went to India for H1 stamping.
Interview date for H1 7 Feb 2018 received 221g blue slip. employer 2 sent required documents on 8th Feb, submitted documents on 9th Feb 2018. Long wait. CAEC website doesn't update anything. Don't keep high hopes on the site. Keep sending mails to the provided mail address on 221g slip.
Nothing changed till 4th March 2018. 5th March received mail to submit passports. No change on CAEC website. Submitted passports on 6th March 2018.
Received mail to collect passport on 9th March 2018. Collected passports on 11th March 2018 with H1 for myself and H4 for family.
Things worked out and all the best to everyone going thru this process. This is frustrating process but if it is a legitimate case you will receive approval. Try not to think too much be patient.

The interview went well with the VO asking basic questions regarding job, employer, pay. Also had my daughter who was there for her H4 visa. The VO asked her some questions too, regarding her school and teacher and which grade she was studying in. All seemed well and finally was asked for my passport. Then the VO all of a sudden said he needed more time to review my application and asked me to check my email for a questionnaire. He said I should be able to answer most of the questions and asked me to send it back as soon as possible. The received the mail from the Consulate on 27th November and it was a travel questionnaire asking me to fill out details of my stay for the past 15 years. I completed and submitted it with all supporting documents on December 1st and since then there has been no update on my case.
I have been in the US since 2013 as Student and then moved to H1B with an I140 that was approved in October 2017. I am FTE for a reputed hospital.

Hi,
VO asked I797,LCA,client letter,I129 and employment verification letter. I have gave everything on spot. He returned all document with passport. But he kept client letter copy and few pages for I129(Petition copy) . VO asked all normal questions like Client name, Petitioner, Salary etc. After all question he gave me 221(g) blue slip by saying your visa application need some additional administrative process. This requires couple of weeks. So please wait till that time. Now its been more than 4 months no update yet. Client and employer also not contacted. No communication made by Chennai consulate. No documents asked till date. I have called support team, they are giving standard reply like please wait till process completes. Sent multiple email to Chennai consulate and go same standard reply. Please comment if you are in same situation.

Got 221 (g) on my first H1 renewal. Officer asked generic questions related to current employer, past employer, client name, location, masters degree from US and my rights of employment in US. Later took out a white slip and asked to email docs including I-797 petition, LCA, end client letter and contract at [email protected]. My application is still in administrative processing. Not sure what's the hold up, client hasn't been contacted yet. Anyone in similar situation ??
