DACA
Any DACA recipients traveling this week or after Jan 20th please let me know how it went. I am hoping to be approved soon but I'm afraid to get stuck out of the US. I have an infant and toddler here :'-( and can't afford to leave them alone!

Travel on AP with dismissed misdemeanor charge
Hello Friends,

I got my AP and wants to travel out of country but I am worried. I have dismissed misdemeanor charge for "unlawful sale of ephedrin compound over the counter" in retail. but I never convicted. So my lawyer is confident for my re-entery in US and asked me to just keep the court disposition or dismissal letter with me and give it to C.B.P upon requested. So did anyone go thru this kind of situation and made sucessful re-entery in US on AP? Your advise will give me some relief. Thank you.

need advice
okay guys so I need some input, I don't know if I want to schedule an infopass appointment and see what they can do for me about my Advance parole application here's my timeline

December 7th--USCIS received your case
January 11th-- your request to have your case expedited referral number ....... was assigned to an officer for response
January 11th-- we sent a response to your request to have your case expedited referral number .....
they also emailed me on January 11th and it said they received my request to expedite but that my case was already being reviewed by an officer but they informed him of my request to expedite and to contact them if I don't hear back in 30 days.
January 14th your request to have your case expedited referral number ...., was completed

and that's all.

on Friday January 20th I called to talk to a tier 2 officer and they called me back he was nice but said he had no information that the update from January 14th didn't mean they had completed and decided on my case to be expedited that all it meant was that my request was completely put in, like that they received it. I im in no rush to go to my country for any other reason other than my great grandmother who is 94 years old has gotten worse and obviously because of her age she might not make it too long. I would really like to see her and for my kids who are the youngest generation to see her since shes the only living person from all of our family. well that's the reason for my expedite request. with that being said the closest infopass office is 1 hour and 30 minutes away and I will need tme off work to go there should I or should I not schedule the appointment and if yes how can they help me?

thank you so much I feel comfortable enough to ask this here because this is a great page.

Case expedite
Good morning,

I am planning on expedite my case for AP.
is there a way to do it on writing instead of just calling them?
I am pretty sure they will ask for evidence for the reason that I want to expedite my case.

Any suggestions?
P.s my case is in the Nebraska office.

Advance Parole case received 9/22/16
Hello, my name is Jessica. I'm applied for advance parole my case was received on 9/22/16. I waited until December 29,2016 and my case was still pending. I decided to contact USCIS and spoke with an agent over the phone. She advice me the place that has my case is delayed 3 months on approving cases and most likely I was going be approved March. The reason of my application for AP is for my grandfather who is currently ill. I decided to call again and spoke with a nice lady over the phone she helped me expedite AP over the phone. She informed me I will receive a email if it was approve or decline. Five days later I received an email (didn't say approve or decline). The next day I checked my statues and it was approved. I received my AP on 1/9/17 which I regret not leaving right away. I bought my ticket for 1/22/17--2/5/17. Last night I cancel my flight because I was informed the president will announce something about the daca students Monday 1/23/17. Let's all stay positive and hope for the best. Remember the day we loose hope that's the day we stop dreaming.

Experience entering the U.S. on advanced parole
Just wanted to share my experience on entering the U.S. using the combo card. I got approved on October of 2016 after filling for permanent resident through marriage. Since I got approved, I decide to go to my home country to visit my family. I left on December 10th and came back today, on January 20th. So today I came from Brazil and landed at Dallas DFW airport. My plane arrived at 5:20 am, so there were not a lot of people in the immigration line. The officer asked me how long I was gone and why I left, so I told him that I went to visit my family. He also asked where I lived and what did my husband do for working and if I worked. Next he asked me to wait on a secondary room. Once there, I waited for about 10 minutes or so. The other officer called my name and asked me what type of visa I had before applying for my green card. No more questions asked, so he handed me my papers and let me go. The whole process was smooth, but I got to confess that I was worried and a bit nervous. So if you haven't done anything illegal, you should be fine using your AP. I hope that I could have helped you a little by sharing my experience. And good luck to all on your process and coming back. If you have any question, I will be glad to answer.
