Hi, I attended interview on Oct-15 at Chennai consulate for H1B. I work on EVC model. The VO asked my Employer name, Client name and if i have a middle vendor. I gave true reply. I was asked for client letter, MSA with the middle vendor, W2. I was asked to wait for 2.5 hrs and I was given a blue slip with no documents maked by VO. He just told there is no ned to submit any documents and it is in Admin processing and they need some time. Its nearly 2 months and the site shows "Administrative Processing" since Oct 15. Passport was not collected. Anyone who attended during the same time had this issue and is there any update?
29/12/2015- Still waiting.. No update.. Call to consulate gives me the standard reply..
12/1/2016- Got email to submit Passport
13/1/2016- Submitted Passport
Consulate Holidays 15 to 18 Jan
19/1/2016- First status Update in ceac website. Status still AP
20/1/2016- Visa status "ISSUED" in ceac website
21/1/2016- Passport received with Visa.

I have a computers background, so I was surprised why I was given the 221G. Maybe a STEM issue.
Asked basic questions, what is your company responsibilities, salary, position name and as soon as she heard I had an MS in CS, gave me the green form and asked me to submit docs online and returned my passport.
Interview was on 11th Dec, submitted docs on 17th Dec.
Update: 1/12 - Got an email request to send passport, CEAC website still has the stale update date.
Update: 1/14 - Dropped off passport today
Update: 1/19 - Status Updated (Still says AP)
Update: 1/20 - Status changed to Issued. Collected passport same day.

1/20/2016: Status updated to Issued, date 20 Jan. Passport still with consulate.
1/21/2016: Passport collected on Jan 21.. ustraveldocs website still showed status as waiting for Blue Dart to pick up from VFS Mumbai, but the passport had already arrived at the designated pick up location. Make sure you call up VFS to get the airway bill no, their website tracker may be updated very slowly.

I attended the interview on 2nd December and got 221g for submitting the project description. I submitted the same on 16th December. From then onwards there is no change in the status. Only the Status updated date got updated in last week but no change in the status. Also if I try to check the passport tracking tool with my passport# then it's showing that there is no status update for this passport#.
Is anyone facing the similar situation or has any idea about this?

Hi everyone,
I would like to share my H1b renewal experience at Chennai Consulate.
Finger printing : 02/Nov/2015
VI : 03/Nov/2015 - After asking basic visa related questions. I was provided 221g and requested to provide current project related docs, employer tax docs and all employee details in notarized format.
My employer submitted all these requested documents to Chennai consulate via email to Chennai H&L as requested on 221g blue form on Dec 3rd 2015, however there's no status update for that!! (employer only got automated email)
However there was no status update on CEAC tracker apart from same visa interview date.
Case Creation Date: 02-11-2015
Status Updated Date: 03-11-2015
Only way I can get status update is via NVC.
So, here's the two status updates I got so far.

On 12th received email from consulate asking for client information phone number, email-id etc.
Till now, no response.

I am joining a leading tech company headquartered in the US. My job location will be Singapore, but I will be going to the US for onboarding. I think the officer wasn't convince of this situation.
After 21 days of administrative processing, they asked for proof of employment with my last employer, which I had at the time of interview itself! I have sent it immediately through VFS.

I think the visa would have issued within 2-3 weeks, but due to the Christmas/new year/MLK Bday it got delayed.

I came back to India for H1b stamping and received it without any 221G in September. I had lost my passport on 23Nov with the valid Visa stamp. I got a passport within a week and went for interview at the Kolkata Consulate on the 22nd of December. The VO asked me to sign a form stating that I have lost my passport with a Visa stamp. Then the VO said everything looks good and they need admin processing. Then someone fro ma different window came and asked me for my resume and a questionnaire and was asked to email them which I did on the very same day. The officer said it's going to take 2-3 weeks or more. There were three of us who were called nd one of them was F1. They also retained my passport and the letter from the Immigration Attorney of my company.
