RFE August filer
Hi All

Finally the RFE got home. I forgot to attach photos to my original request (my bad! so shameful).

Now the question is, I know I made a trip for Christmas so my i94 should be outdated as well but they are not asking for that so I have a dilemma, should I send only what they're asking for or should I be proactive and send the new i94. Any thoughts?

Timeline is looking like this at the moment (Vermont spouse of L1)
Aug 1st filed the request
Aug 6th they sent received notice
Jan 15th they sent RFE
Jan 18th I got the letter

L2 EAD extension is taking way too long
Hello everyone,
I applied for l2 ead extension on June 14th, applied for ead extension on nov 15th2019. They asked for rfe I sent all supporting documents. I heard from a forum that i539 needs to be expedited first only after that is approved ead extension will be considered, so I went ahead to apply for that on dec 19th. They again asked for supporting documents through post which was mailed to me on dec 19th and I received only in Jan 13th( I haven’t been able to reach contact center or had any updates on the site) , now radio silent!! Should I raise a service request? Or what should I do? Can anyone help please I’m off work now, let me know. Thanks!

RFIE because of EAD Expedite
Hello everyone,

I submitted an EAD expedite 12/23 and on 01/14 got a "Request for Initial Evidence" for my I485. The evidence they're asking for is submitting my tax return for the "previous tax period" for the i864. Does this mean 2018 or 2019 - since we're technically in 2020 now?

I'm hoping to get the EAD expedited soon and it'll be a while before I file my taxes for 2020.

Thank you!

EAD vía AOS
Hi there,

Has anyone got experience / timeline regarding EAD applications filed via AOS, in the California centre?

We submitted ours in September 2019 and still waiting to hear anything back.
Would love to understand current timeline of approvals - we got told in September that approvals will take between 3 to 4 months.

Anyone with good / bad stories please share, this is keeping me awake at night and any advise or expectations setting will be great to hear.

Reading some stories below, some July applications in California have been approved. Is anyone here form May or June still waiting for their EAD to come through?

Thanks!

L2 EAD pending - employment query
Filed my L2 EAD renewal on 10-dec-2019. Current EAD will expire 31-Jan-2020. I am currently employed by a international megacorp (Fortune 100), which means it has international entities and offices in practically all countries.

My understanding is that I can’t work on “US soil” without EAD (pls correct me if this assumption verbatim is wrong or if it has a broader meaning).

Question:

1. till EAD is pending, can My company’s US legal entity (where I am currently employed and being paid from) still pay me in my current US bank account while I “physically” move to another country and continue my work as is (home or another country with its work visa) = I am not on US soil till I get my EAD ..... path of least disruption.

1a. Same as 1 - but if I also get a different bank account in another country, does it help?

2. If my company moves me to another country with a work visa (say Canada, UK, India), my pay source will be a foreign legal entity of my company. In that case, can I physically be in US and work for that foreign entity? And can that foreign legal entity still pay me me in my US account as it is right now?

Appreciate advice from the community in light of the torturous and degrading wait times for EAD these days which affects us all professionally and financially.

Got my Greencard...YAY!!!
Hello All,

All thanks to God and the experiences shared on this forum, I finally got my Greencard in hand today. The experiences shared really helped me in keeping hope alive. I am praying for all those who are still in the process that your cards would come through by God's grace...Amen.

Let me share my timeline and experience below:

Married to Greencard holder
4 Sep 2018 -> I-130 PD
15 Jul 2019 -> I-131/I-765/I-485
30 Jul 2019 -> Biometrics completed
4 Oct 2019 -> I-130 transferred from California Service Center to NBC
5 Nov 2019 -> Expedited request raised based on financial loss to company and self (Provided job offer letter and letter from company)
8 Nov 2019 -> Faxed supporting documents to USCIS
21 Nov 2019 -> Expedite request approved
22 Nov 2019 -> EAD combo card approved and sent for printing
26 Nov 2019 -> EAD combo card mailed out
30 Nov 2019 -> EAD combo card in hand
12 Dec 2019 -> Received Interview notice

10 Jan 2020 -> Completed interview and Greencard approved on the spot
15 Jan 2020 -> Greencard mailed out
17 Jan 2020 -> Card in hand

Our interview was simple and straightforward. Most of the questions were directed towards my wife (petitioner). Questions asked were what we filled in the I-130 and I-485. The agent made a couple of updates as we had changed addresses and jobs. Agent requested for supporting documents and we provided our wedding albums, lease agreement and joint account statements. (In my opinion, I believe most of the cases have been pre-judged before the interview).

I am so happy that the wait is finally over. Goodluck to everyone waiting out there. Your time would surely come.

Do have a great year ahead.

Is the congressman really helpful?
Hey everyone, so I sent in about two expedite requests that have gone unanswered and of course ignored. I decided to call my congressman’s office today and they said they would do an inquiry on my case to see. What’s going on and why USCIS has not responded to any omg requests. My question is; is the congressman’s inquiry really helpful?

EAD CONFUSSION
Hi friends, I am super confused...

I'm applying thru my daughter who is a US Citizen (I'm a C09 category)
According to the USCIS it takes between 5.5 to 7.5 to process a work permit.

We submitted the I-130 in July 30, 2019 and the application is being processed at the Texas center; According to the USCIS website it takes 8 to 10 months for the I-130 to be approved.

We submitted the I-765 and I-485 on 10-15-19, my question is Does the processing time for the work permit starts from when we submitted the application on 10-15-19 or does it start from when the I-130 gets approved?

Thank you so much in advance, I had high hopes to see my aging parents soon, but after reading the processing times I'm so discouraged and confused (granted I've been living in the US for 26 years without a status and it sucks)

Blessings!
