When my turn comes it was 19 No window and i dont' see that vo before.
so here it goes

here is my conclusions
1. Fear and difficulties of getting visa is nothing. We must find inner peace and chakra balancing. We must have a valid reasons and show the true intensions that we belongs to India and once our work / pleasure is done in usa we will returns asap.
2. Confidenace and easy speaking is must.
3. No need to be fancy, just be natural and let it goes
4. They wants to understand that visit is not only beneficary for indian company but for a foregin company.
5. They have to admit that we had strong ties to our home country.
6. We need to understand that there is no quota or amount that everyday someone will get x amount acceptance and x amount refuse of visa.
7. I wear my jacket and jeans , looks like a serious business guy not only from my cloths but from my speaking and attitude too.
Thanks a lot. Immi helps me a lot. This one is for you.
I got US B1/B2 Visa in February 2016 and I have not travelled yet. Now am planning to go. If I go now any problem will create.
Secondly my wife and my two children age 10 and 11 visa got rejected. They went together my wife and children. Now again I want to reapply together. They will ask them about me why I have not gone to US so long and in their record will be there in their system.
Please help me and give me advice what should I do.
you can carry your bag, mobiles with you inside the building and can leave it with the printer/Xerox shop at the ground floor (no personalized locker, but they charge you for it). you have to just carry print outs of your appointment letter, DS -160 form and passport. Once you are through the document check and security check, they will give you a token for your biometrices. The screen will show your booth number as per your token number. Biometrics takes hardly 2 mins (make sure you give a proper smile - this is the photo which will come on your visa) and ya, if you want to use the washroom, its next to the booth no 16. I was out in 15-20 mins. Do not take the take the autos from outside the building, they charge you like crazy and run a cartel. Its better you walk out to main road and get a auto or book a cab if you have your phone with you.
Visa Interview - 19 th November - Chennai - US Consulate
If you reach the place, 30-45 mins before your scheduled time, that should be enough. There is a place where you an keep your belongings (Not personalized, but useful for folks coming from other cities )After security check and one last biometric confirmation, then i was in line for the interview. The line is was long and congested ( i probably was in the line for 40 mins). Finally my turn came and then
Questions asked
VO: why do you want to go to US, sir?
ME: Answered, for conference as speaker.
VO: what company do you work for ?
ME: Answered
VO: why you ?
ME: i submitted the paper and my paper got selected
VO: How long you have you been in the current company ?
ME: 4 and half years
VO: Where in US?

ME: Thank you
No documents were asked and i collected my VISA from VAC today and it is for 10 years. Yay!
It was my first time and it was important for me. Immihelp was the only source where i could get some details, thats why i tried to provide every detail i could. The long queue can get you tired and nervous, but do not let that happen to you. Your interview will be hardly for a minute, make sure you keep same tone throughout the interview ( not too low or not too excited). Be clear and concise while answering. you to have make them believe that you are the correct person (not supervisor). It certainly helps if you have more experience in the present company and if you are going for shorter duration. Thank you for your time and All the best folks.
Questions asked
-----------------------
1) where are you working
2) place you are going
3) what is the purpose of travel
4) what would you discuess in the meeting.
5) what is your annul salary
6) How long you will stay
7) are you married
Answered all of them and She Approved my visa.
=======================================
There was applicant , had his interview just before me and could see VO approved his B1 though he was not answering the Basic questions, applicant could tell client location and HQ office location, she was helping him to her all this info.
Finally she approved.
This clears that VO does not reject the application casually / for fun. I believe that they help / approve if all the info provided and found is matching / facts.
First of all I would like to thank immihelp for proving such helpful platform for all of us.
I had appeared for Visa interview on October 17,2016,it was about 2 mins and was denied under section 214(b).
Visa Officer has asked me below questions.
VO: Where are you going?
Me: I am going to YYYY location
VO: How long you will be there?
Me: I will be there for 4 weeks
VO: What is the purpose of your visit?
Me: To meet SME's and IT team and to attend knowledge acquisition sessions for xxx project.
<<Same is mentioned in my invitation letter.>>
VO: Do you have invitation letter?
Me: Yes. Passed client invitation letter to him.
VO: What is your company name?
Me: My company name is YYYY
VO: How long you are working there?

VO: What is your designation? Asked this question twice during my interview.

Me: No Sir
VO: Are you going alone?
Me: Yes,I am going alone.
Then he has gone through my invitation letter & application for 20 seconds, then told that "sorry sir,I cannot issue visa today" and gave me green slip which has below reason.
"You did not meet the requirements of the classification of the nonimmigrant visa for which you applied".
My employer had provided me all the necessary documents, but he hasn't asked me for any except invitation letter.
What could be the reasons for my rejection? Can I reapply visa again. Will it be rejected again if I apply after 2 months?
Me and my boss applied for it. Everything was smooth. I was not nervous at all and full confident.
Good Morning Sir,

I said yes,
VO to my boss: So when did you start your company?
Boss: Answered.
VO: How did you come to know about exhibition?
Boss: I am manufacturer plus trader of many items, so one of my party told me about this.
This was the questions he asked to us. Then he went to discuses to other VO (may be)for 2-3 mint. Then he come back, after 5-8 sec he again gone. He did this for 3 times.
He finally come and take our passports in their hand. Then he take my boss passport and said him to i am going to approve you visa, and said to me to try next time. :(
I had heard that, if we apply in a group or pair, we both got visa or we both got rejected. I must say it was just a hearsay. My boss answered only two questions, and he got visa..

VO: How long have you been working in the company?

* No documents were asked
Keys:
1. Filling out the DS Form completely and honestly is a must. This will make things easier for you during the interview. They will ask questions and validate mostly from the form you filled out.
2. Answer only what was asked and be confident!
3. Based on observation, there are a couple of college courses that are red flags for the VO (Mostly from nurses to therapists), not to discriminate but they will have to really prove beyond reasonable doubt that they are coming back.
4. It helps if you were able to visit a few countries already
On 6 Oct 16
I: Very good morning Sir.
VO: Very good morning sir you too.
VO: Give me your passport.
I: I provided.
VO: Whom you are going there?
I: <<Company Name>> + Contact Person, I answered.
VO: How much experience you have?
I: 7 Year
VO: In Current Company?
I: 5 year
VO: Why are you travelling?
I: Answered in two line - To attend Technical Conference & Workshop organized by xxxx company.
(I kept invitation letter in my hand, but he didnt ask for it, Meanwhile He was reading my profile filled in form on his computer also gone through some visa which were already stamped on passport).
VO: have you been traveled in US before?
I: No.
VO; how long you will be staying there.
I: 5 days
He kept typing something something, I was trying to read his keyboard finger just to guess what he is typing and also was waiting for more questions.
I could see two words 'R' and 'E", so thought - you can understand - Its lost ..... But Thank God!
VO: Ok see you there.. Thank you.
(He kept my passport)
I: Thank you so much sir.
My views on interview, since I was also observing other people interview:
- if someone is married, have more work experience more than 5 year, some visas are already stamped on his passport, person has traveled some other countries before, and have good education are preferred.
- yes, for sure speak with confidence there. Do not lie anything with them - seems they are trained to be psychiatrist also to judge person.
- Answers should be short & informative
- Answers should be in easy language/ easy form i.e. should not contain much technical terms etc since they are not bothering what technical you know or you will be gathering. They are judging your attitude & profile.
- I also felt that, There could be some internal marking system when we fill the form then some automatic marking system could be there to assign marks to our profile. i.e. cold be based on our qualification, profession, experience, number of days we travelling, purpose, profile completeness etc etc
This marking system might have given marks to our profile to see how potential candidate/ applicable candidate I am . After that Interview is there to validate and final decision.
See, this is my just guess, I am not sure. I am guessing it since they also need to write reason for rejection or approval. They dont do rejection/ approval blindly, this was my observation. For sure criteria are there.
