October Filer Update F2A
I called USCIS to open a SR with a T2 agent last Wednesday. She was very nice and understanding and opened an OVP request, which is like high priority based on the research I’ve done.
I just got the response (surprisingly quick) and it says I should receive a decision shortly. Don’t know why but have a good feeling from this one, the officer said she was going to send it directly to the officer as We’ve bee waiting 10 months. Also I have an info pass scheduled for Weds. hopefully good news come from there too.
I know the shortly response is something many people get, and it may not be really shortly, but I really got a hope boost from this one, and so does my wife which have been suffering the excessive wait.

HOW TO WRITE SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS FOR EXPEDITE MY I 765

ALREADY 9MONTH, I hear nothing from USCIS about my case, and my H1B Visa will be expired at SEP30th.
I called USCIS and they send me the letter for the supporting docs to expedite my case, I am about to lose my job in one month if I don't receive the working permit, and I and my husband will have no income to afford our current rent. I asked my lawyer and they ask 1000 for writing the docs for me.
Can anyone give me some suggestion about how to write the supporting docs for my case?
Is there any good format and sample? Appreciate if anyone can email your format to me for reference : [email protected]

RFE influencing work permit
Hi everyone,
So i called uscis today because i filed Feb 26 and they told me
because I had a RFE for I-485 my case started again on day 1 August 13(when they received my rfe) and that is also mu timeline for my EAD. That is 6 months GAP !!!!
When I called last week they said i only have a delay of 2 weeks (the time of sending out the RFE and receiving).
On my question What can I do and I have a job offer going on, she said nothing that we can do :(:(:(

VAWA
VAWA cases take longer than other cases which I feel is totally unfair. Due to the nature of these cases, should be faster. Many of us have fled our abusive spouses. If we’re unemployed because our EADs have expired and the automatic extension has also expired, how are we supposed to feed and house our children?

Hi folks, I was an avid reader of this page so I thought i'd share my timeline.
Married to USC, was using F1 OPT before concurrent filing (i-130, i-485, etc). Filed in MD
PD: 04/13/2018
Biometrics: 05/11/2018
No change except for: "...as of June 23 we are ready to schedule an interview" --very very NOT helpful.
06/11/2018 had to take a temporary unpaid leave from work because F1-OPT-EAD had expired. Employer gave me until 08/03 because we thought I would have it by then. I didnt.
Expedite:
07/23 - I call USCIS to try and expedite on financial reasons. Representative says she will submit request and I should hear back within 5 days - if they need additional info or if they reject my request.
07/30- It has been a week and no word from USCIS so i call one of my Senators (we have 2). Sen Van Hollen (MD). They ask me to submit privacy release form and provide any additional proof that will help my case. I submit a letter from my boss which stated that I had until 08/03 or they would fire me. The Senator's office submited the expedite request and letter to USCIS on my behalf on the same day. They called me the next day and four days later to give me updates which was very helpful.
08/06-- New card is being produced. Senator's office actually called to give me the good news. When i looked it up on the uscis website it said the same thing.
08/09--Card was mailed to me
08/11-- Card in hand. The post man left it in my mailbox. I live in a condo so it was a pretty communal mailbox, nothing special

Hello everybody! How long did it take for you to receive the social security card after receiving EAD?! It’s been a week for us and no news yet.. my husband has a working interview this week and no social security number. He went to their office and they told him he needs to be wait until it arrives
