Was qualified for an interview wavier. Submitted my passport and when I went to pick up my passport, was asked to come for an interview.
Went for the interview the next day on 14th Jan and after some questioning, was asked to submit some documents (resume, research letter etc.) because they wanted to do some investigation regarding the "nature of my work", asI switch my program from MS to PhD and my PhD work falls under their Technology Alert List.

I had submitted document for the dropbox on 12/2 in which I received blue slip to appear for interview. When I went for interview, interview was straightforward but the VO handed over yellow slip to me.
Update:
Received the stamped passport on 02/13. Had received the passport submission email a week before. Please keep the patience and you'll get through. Thanks a lot forum for sharing the updates and guiding me.

After looking at this for few seconds
(2) Show me your client latter?
I said I don't have it. VO asked why and I told that I am sorry but I was not made aware by my organisation if it was required document. He said that whoever told you is wrong and it is required so I won't be able to approve your visa without one.
Then VO started asking all the regulation questions like US location, marriage date, US salary and my work profile. He did not ask any question to my wife and handed me blue slip asking to upload client latter and complete petition and returned my passports.
It took one month for me to get client latter and uploaded it on 30th Jan.

-- Received mail from usdocs on 20th Feb 10:30 PM to submit passport via VAC courier services
-- Collected stamped passports on 2nd March

I have attended H1B visa interview at Chennai consulate on Jan 22 2020.Interview questions were general and went well, consulate retained my passport , copy of i797 and copy of client letter, however received 221g blue slip marking administrative process.
After a week I received my passport back without stamp along with 221g copy ( admin process checked) and i797 copy.My case was created on Jan 21 2020 and last update was on Jan 22 2020, I checked with my client and employer regarding verification, so far no update..please let me know if anyone came across such situation and how long it took to get the approval?

This was my first H-1B stamping. Section 221(g) was likely applied because aerospace engineering (my area of work) is included in the Technology Alert List. It took six weeks from the submission of additional documents to the visa issuance. In comparison, it took three weeks when 221(g) was applied to my F-1 visa seven years ago.
The interviewer asked basic questions (educational degrees, job designation, salary) and handed back my passport and a white-color 221(g) sheet. I received an email 6 hours after the interview requesting me to submit (via email) my CV, research details, list of publications, and a letter from my company explaining my job duties.
