EAD Timeline!
I have been reading for a while on this forum and you guys really kept my spirit up, so Thank you!

My situation is I have a job and had to take an unpaid absence at work due to my OPT expiring at the end of July. It would have been exactly 3 months out of work at the end of this week so I decided to take some actions last week. I contacted two senators' office and one congressman. One senator's staff was avoiding me (?!). The congressman's staff told me there is nothing he can do. And God bless me, the other senator's office was kind enough to even take an action with my case without knowing how USCIS would react. I can't thank her enough just for even looking at my case.

Here is my timeline

April 19, 2018 - USCIS Received my application( F1 Status, c(9) category - NBC)
April 23, 2018 - Withdrawal Money
May 23, 2018 - Fingerprint completed
June 18, 2018 - SR was raised and was denied
*waiting for the days to fly by and spending quality time with my husband and my doggy*
October 9, 2018 - contacted 1 congressman and 2 senators
October 10, 2018- 1 senator replied that she has contacted USCIS
October 11, 2018 - APPROVED!
October 15, 2018 - Approval notice in the mail. Online " We have mailed your card"

Still waiting for the physical card to arrive but this is more than wonderful.

I would encourage everyone to be proactive and be patient. Good luck!

GC EAD / AP Renewal
Processing Center: Nebrasks
Category - EB-1C (INDIA), C(09)
Renewal Application Date: 22 Aug 2018
Receipt Notification: 05 Sep 2018
Approval Date: 03.Oct.2018
Card in Hand: 12.Oct.2018

This was pretty surprising to me, given that when I originally applied for EB-1C, it took me around 8 months (Applied on 31.May.2017, card in hand on 19.Jan.2018). Not sure if other renewal cases are seeing accelerated processing? Also, I believe given that the I-140 was approved by this point, the approval was given for 2 years. The previous time, it was approved for only 1 year.

EAD Expedite
So I checked my status online after I received the email for evidence of expedite and this is the update I saw:

On October 15, 2018, your request to have your case expedited, referral number T1Sxxxxxxxx14MSC, was assigned to an officer for response.

On October 15, 2018, we sent a response to your request to have your case expedited, referral number T1Sxxxxxxxx14MSC.

On October 15, 2018, your request to have your case expedited, referral number T1Sxxxxxxx14MSC, was completed.

Can someone with similar experience please let me know what does this mean if it says my case was completed. I'm so frustrated at this point with the long wait. Thank you.

EAD Expedite
Hey guys,

So I requested to have my case expedited a few days ago. I got a response today for evidence of expedite. Is a job offer enough evidence for them to approve my case or I need to provide documents such as utility bills etc. to prove that we are suffering financially. Thanks for your response.

No word
Hi y’all. I feel like I’m losing my mind right now.

Timeline:

04/23 filed I-485, I-765 and I-130 with a lawyer
04/25 I-485 accepted
05/29 I-485 ready to be scheduled for an interviw

AND THAT’S IT. I’ll be outside normal processing time for the EAD IN A FEW DAYS, currently at 176 days. Service center at NBC for I-765 and Chicago for I-485. I don’t know what to do anymore, the lawyer is telling me to wait but I’m really running out of patience. I see a lot of cases that were filed waaay after mine that got their EAD and even went to the interview. Anyone have similar experience? Will the status just magically update before I’m outside normal processing time?

Green Card Journey
Hi, since I followed this thread the entire time my husband was waiting for his green card, I thought it would be only fair to help you guys with my timeline and interview questions.
9/17 - i130, i485 and i765 (Marriage based AOS)
10/17 - Received a request for initial evidence and sent back same month 10/17
3/18 - Work permit received (almost 6 months wait time)
8/18 - received a phone call from USCIS for my husband to get his medical done to prepare for interview
8/18 - Received interview notice in the mail
9/19 - Interview, one week later approval letter and green card received in mail

For those who are interested in our interview experience keep reading.

Interview Experience:
My husband and I were only married 1 year when our interview was conducted (in NYC). Our entire interview took about 1 hour. I came prepared with a photo album, utility bills in both names, car insurance in both names, my husband's paycheck stubs, joint bank account statements etc. The officer kept all of my paperwork along with 2 photos from my album. At the end of the interview she said she needed to review all of my paperwork but also said we would receive a conditional green card in the mail. About one week after the interview we received the approval notice and the green card a few days after that.
Questions the officer asked me (petitioner):
1. Where did you meet your husband?
2. How long are you married?
3. When did you meet your husband?
4. When did you start dating officially?
5. Where did you live when you met?
6. Where do you live now?
7. Do you speak to your husbands family?
8. How many siblings does your husband have?

Questions the officer asked my husband (beneficiary):
1. Where did you meet your wife?
2. Why did you come to the US? (he came on a student visa and overstayed)
3. Where did you study?
4. Why did you stop studying?
5. Where did you enter into the US?
6. Where do you work?
7. Did you meet your wife's family?
8. Who were you with when you met your wife?

Hope this helps! Be patient guys and don't listen to the negative stories out there because most of the time there's a lot more to the story that we are not hearing. Good luck!

Interview in 2 days
Hey folks,
Been a while since I've been on here but that's only because I've been busy trying to land the jobs I've been working hard towards..In addition to that, I only got my EAD a month ago so hopefully that's understandable for the interviewer as to why my first day of training is literally hours after my green card interview(crazy!!) . I just wanted to get some advice from people that have experienced the interview process already..my wife and I are pretty set, checklist checked off and pretty much good and ready for any questions thrown out way..but if anyone doesn't mind offering some tips from their own experience then please feel free.
Thanks.
