1) I am a researcher. My research comes under TAL.VISA interview on Sept 16, 2016. [Interview went well with few questions]
VO gave white slip (221g) and asked me to submit the mentioned documents on the given email ID
2) Documented submitted on same day i.e. on Sept 16, 2016. Received automated reply
Requested documents: resume, list of publications, travel history for last 10 years, etc.
3) Received a reply on Sept 19, 2016 to submit additional information e.g. detailed past and future research, spouse's CV, research etc. (Invitation letter to be in .pdf format & all other information in word format)
4) Submitted the updated information on Sept 20, 2016. Received automated reply.
5) Status on Sept 21, 2016: Administrative Processing (AP)
6) Status on Oct 13, 2016: AP is completed. Received mail to submit Passport for final processing.
7) Status on Oct 18, 2016: Issued (@CEAC site)
8) Status on Oct 19, 2016: Your passport is ready for pickup (@TravelDocs site)

3rd Oct: Passport returned with White slip asking to appear at the Consulate to provide Fingerprint Verification
Oct 5th: Provided Fingerprint
Oct 17th: Status updated
I had called the customer service for updates on Oct 17th morning could the status update be just an indication of that or is it just a coincidence?
I have not seen any case online where someone received a white slip just for Fingerprint verification. If there is someone else on the same boat please let me know.

hi all,
Its been 90 days now, no update from consulate yet , got 221g saying additional administrative processing is required, they just took my client letter and my client was verified to validate the client letter and this was done in july itself, still waiting anyone with similar situation.
I have called NVC and consulate too but got same standard reply saying we cant tell you the time frame for AP.
I have my h1b till march of 2017, will they be giving visa for 5 months, don't know what to do any suggestions please?
Finally I Thanks God, Got an email on September 30th to submit my passport and the status changed to issued on October 5th and collected my passport with Visa Stamped in it. I had no issues at POE too.
Finally my advise is to send reminders to consulate ever month after 60 days and tell your employer to email the consulate too and after 3 - 4 months you will receive a reply from the consulate if your documents are all Genuine.

9/20 - Interview was OK. Consulate told me that my case require additional processing and he kept my passport.
9/28 - No updates, No mails. still showing "Administrative Processing" with latest status date as 9/20.
9/29 - Status updated date changed to 9/29 but showing the same status. DON'T KNOW WHAT IT MEANS.
9/30 - Friday, Status changed to "ISSUED". No documents submitted.
10/3 - Monday, At 10 AM got mail that my passport is ready for pick up.
10/4 - Picked up the passport. Got visa stamped for 10 Years.
