Through out process several attempts were made to contact the consulate support ID (not much of help) the status shared was same as calling the number, very generic response (Administrative processing)
My client or employer was not contacted as per my knowledge.

I had a drop box and and then got a request for interview. I have lived in the states for over 15 years, studied there, have a salary upwards of 140k and have been with my company (big consulting company). This would have been my 3rd stamping with the same company. They have asked for

5th year PhD student renewing unexpired F1 visa that has 2 months left.
Dropbox 04/18, received blue 221g slip on 04/23 asking to appear for interview with CV and thesis abstract. Current visa CWOP.
Attended interview on 04/26. Officer looked at thesis abstract and asked a few questions about research, whether it has tech applications (it doesn't, it's fundamental theoretical science), and about plans after graduation. Visa approved.
04/27 CEAC shows issued.
04/28 received passport with new 5 year F1 visa.

VO asked questions about myself, employer and client. Collected my LCA, I797, W2, pay stubs, Old Passport ( to validate my L1) and new passport. After 45 mins of wait time I was called again and the VO gave back all my documents including passport. Gave me 221(g) blue slip with the reason “your blanket L1 is not clearly approvable under section 8 CFR 214.2. I was not given a chance to ask questions why was it checked when I’m for my H1 or to explain the same. I wrote an email to [email protected] and got a reply stating that the reason marked is an error and should be read as administrative processing. Case update date still shows March 21, 2018. There was a client verification happened on March 29, 2018. What could be the next step and how long will it take to get an update in these kind of cases generally?
April 18- got an email to submit my passport; April 19- Submitted my passport; April 23- Case date updated after a month and 2 days; April 24- Ststus changed to issued;

Interview date : Feb 26 2018 US Embassy New Delhi. Documents asked at the time of interview: only H1B approval (I797). Asked to go to counter 6, where I was handed 2 white sheets (221g) with a list of documents to be submitted on the given Email ID. Submitted all the documents : Feb 28 2018 by noon. Status on CEAC tracker website was AP from Feb 26 to April 11 2018. There was an update on "case last updated" date on April 12 of April 11 2018. The status still shows AP. Been 6 weeks and 5 days. People say I should hear from the Embassy soon on issuance of the visa. Expected to hear some today, but I did not. Any input would be great.

Case last updated date moved to Apr 20 @ 9:45 am. Its been 52 days since doc submission (8th week running). Anyone with similar experience of two updates under AP?

I've dropped my H1B documents through drop box on 5th Sep 2017 and got a call from consulate to attend interview on 11th Sep 2017. VO asked some basic questions and took copy of client letter and some other documents at that time, issued 221g White slip. My 6th year H1B petition expired on Oct 21st 2017.I've applied for B1 visa in Dec 2017 and they rejected my B1 visa due to H1B visa still on admin processing.
Client verification completed in the mean time so I've escalated my H1B visa status. On 21st Dec 2017 i got mail from HYD CEC to submit scanned valid I 797 copy for further processing of my H1B. After few days my I140 approved and applied H1B extension using approved I140. My H1b extn approved in March and got validity up to Jan 3rd 2021.
On 2nd April 2018, i've sent scanned I797 copy to HYD CEC and waiting for reply from them.

Apr 23 2018 - Issued and passport collected
