Great News!!
Hello people!

Today, I went to an infopass appointment, after I have already checked my EAD status, which has not changed ever since it was received. The USCIS officer told me that my EAD was approved TODAY and a letter was mailed as well!! However, neither websites (new or old) shows that it was approved.

Do you think it is really approved? When do you think the status would update?

Hi any Boston applicants who recently filed for AOS based on marriage to NBC? Just want to get an idea of the time line and compare the timeline beyond the EAD until interview.

Response from USCIS
A week after submitting my application I contacted the congressman. They basically told me they got a generic response from USCIS. Today I receive an email saying "we are still reviewing your case and there are no updates at this time"

PD : 01/ 25
Bio: 02/23
Contacted senator: 02/13
Response from USCIS: 03/26 (day 60)

C9 F1-AOS

So is there any progress being made ? My f1 OPT EAD is expires May 11 and I just want my renewal EAD before then... I was thinking of raising an SR and contacting the congressman on day 75.

L2 EAD - New Application - A18 - VSC
Hi All,

Have been a long time silent visitor to these forums and have benefited immensely first at the visa stage and then for the EAD. So, felt motivated to share my own experience in the hope it will help someone.

Case details -
L2 EAD - (a) 18 - Spouse of L1
Vermont Service Centre
Receipt Date - 29th Nov 2017
Status - EAD approved on 14th Mar 2018 (105 days)
Card dispatched on 16th Mar 2018
Card received on 20th Mar 2018

17 Feb 2018 - Filed first SR through phone on day 80. Was closed in 2 working days stating "Pending Consideration" (duh)
4 Mar 2018 - Filed second SR online on day 95. Was closed the next working day stating "Case has been assigned to officer for processing, however we cannot provide a timeframe to arrive at a decision" (however this gave me hope that something was happening).
14 Mar 2018 - Initiated process to reach out to Congressman. Faxed request, dispatched hard copy by mail. Also setup infopass appointment, earliest slot available for 28 Mar 2018
18 Mar 2018 - Filed third SR online on day 109. Received response next day that EAD was approved on 14-Mar & card was dispatched on 16-Mar. No tracking number was provided. Same day Congressman's office got in touch asking for a release form to be signed, I responded saying that I had received confirmation my EAD had been approved.

Called up customer service and asked to be put through to Level 2 officer who provided me the USPS tracking number for the card. Had an anxious moment here when USPS showed that package had been delivered but I hadnt got it. Closer inspection of the mailbox revealed the package hidden off to one side.

In the end, got the EAD in its due course without any outside intervention. However, the Congressman's office followed up till I confirmed I had the physical card in possession. The USCIS website still shows the same status as when the application was first received.

My advice -
(1) Be patient. It will take between 100-120 days. However, follow up by raising SRs at 75 days, 90 days and every 10-15 days thereafter. Dont rely on status being updated on USCIS website.
(2) Definitely contact the Congressman after 100 days, they are very helpful and I've read that it helps if they follow up with USCIS
(3) Would strongly recommend collecting the package from USPS post office and having Informed Delivery enabled on your address. The repercussions for USPS losing the package are very grave, you need to pay the filing fees and go through the whole process (3 months) again. USCIS treats it as if you've lost the card.

Best of luck to everyone who's waiting.

Help with contacting USCIS,Ombudsman
My data is as below
RD: 01/11/2018
California Service Center (A18 -L2 EAD)

Current EAD expiry : 04/27/2018

As of today, it is 74 days since RD. I want to contact and find out regarding the case since my employer has indicated that I would be terminated on EAD expiry.

1) Do I contact USCIS? If so, do I call them and ask to speak to Tier 2?
I tried from the online form and it does not allow me to raise SR since it is within processing time
2) Can I contact ombudsman in parallel or do I need to wait 30 days after contacting USCIS?

3) Any other options?

I also booked an InfoPass appointment on 04/04/2018 . What should I be prepared for this appointment?

Received EAD!
Hi there, this site helped me so I thought I would let you'll know what I did in order to finally receive my EAD.

My PD was August 7th, 2017. I applied for AOS and EAD through marriage (my husband is American). I got the letter saying they received my package and that I had my Biometrics in a month. After I finished my biometrics in Sept I did not hear anything back.
I put in my first inquiry in Jan (though I could have done it in Dec after waiting 90 days for my EAD) and did that inquiry over the phone when I called USCIS. (its important that you make an inquiry).
After not hearing back for a month I put in another request on the USCIS page to find out what was going on. After not hearing back for a month after my second inquiry I completed the form and sent it to the Ombudsman. Within 2 weeks of that I received an email from Ombudsman saying they had contacted USCIS who had made a decision about my EAD and yesterday evening I received it.

I know this process is so hard and frustrating, but what people say here is true; suddenly the papers will come when you least expect it but it will come.

I will say its important after 90 days that you put in an inquiry for your EAD, you probably won't hear anything for a month, once a month has passed since you put the inquiry, put in another one either over the phone or through their website. Once you've done this then you can contact an Ombudsman but its helpful if you try the other stuff first because the Ombudsman might not take your case until you've made sufficient inquiries and stuff into your case.

Take care everyone, good luck, you'll get your stuff soon!
