Went to India for H1B stamping, here is my case history
Been in the USA for over 16 years, came in as F1 16 years ago, converted to H1B 14 years ago, worked as FTE for direct reputed companies, never worked through consulting firms always FTE
Currently working as Director of SE. Have multiple approved 140's from previous companies, GC date not current yet.
Went to Mumbai consulate with wife on H4 for Visa interview. VO asked standard questions and said Visa approved, VO collected passport.
Then came the shock!
Email received the same night of visa interview stating
Your application for Nonimmigrant visa refused under Sec 221(g)
Biometric Date : 5th Jan 2020
Visa Interview : 6th Jan 2020
Email received to fill DS5535: 6th Jan 2020 (221g Case refused email)
DS5535 Submitted : 8th Jan 2020
Email received to request to submit passport : 14th Jan 2020

Appeared for Stamping interview on 12th September. Got 221g blue slip whereby the visa officer requested for supporting documents like client letter, federal tax returns, I-129, I797 etc.
Employer submitted documents on 24th September
Recieved reminder email from embassy that they have not recieved the documents on 2nd November
Employer again submitted docs on 6th November. I email embassy to check if they recieved and they immediately responded that they didn't.
Again submitted focuments on 8th november and recieved standard acknowlegment too within 5 minutes
Again emailed the embassy to recieve confirmation from them but no response
Today its 18th November but we have not recieevd any notification from the embassy. neither has the updated date changed on CEAC website. it continues to show 12th September which was the original date of stamping interview.
is anybody else on the same boat. Any suggestion how should we proceed ahead. How long am i expected to wait till something happen

VO: handed over a 221g pink slip asking me to only send my latest resume in pdf format to the mail id given on the pink slip and told me you can leave now, have a good day, all the best
me: walked away without thanking her (my passport and i20 got hold by the consulate)
I sent the resume on the same day, checking my email daily, deferred my admit to fall2020 and finally got it approved after 32 days of wait. Collected my passport the next day but I didn't get my old i20.

Pink slip with 221g was given to me after several questions regarding my background. I work for a drone Robotics company. I was given a 221g in 2018 February as well and this looks like a repeat. Last time it took a month to come through.

Jan27th: It's been 39 days today and I haven't even seen a status date change yet.
Jan 27th: Later in the night, status date was updated but no change in status

went to visa interview on 20Th Dec at chennai .Interviewer asked basic questions like Employer name, work pay-slips etc and she told me that the date of my H1 validity is different from her portal and my DS-160 and she told its already expired . I told there is only one and confirmed the receipt number and took out my original i797 copy and gave her for conformation. she verified and went on with couple more questions . Finally she told everything looks good but need to verify the dates and gave me a Blue 221G. Refrained my passport and also the I797. Its been 3 weeks and still didn't receive any responce. Case last updated on 27th Dec but there is no change
Case updates on 9 th January but still in AP
Case updated on 17th January but still in AP.
Not sure why this is taking this long while all others got their passport
