I-485 update
My status changed to “case ready to be scheduled for an interview”.

I know some people waited months to get an actual date for it, but lets hope this speeds up ead too.

June/July fillers this has to be the week!!!!!

Expedite request
Hi y'all.

PD: 07/22/19

Here is my question if someone can help. I called USCIS to expedite on medical grounds. They emailed me this morning asking to fax them the proof of a pending job offer. Which i do have luckily. But question is should i just send them the job offer letter alone or with the proofs of medical emergency docs too?

Please help if someone can. Thanks

Rfe
Hi guys,
Has anyone of you received your EAD without expediting when you had gotten an RFE on your I-485 before you sent the RFE documents to uscis or before the uscis even received your rfe reply?

Please let me know, cause I have recently got an rfe and I believe it’s the reason why they are delaying my EAD application but the customer service people say that i 485 and i 765 are handled differently thus one does not affect the other. Thank you 🙏

L2 EAD renewal
Hi everyone,

I wanted to share my experience on L2 EAD/I-765 renewal.

Initial confirmation receipt date 07/26/2019 from California Service Center.
Expedited request filed in mid December, 2018, recorded on 12/27/2019 in USCIS website.
Expedited request rejected due to insufficient evidence on 01/03/2020.
No further updates.

Processing times have changed and seems like it reverted back, i.e I-765 processing times in California center at the beginning of December-2019 was showing that processing for receipt date for a case inquiry was May 26, 2019 whereas now (01/05/2020) it showing May 18, 2020. Does not make much sense.
When called to submit Expedited request (in mid December) I was advised that currently reviewed cases were tracing back to receipt date of July 11, 2019.

Would be interested to hear if anyone else had experience with California's Service center recently.

Thanks,

Expediting I-765 While on CPT/OPT
Hi All,

Does anyone here have experience on expediting I-765 while on CPT/OPT?

I heard that they deny expedite case for such scenario saying that CPT/OPT is not a work authorization but to gain practical knowledge in the respective field. Hence, you should not be expecting to make money on such visas and it's not a financial hardship.

Please respond!

I sttumbled on this
https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/more-info
"The first number is the time it takes to complete 50% of cases (the median). The second number is the time it takes to complete 93% of cases."

So 7% of cases will always be outside of normal processing time BY DESIGN!!!
That means 1 out of every 14 people. That is why we are seeing cases from May and June here etc.

But it gets even worse.
if you read the page they say that they have a pilot program, from which they derive time from actual cases and it is fairly precise, but not all case types are covered.

For instance I-765 and I-131 (EAD and Travel Document) are not covered, so the range is gotten by:
"For non-pilot forms, we will continue to use our old method to calculate processing times, but will add an upper limit that is generally 130% of the processing time. "

Now I don't know what the "old method" is but since they are multiplying something by 1.3 to get the "case of inquiry time", it doesn't give me much confidence of high accuracy.
