No response yet from consulate since then. Case is still pending.

10-JAN-2018 : Appeared for interview. Answered usual questions. Finally, VO handed out white slip, asking for submission of - All I797s, I-129, LCA & Cover letter, Client letter, Petititioner's federal tax returns for last 2 years, Notarized list of petitioner's employees, My Paystubs from 2017.
30-JAN-2018 : Submitted documents to designated email & received acknowledgement.
04-FEB-2018 : Case updated to AP.
09-MAY-2018 : Got email for passport submission after 98 days. Submitted the same.
10-MAY-2018 : Case updated date in CEAC site.
11-MAY-2018 : "Issued" status in CEAC site.
14-MAY-2018 : Passport collected with stampings.

This is my First H1 Application. I went for interview on 20-March-2018 and during the interview the questions asked were more general about: employer, education, salary and client. I was been given with 221G blue slip and asked to check the status online. No documents were asked to submit from my side, VO said they have what is needed and returned back my passport. My client got query about me after probably 15 days of interview date, client responded but the online status still shows "case last created and update" on 20-March-2018. I am in a EC model and not working at the petitioner.
Got mail today (4-June-2018):
This is to inform you, that your H1b case has been denied under Section 221 (g) of the United States Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) pending further administrative processing. The petition will be soon returned to USCIS for review

Hi,
I had drop box option, submitted my passport. Later on passport returned asking me to attend f2f interview. Attended interview on 29th March, again given 221g. Was asked strange questions like height and weight and what i was doing on certain specific dates. No employment verification done yet, no updates yet. I remember VO saying me not to ruin my time in india and it will take 2 weeks but its been 2 months still no update. :(

VO asked job title, asked what kind of research, then asked me to go to a different counter where I was given a white sheet asking for documents like resume, publications, content of research, etc. (I sent only those that were applicable to me, I sent them all in one email).
Email address that I had to send documents to : advanceprocessing at state.gov
I noticed that officer wrote my case number as XXXXXXX-XXX-1 whereas to check status on ceac (dot) state (dot) gov, one has to enter case number ending in 0001. Do not worry if you send email using either case number as subject.
Status showed as below until 05/28/2018 (no updates/nobody looked at my documents):

Last updated: April 20, 2018
On 05/29/2018 around 9:50am status changed to last updated on 05/29/2018 (still administrative processing).
On 05/30/2018 around 11:30am status changed to issued.
On 05/31/2018 ready for pickup.
