how to seek help from Senator?
My Senator refuses to help, citing he can't contact USCIS more than once in 30 days. Is there any truth to this? how do we push the Senator?

200+ days
Somebody asked if there are people who are waiting for 200+ days. That is me. They received my application for EAD on the 11th of September (c9 category). In November I got an RFE, they received my response on the 16th of November. Since then - NOTHING. First service request was ignored, but I got a response to the second one. Response which seems to be standard after looking at other people's experience. It's been 203 days since they have received my application. I am just so frustrated. I sit without a job for 8 months already, can't get the driver's licence because can't get SSN (they don't want to give it until I get my EAD). Their response gave me hope but then I saw that people get the exact same response. I hope that we all will be approved really shortly.

EAD 180+ Days and Counting!
My wife and I filed our application for employment-based green card on October 2nd. Our applications were assigned to Nebraska center. I surprisingly received my EAD at the end of February after roughly 140 days. My wife has been now waiting for 180+ days and counting. It's getting really frustrating to the extent that we have seriously taken into consideration the option of moving back to Europe. How many of you guys have been waiting for 180+ days?

Initial EAD
Every time I'm posting here I wish it was good news I'm coming with....my last service request which was put through by a level 2 officer was done as a administrative error since my case was reviewed but no response. To day I noticed th service request was completed. I called uscis n requested a level 2 officer to find out what the outcome was and the level one staff could not assist.

Tonight I got a call from uscis and they stated the service request put through by the level 2 officer was wrong and he basically stated that the letter I will be receiving will indicate that I should wait a little longer since my case is still under review.

The officer also indicated that in order for them to approve an i765 they must have all required checks for the i485 example background check. He stated they have not received my background check as yet and until then they cannot approve my i765. He stated once a check is missing for i485 it will prolong the i765 because it won't be approved unless they get that.

I'm frustrated and stressed and I need to see some light on my case....I hope u guys are holding on like I'm trying to

I-765
Been waiting since November 2nd 2017 (151 days) I've learned that calling does no good, making an inquiry useless. Set infopass for two weeks from now! I'm not expecting to get anything but wait, wait and more lip service. After exploring all my options, I getting in touch with my senator in Indiana! The only people who seem to get results are the people who go through their congressmen! My wife had everything done in 5 months two weeks with her green card in hand. August 26th 2017 since then trump signed a few executive orders screwing things up! A word of wisdom would be to reach out to the Democratic party in your district!! Also the dates on processing times, aren't the months their working on!! Its the date you can now file an inquiry! Which is now 2 or 3 times longer than it was 7 months ago!! Get your friends and family members who are citizens to VOTE BLUE! Before this great country goes down the drain. God bless

EAD approval process
Hello all

Wanted to share my experience of getting EAD and some hassles involved.

I am a citizen of India and have applied for a green card through marriage ( wife is US citizen)

Submitted form I-485/130 and also submitted I- 765/131 for EAD/AP beginning October 2017. Biometrics done November 7, 2017

Case status updated appropriately online. On December 12, 2017 I received a form saying my EAD/ AP has been approved

However I did NOT receive the card in the mail. Waited 30 days and contacted lawyer and multiple requests were submitted to USCIS. They said there was an ERROR on THEIR part and will be rectified.

Took about 4 calls with expedited requests. I received a letter MARCH 21 saying they do not have my biometrics!( done November)- However they figured it out and my card was mailed March 26, 2018 and received it 3 days later

It took me more than 3 MONTHS from getting the EAD approval notice to getting the actual card. Just got it in time as my new employment started April 1, 2018.

I-485 still pending and status says " case ready to be scheduled for interview"

L2 EAD timeline
Hi Folks,

Thanks everyone for sharing their experience. Long time lurker here.
Sharing timelines for my wife's application.

Current EAD expires - April 27, 2018
Application submitted - Jan 3rd, 2018
Application received by USCIS - Jan 5th, 2018.

Received date on my.uscis.gov/account/ - Jan 9th.

Application sent to Dallas lockbox and routed to the USCIS Vermont Service Center.

We raised a service request to USCIS on March 19th (73rd day).
Got the standard response by mail - currently in line for processing.

Raised Ombudsman request - March 22nd (76th day).

Status changed to card being produced and will be mailed within 120 days - today - April 2nd.

We followed up with USCIS on phone couple of times after filing first SR. Not much helpful and they asked to wait for 30 days.

Ombudsman was more helpful and informed us they have made contact with USCIS agent. We called them twice since raising SOS.

I am not sure if USCIS processed our request within usual turn of events or Ombudsman following up helped us out.

Note status changed only on myuscis.gov and egov.uscis.gov still shows original status - Case Received.

We were planning to reach out to the Senator office and take an Info Pass appointment this week.

I would recommend reaching out to Ombudsman right around the 75th day mark. I am pretty sure having people query the status multiple times made the agent act on our request faster.

Also was looking for an Info Pass appointment for Philadelphia and was never able to find a slot. They show appointment times 14 days in advance and it was never available. Your mileage may vary.

Shoot if you need any other info.
All the best, kind people.
