How to do you expediate your case with proofs?
Hello everyone,

how do you expedite your process showing proof of evidence? I am guessing mostly everyone's reason will be the financial hardship or loss.

Do you show your banking statements, taxes, bills you pay? Do you show job offers or proof that you are currently working and need to stay in the company?

But the thing is everyone is either working or have job offers so how do you make yourself considered "financial hardship/loss" category when everyone is applying for EAD for that reason?

I want to expedite my process but I don't know what kind of evidence or proof I will need to prepare.

Please advice and thank you in advance!

sharing my timeline
Hi morning everyone,

I had a dream last night that my i-765 and I-131 got approved. Woke up around 7:30 to check my status, nothing changed. Checked around 9 in the morning, my I-765 status changed to “ new card is being produced” after 132 days, about 4.5 months. My I-131 status remains the same “ case was received”.

I am not that excited about I-765 because I really want my AP get approved, I really need to go back to my home country to visit my grandma. i am not sure if I will get a combo card or just my EAD card.

I saw some people said even they only got I-765 approved, but they still received combo card. But there’s people also said they only got EAD, no AP. Also, people are saying when receive EAD, it will state AP is approved on the card. I am really confused and desperate want to get my AP. Could you guys please share your thoughts? Anyone had similar situation?

I need to book my flight back to my home country soon since my school will start next month. Do you guys think I will get a combo card or just EAD?

I also want to share my experience since you guys posts also helped me so much. I want to let everyone know that you are not alone, we are in this fight together, keep your head high!!

My timeline:

Category c9 , married to USC, I-485, I-130, I-131, I-765 filed together to Chicago lockbox.

Married: 8-05-2017
PD: 3-16-2018
BIO: 4-16-2018
I-485 status changed to “case is ready to be scheduled for an interview” on April 18th, 2018.
I-765 status changed to “new card is being produced” today (132 days total)
I-131 status “case was received” (132 days total )

I submitted e-notification form, but never received any messages or emails. Signed up for USCIS my account through that dhs website, all case status still the same “we received your case” based on my experience, I can’t say that the website is accurate.

I didn’t expedite my case. Went to info pass because I need my AP, it was useless. Called L2 officer twice about my AP, they didn’t help at all. Last time I called was last week, she told me the same answer I saw on the website, “your case is within normally processing time, you need to wait, you have a long way to go, you have to wait most likely 3 months “ I was pretty pissed after that phone call, honestly, if you guys gonna give me the same answer that I can check online by myself, what’s the point of having this customer service line? Aren’t you guys wasting your time and people’s time? I think they know as much as we do. But again, that’s from my experience, I saw other people said L2 officers helped them. So I can’t say all L2 officers are the same.

Anyhow, if you have similar experience, please give me some advise, anything would be greatly appreciated! I hope everything goes well with everyone, and wish you guys all the best!

I will update my case once my case has update.

GOOD LUCK TO ALL!

I'm reporting on delayed EADs
Hello everyone,

My name is Decca Muldowney and I am a freelance reporter. I am working on a story about delays in USCIS processing EADS - and taking up to six months+ to process them. (I also have my own delayed EAD story!).

If you've had an experience waiting for an EAD that has impacted your ability to work in the US, or impacted your life in any other way, I'd love to hear from you.

Drop me an email at [email protected]

Thanks for your time,

Decca

EAD i-765 renewal
Hello,

I am renewing my previous EAD which expires in 9/16/2018.

I am currently employed and am worried if i have to quit or take leave (if they allow it since I just started 5-6 months ago).

My EAD I-765 application is at National Benefits Center and I applied ~4.1 months before expiration to give some ample time but now I am not sure if it will arrive in time since I have not received any status update.

The National Benefit Center:

05/14/2018 - We received your Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization.

*Skipped Biometrics - received a letter saying I don't need to do my biometrics and will use my previous one*

06/25/2018 - We completed our review of your fingerprints......

I still have about ~1.2 months before current one expires but I don't know if it will arrive :(

Anyone who applied in early to mid May received their EAD card yet? If it is renewal and since I skipped biometrics, I feel like it would have been bit faster but its almost 3 months in few weeks since they received it. It is getting so frustrating since I just got the job and was confident that applying slightly over 4 months would have been ample time to get it in time. The stress of thinking of quitting my job or taking leave is really frustrating me. My lawyer says that all I can do it wait or renew my DACA (one of his client got the card in 1 month). But right now my husband is petitioning me for greencard so I really don't know if I should really waste more lawyer fees and application fees and renew DACA and hope that I can also get it within a month. :/

Interesting Facts:

So if you type random numbers in the case status, you can see other people's status.

I have seen that people who have their receipt received in 4/15-4/18 have gotten their card within 2.5 months or less. I don't know why mine is taking so long ugh.

But then I looked at other cases and some people do not even have any other updates other than we received your case status. I see people from April and May still saying finger print completed and no status change either. After browsing through various numbers these three are the only ones I found with card being produced and mailed less than 3 months :/ lucky for them.
