Dec 7th - Joint interview, myself H1 and my spouse for H4. Both on new I797 petition. VO mentioned both of our VISA approved but my wife case will go for further processing. No 221g slips given
Dec 12 - I got my passport back with expected stamping
Dec 13th - Spouse H4 CEAC status changed but still in AP
Dec 15th- H4 ceac status changed again but still in AP
Dec 18th- H4 ceac status changed to issued. ustraveldocs shows passport still with embassy.
Any of you guys regardless of F1 or H1 or dependent, who were interviewed around the same time and in similar situation, Please let here know. I'd like to discuss more and would help in estimating how long it might take. I've travel plans and have to be in U.S by mid jan 2018, but with my spouse passport stuck in embassy, not able to plan properly. Any suggestions or help is appreciated.

I interviewed for h1b stamping in Hyderabad on Nov 22. I had gone to the US on a h4 visa and converted it to F1 cos. I completed my masters and got my OPT but never returned to India during this period for stamping. I was working for a company on OPT meanwhile I changed the company because the first company was not sponsoring my H1. My new company sponsored my H1 while i was still on OPT period so I was never out of status.I came for stamping. Here the interview went well but VO said that he didn't have info related to my masters in his system and he needed to verify that. He put my case on administrative processing. My case has not been updated since nov 22. My college said my SEVIS is perfectly up to date. I have a very good record I am not sure why this is taking so much time. Anyone else has gone through this? Anyone who came for h1b stamping without a F1 stamp. Please reply..
Update: last updated date changed on dec 13 then on 15th. 18th the status changed to Issued.

Background -
Working as a direct hire for a tech firm in NYC.
Situation -
On 11/16/2017 - Dropped off my passport for 3rd H1 renewal at Bangalore dropbox office.
On 11/22/2017 - Was notified that passport was ready for pickup when I looked there was no Visa and a Blue slip was attached. Was requested to appear in person at Chennai for an interview. No documents requested.
On 11/24/2017 - Appeared for an interview at Chennai
VO told me she was not sure why the application was flagged as everything looked good. She went ahead and asked me few questions about Job location, profile etc..
Was told I would get the passport by 12/04/2017 at the latest and haven't seen any updates.
Hoping the status will change soon. Good luck everyone.

My wife and kid attended H4 and were handed 221g white slip. Passport are with embassy and no additional documents were asked. Still waiting for the update. Might have to cancel their flight tickets for the next week :(
UPDATE : Finally my wife and kid's H4 visas have been approved and I collected passports. The case was pending for 2 months. I reached out to local congresswomen who had her assistant follow up with Consulate on the status. We were called the next day to produce one document and as soon as we did, the visa status was changed to ISSUED. Looks it is worth following up with local congressmen if the case has been pending for long time.

Had an F-1 Visa and was transferring to H1. I gave my Visa Interview on 20th October and surprisingly was handed a 221g White Slip and told that they needed more information before processing my Visa. It took a few days for me to get the required documents together, get it reviewed by the Legal team and then i submitted the documents on 8th November. There was no change in my status untill 10th December. And then on 12th December, i received an e-mail to submit my passport for further processing.On 14th , i received an e-mail from the Consulate saying that my Passport has been returned. The Visa was stamped on 14th December and i picked up my passport on 17th of December.

I have got a 221g and I have asked to submit details about my project. My company has submitted the details about my project and there has been no status update as of 16th December. In the 221g form they have also mentioned I can reapply for the interview and submit the missing details. I spoke to my attorney and he did not recommend it. Any advise on the matter?
