RFIE
Hi everyone,
SO today, after 5,5 months of waiting, I received a notification that they sent me a Request for Initial Evidence.
PD: 02/25/18, C9, NBC, living in California

I filed with an attorney which is sure we sent everything. He also said that sometimes they request something people have already sent, because they don't pay attention... great...
But I've seen some people get that because of the 2017 tax returns, so I believe this is what they want... EVEN if we filed in February and the 2017 became available in April.
(when we filed we sent the 2016 tax returns as the lawyer said, which was way above the poverty guidelines)

I want to know what is all of this about, I'm so pissed off that it took so long just for that. Still can't work or travel!

My question is: How long does it takes for the Notice fr RFIE to arrive in the mail? (after you get the notification on the website that they sent it)

And if you had the same situation, how long after you send the request back do they approve and start production of the EAD/AP card?

Thanks a lot guys

EAD in hand!!!
Hello Hello there,

Thank you for sharing your experiences which was useful to read.

Read my advise at the end:

Married to USC. Pending I-485

Filled on 01/02/2018
Application received 01/18/2018, NBC
Bio 02/07/2018
First SR April 2018
Second SR May 2018
Ombudsman Filled June 2018
Updates of the SR were just posted on my USCIS account but no response on the progress
Completion of six months July 18
First email first time received an officer is assigned on your case July 20, 2018
Case approved and Card being produced July 27, 2018
Combo Card in hand August 2nd 2018

The timeline for the processing shown on the website of the USCIS is recently correct. Therefore, comparing it with your application date, you have to be patient with your application.
I did not try, but I think your job offer letters can help expediting the process.
Your case is one of the thousands, there is no point, unless something really wrong with your case, they postponed your papers. It means they work on your case and their timeline for processing is efficient. You should not stress-out and no panic.
Let the completion of six months and and over a week, before you really start to worrying.
Prayers work, listen to your music, read the books you wished to read but were never able.
Like me, you will one day share your experience here :)

For those of you with no Driver License, after registering your marriage or even a different case, you can still apply for your driving permit etc. The DMV needs your 6 points of approval which is on their website. Every ID of you value either 1 or 3 points, which a total of 6 points can help you apply for your permit. please refer them to this link:

https://dmv.ny.gov/driver-license/prove-identity-age-permitlicense

Wish you all the best of luck!!! You will receive it one day and what a feeling :)

Interview Scheduling at San Francisco Office
Hello folks the exhausting journey continues. Earlier this May after long 10 months of wait EAD was approved and files were moved to local San Francisco office for 485/greencard interview.

I am married to USC and my status has been stuck on "ready to schedule interview" for a few months now. Anyone had any luck getting their interview scheduled with SF local office? Congress person cannot help and infopass is closed for SF office since April.

I have no idea how to plan travel and has been 2 years since seen family or parents. thanks for any tips or guidance on how long will the wait be until they actually schedule it.

EAD ordered
Hi everyone

I am married to USC, case handler is NBC.

PD is 2/20/2018.

Today 8/7/2018 my case status changed to "we ordered your new card for receipt number MSC **** ** and will mail it to the address you gave us."

Does this mean my EAD is approved? I didn't get any other notice or case update.

Also how long will it take for me to actually receive the EAD?

Thank you so much.
