letter) via email to [email protected]. Email size less than 20mb. Received automated email response same time that submitted docs have been received.
Not a single update yet !
Tried contacting [email protected] & NVC many times but they are giving generic response and asking me to wait as case cannot be expedited :(
Online tracking status is not even getting updated a single time, still shows my Interview date only.
Waiting to get my H1 Visa renewed as have to join back at work asap.
