Hi everyone!
Is anyone waiting for the EAD/AP since December 2017 like me???
It's been 254 days now and nothing.
2 days ago I called USCIS customer service and they raised my first service request.
But from what I've been reading here USCIS replies never give any specific information.
My lawyer says I need to patiently wait but I'm thinking to contact a congressman or an ombudsman.
Has anyone have positive experience contacting them??? Please share!

My PD was April 18 at NBC
I’m still waiting for my EAD/AP to get approved.
I currently have a work visa that is expiring in September. Can my employer put me on unpaid leave until I get my EAD?

EAD card received
Hi everyone,
Below are my dates:
Married to US citizen and filed i-130, I-485, I-765 and I-131
PD: March 19, 2018
Fingerprints review was completed: April 18, 2018
Case is ready to be scheduled for an Interview: April 30
New Card is Being Produced: August 8
Notice in the mail saying EAD and Advance parole were approved
Card mailed: August 13
Combo card in hand: August 15
I have been able to keep working since my company filed for H1B visa extension and the case is still pending. Does anyone know what happens to the H1B case now that my EAD has been approved?

8/7/2018: case was approved
8/9/2018: received approval notice
8/10/2018: EAD was mailed by USPS
8/13/2018: Received Approval notice
8/14/2018: Received Social Security Card
8/15/2018: Received EAD
Just a lot of patience and trust. At least now it's a little easier to wait for my I-485 cause I can work while waiting. I am getting my driver's license too as well!

Expedite with Job Offer (Atlanta)

This website is really helpful and I want to share my experience with EAD so far.
I applied for my green card (marriage based) and work authorization all together. Here is the timeline:
07/02/2018 I765 Received Date
07/09/2018 Notice Date
07/30/2018 Biometrics Appointment
08/03/2018 Got a job offer
08/07/2018 Contacted Congressman and sent all documents
08/10/2018 Called USCIS myself and asked to expedite based on "Severe Financial Loss"
The USCIS website now shows:
- On August 10, 2018, your request to have your case expedited, referral number xxx, was completed.
- On August 10, 2018, we sent a response to your request to have your case expedited, referral number ZZZ.
- On August 10, 2018, your request to have your case expedited, referral number YYYY was assigned to an officer for response.
Here are some details:
1. The congressman officer told me "a congressional inquiry has been made on your behalf. As soon as a response is received, you will be contacted."
2. 3 days later I called USCIS and they said that there was no EXPEDITE request and that the only person that could this type of request was me.
3. I then opened the request with an USCIS officer over the phone.
4. The USCIS website says that my request was assigned to an officer, a response was sent and the request was completed all on the same day that I called them.
5. I never sent a copy of my job offer or anything to USCIS.
I am now waiting for a mail with the answer for my request.
My concern is that they never asked for a copy of my job offer... and I am not sure what's the congressman role here. It doesn't look that they can help at all.
Any thoughts?

Hi all. Been lurking as a guest for a while and really appreciate a lot of questions and answers on here:)
Decided to register so I could ask my own!
I’m curious if a good enough reason to request my EAD/travel docs be expedited due to my husband working out of state. We live in a rural area, no public transport whatsoever. Basically stranded without drivers license when he’s away (which is about 3 weeks monthly) depending on my fil for rides to and from anywhere.
Received date for both said forms March 29/18

About to be unemployed and maybe homeless
This has been a horrible experience. I'm a single mother of 3 kids. I do not have any family or friends to help. I was staying at mother's and she asked me to leave. She made up these sorry excuses for wanting to put me out. I was only there for 3 months. My mother is root of what I am going through. She never filed for me as a child. My case is a VAWA case and I have been waiting since November 2017 for my renewal. If I lose my job, I will be homeless. I have sent letters and called. This is extremely tiring.
