Finally done. AOS MARRIAGED BASED Interview
Cincinnati, Oh
PD FEB 2020
Approved on the spot today on Jan 21,2021. Be patient guys. Go over your documents and try to relax and you’ll be fine! Many blessings! ✨💓
Hey guys as explained on my previous message. Our interview was scheduled for January 12th 2020, unfortunately on the January 11th 2020 my wife was in labor to give birth, our law Lawyer immediately called USCIS around 6pm on January 11th to cancel the appointment and reschedule. On January 12th around 10am, I received an email from USCIS that our appointment was cancelled and that they will let us know when it's reschedule. On my greatest surprise, on January 13th, I received another email from USCIS saying our interview has been rescheduled that a letter has been sent to us. We just received the mail today and we have been rescheduled for February 25th. Is that normal to be rescheduled just after one day of cancellation? I thought it was gonna take months for us to get another interview date.
Hey guys.... I have my interview coming up soon and I got arrested and charge for ***disorderly conduct *** late last year, the case is suppose to get dismissed but they keep pushing back the court date because of COVID and it’s a minor case. What do you guys think my judgement could be or what advice can anyone give to me?
Adjustment of status I-485 Spouse of green card holder
Hello Everyone,
Sorry if this question was asked before, but I could not find it.
So the story is that I'm a green card holder and my wife at that time had a valid B2 visa, we got married in July 2019, and filed for adjustment of status I-485 in the second week of August.
April '20 - my wife got the work authorization and advance parole.
December 3rd - we had the interview.
At the interview they said we don't have all of the documents, though we had everything that was requested on the form, I explained that we filed everything by ourselves and didn't know that need to bring additional documents. The immigration officer said that she will still proceed with the interview but still will need time to review the files. The interview went well, we had and photo album about our life journey from day 1 we meet to the presend, my wife told the whole story about us, it went very smoothly. After the interview, the officer said in 2 weeks we should receive a letter regarding our case.
December 4th, 2020 - I130 approved
Today January 21st, 2021the officer called us and said that our application i-485 can't be approved because we missed the visa bulletin which was in June 2019, and need to reapply for I-485, though I remember that the visa bulletin was extended to September 2019 but I can't find the resource where I can point to her.
Anyone else had this issue, is the officer right, we missed the dates?

Hey guys, I am new here and I have an interview coming up on February 2nd, 2021. For this interview, I have several questions that I want to get answers to and advice from you guys.
1. From April to May 19th, I worked at my current employment with no paycheck, but they provided us housing and after EAD approval, I start working with paycheck with housing and utility. I asked my lawyer and he said it is hard to see as unauthorized work, since I do not get any paycheck, but I need to explain that I was volunteered in my workplace to work until I got an EAD approved and he said since I am married to USC, your work should be forgiven and it should be no issue. Is that correct?
2. I have actually enrolled in Medicaid only for emergency service. This is the reason why I enrolled Medicaid, my wife was pregnant and miscarried from November to the end of December, the purpose of this was to cover her medical bills from her pregnancy/miscarriage. When I was applied for my wife, I was thinking that having the same Medicaid will be good evidence of our bonafide marriage, but at that time, I did not even know it is part of the public charge. But even though, I applied and enrolled Medicaid that is emergency only, I still had my private health insurance from United Health care, and I never used my Medicaid on my hospital visit, because I already have my private insurance that covers my bills. Now, I am about to withdraw my application today actually. Will this count as public benefit received and give me a trouble in my interview? I saw that this new public charge rule will not be applied for the application that is filed before Feb. 24, 2020, but the word USCIS used was so confusing it is hard to understand.
3. We as a couple have a low-income, under poverty guideline. These are the reason, first, I graduated from my undergrad in April, and I start working part-time on my current job but the salary is low because my salary package, includes housing and utility bills, which is around $1,300 per month and also I am hired as Adjunct University professor which is a part-time position. Second, my wife just graduated with Elementary Ed major and she just got a new full-time job two weeks ago. But in December, she was in the position of student teaching, which school does not allow student teacher to work, so we technically had 0 income from her. When we applied for I-485, we asked my parent-in-law to be our I-864 co-sponsor since my wife was a student and has almost no income. We actually earned around $16,000 from last year, but this year, with my wife's new job, we are estimating to get over 25-30k per year salary, with no mortgage, car payment, no credit debt, just over 15k student debt from my wife. Will this flag officer think that we will become a public charge in the future or financially not self-sufficient?
4. My wife and I actually had three weddings: The first wedding was a civil wedding to start our process of I-485, but we did not live together. Our original plan was to have a big wedding in May 2020, but you know there was a thing called Covid, so we had to cancel our wedding and work around the Covid. The second wedding was a small religious wedding with just her family and her best friend in April. After this wedding, we moved to our current house in Indiana and live together. The last wedding was big celebration with friends, families, photographers, and videographers in June 2020. My attorney said if you guys know the exact date and what happened at each wedding, which my wife and I both well know, this will be fine for our interview. What should we answer when the officer asks what is your wedding date and what is it look like? Should we just say all three weddings that happened?
5. My wife and I were living in the dorm at the University of Indiana until March. Because of Covid, we moved down to Kentucky where my wife's parent lives and I changed the address from Indiana to Kentucky, and I got a courtesy notice about my I-693 while I was in Kentucky. In April, after our second wedding, we moved back to Indiana, I also changed my address back to Indiana. I got the receipt of the address change and also got a Combo card in the mail and an interview notice. But when I checked my interview location, it was not in Indianapolis, but it was scheduled at Louisville. I talked to my attorney and they said they never experienced this thing before. Does anyone have any idea, what is the reason that I scheduled in Lousiville, not Indy?
6. My attorney filed all the applications for me, do I need to bring a copy of the application for I-485, I-765, I-131, and I-130 for my interview?
I know this is such a long post, thank you for your help. You guys are awesome.
Hey guys. Had my interview this morning and it was smooth and when he called my wife asked about 3 questions and he gave her a white paper saying the case must be review and he didn’t even check the evidence that we have with us
What does that mean.
Just sharing my experience with you guys, if you believe your case is OUT OF PROCESSING TIME with USCIS, then after submitting multiples requests you have no updated, try with "Ombudsman Case Assistance" they will help you by contacting USCIS to know what's wrong with your case. I filed my I-130 for my wife back in 2018, in 2020 we received a RFE, after submitting all documentations, nothing updated. I used this service (CIS Ombudsman) few weeks ago and last night we got a letter scheduling our I-130 interview for next month after waiting for almost three years. Thanks
