Social Security Number Card after EAD
So I have read too many times and seen vidoes where applicants after receiving the EAD combo card, takes forever to get the Social when they request it on the 1765 form.

I requested that USCIS process a social for me through the Social Security Office on my form I765.

After I recieved my EAD I contacted USCIS Monday at which time the Representative told me I need to contact Social Security Office. Tuesday after the holiday Monday I called SSO and the lady took my full name and DOB and said a CARD IS NOT BEING PROCESS FOR ME. So I went straight to the office and applied for my social.
I was told I would get it in the mail 5 to 7 days.

I would be here waiting for the card through USCIS processing, maybe it would have come through that way, but would take a while (I don't know), as it didnt seem like priority on USCIS part to know I can't even use my EAD to get a job or driver's lic without a Social.

Be proactive...call to find out what happening don't just sit and wait.

All the best to you all!

Reading some of these last experiences...

What a mess a simple EAD benefit has become...

It’s like applying for a surgeon job with a high school diploma

Just called congressman’s office fingers crossed
Hey everyone

So I called my congressman’s office, at first they said they couldn’t expedite my request at all, then I had to explain my situation. Basically I have a medical condition, that requires constant doctors visits, expensive medication. I had eye surgery last year and my eye is still healing; they have to take stitches out etc; and monitor my other constantly. And I have to get medically necessary lenses which cost an arm and a leg. Also I have to travel because my father is having surgery soon. I explained my situation and the lady I spoke to said, it’s worth a try there’s really no guarantee. I have all the proof, the hospital bills, doctors visits; medical statements, and the money my husband has spent all in all towards my health issues. He has student loans, pays the rent, car note. It’s really been a strain on him and it’s affecting our relationship too.So do you guys think this will work, the lady did say I should fax all my evidence and write a letter as well to explain my situation and they will expedite on my behalf .

EAD/ I765 renewal
My EAD/I 765 renewal is stuck at Nebraska. PD is on July 17. Biometrics are done but still awaiting renewed card. This is through my spouses approved I140 application.
I also have an approved I-140 application filed by my own employer. Never applied for I-765 on this application. Should I file for a I-765 on my own I-140 application given delay in EAD renewal based on my spouse's application.

I know this may be a complicated question and grateful to anyone who is kind enough to answer it.

EAD/ I765 renewal
Are EAD/I765 renewals taking more time to get processed than the initial EAD processing. My receipt date for the EAD renewal is July 17. Biometrics done but still awaiting card.

l2 EAD timeline
Hi, my RD is July 01, 2019. Given my last EAD card expired in October, I can't work anymore. I told my previous employer that I should be able to get my EAD in early December. Looking at the timelines now - I am a bit confused and disappointed. I can see so many EADs that were filed after me are approved and so many before me are pending. Does someone know what is going on? How are they prioritizing the applications? What should I expect in terms of timeline?

EAD USCIS/lawyer discrepancy? Please give feedback.
Hi,

Filed w/ lawyer (green card marriage, NBC): 7/17
Biometrics: 8/16

Now to my question, my request to expedite was supported by my congresswoman, and on USCIS online account 10/16 it says my request was received. i also received an email saying:

"Case Status: Acceptance
On October 16, 2019, we received your request for expedited processing on your Form I765, APPLICATION FOR EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION, Receipt Number **** **. We are reviewing your request and will notify you if we need additional information."

Meanwhile, my lawyer says: "Your application is with an adjudicator. They’re making a decision on the applications themselves, not the expedite, which was already approved. If they approve the applications, USCIS will issue the EAD and Advanced Parole."

I don't understand this discrepancy, someone with experience that can assist? Also, is it "normal" to not hear back after request was approved 10/16?

Thanks,
Nils

July filer EAD C9
At Nebraska (I-485(husband's employment-based, I-765, I-131)
RD: July 15, 2019
Biometrics: Aug 20, 2019

My husband and I applied at the same time. His case was approved as of Nov 7th for both I-765 and I-131. His EAD card status shows "card has been mailed" as of Nov 12th.

While my case status shows "we waived your fees". I contacted USCIS office to expedite on the basis of pending job offer. I know that chances are very low to expedite on this basis, but the officer was very much willing to file this request so I went ahead. I'm thinking of contacting congressman to add to this expedite request.

What's funny is, my husband didn't even need his EAD urgently as his H1-B is valid til 2021 and not looking to change jobs. And I'm the one who has been eagerly waiting for EAD so I could start working. I asked for start date extension at my new job.
