T2 Call Experience
Just hung up with a T2. Wanted to say that she was incredibly nice, she apologized on behalf os USCIS at least 3 times and mentioned she understands how frustrating it is, which I am gladly surprised to be honest.

She did mention the case was “significantly” out of processing time and she was going to send a request directly to the officer. I had an open SR starting with T1 ( I opened over a month ago with a T1), now this one she mentioned I would get response in 2 weeks and starts with OVP, do anybody knows if this is an escalated case? She did mention that the case is under review and that the processing time chart is not very accurate now a days

FYI... F2A case RD 10/16/18 PD 8/11/16

EAD and SSN
Okay so here is my question, i received an update that my i765 was approved and they ordered my new card and i've seen several posts that people are starting to get updates about work permits and also they are getting their SSN (card) in the mail as well.
i went to google and found an article on the SSA website that says that if you now file for EAD, they will give you the option to also apply for a SSN in the same application so at this point i am very hopeful that my lawyer did the same thing and that would save me a trip to the office and apply for a number, but instead get the work permit and the social and go straight to DMV and get my learners permit.
I guess i'll know when i get my EAD in the mail

Hopeful
Married to USC
Filed in Houston, Tx
Moved to Indiana in 04/18
PD for i485 and i130 02/14/18
Receipt date for i765

Initially filed i130, I485, and i765 in feb but i765 was rejected and had to be sent again. Uscis received the i765 on 03/14/18. Except that my AP was approved 06/28/18, its been silence since cases was received; no updates what so ever.

I asked congressman for help in july, uscis sent a response to congressman's office that i765 was still pending but i485 is awaiting schedule for interview. I requested for expedited service 08/01/18 and faxed the evidence 08/03/18. No response on that since then, I don't even know if they got fax. Asked for Senator's help about the pending expedited service request yesterday and I'm hoping that will count.

I had OPT which expired 07/18. I didn't get a job with it within 90 days so i gave up using the OPT for work because it would tell on my tax return if i did. And on the day OPT expired, boom I got a job in the industry i want to be. Now I'm just waiting on for ead to come, i don't even care about interview now.

Hopefully I'll get approved soon. Good luck to every one waiting

EAD Approved and Mailed
My timeline

PD date March 7th
Receipt date March 14th
March 23rd status stated that they received my fingerprint fees
Biometric April 17th

Since then no status update so I call USCIS customer service about five times between June and August 8th and got the same response with no help. All the representative said my case was within normal processing time and I should wait.

On August 8th I saw in this forum that someone from April received their EAD and that prompted me to call the customer service once again. I was asking the agent about my case and at the same time I told him that when I applied the time was 3-4 months and now it is about 5-7 months. I was also telling him that I have a mortgage to pay and my husband cannot do it alone.

He said that I can expedite my case so I asked him how to do that and he said he can do it for me. He asked me a few questions like what was my email address, home address and telephone number which I provided. He give me a reference number and said I will hear from them within five days.

The next morning I received a email from them stating that they received my case and us working on it. During the day my status changed to card being process and then it changed again to case approved. On August 13th I received the letter in the mail stating that they will send my EAD card soon. ON August 14th I received an email that they send my card via US Postal Service. I will not wait on my card.

No word on my ssn but I will go into the office to get one if it does not arrive immediately after my card.

All the best everyone and thanks very much for sharing and encouraging me during my time of wait. Oh and they did not ask me for any evidence to expedite my case.

SSN filed with EAD!
Dear All

So after almost 6 months my status changed to "Card is mailed by USPS to the address you gave us".

How long does it usually take? I got the update on August 10.

Now, I already received yesterday the approval letter and today, since I am subscribed in USPS informed delivery I saw that I have a mail from Social Security Administration. (can I assume this is my social security card already?)

DId anyone experience the same, getting SSN first before EAD? I am just waiting. But do you think I can start working/applying with my SSN without the EAD and just the approval letter?

Visa retrogression?
Hi!

I have been reading a lot of April and March filers getting their EAD. Wanted to check if maybe some May filers have heard anything.

Also, I’ve read several posts mentioning visa retrogression but I’m not sure what it means. Can someone explain a little bit?

Thanks!
