L2 EAD renewal - VSC
Hi All,

I finally got my EAD card today(112th day) and wanted to share my experience. I raised 2 SRs (got the standard response to both saying my case is in line for processing) and did meet an officer through infopass. The officer at the field center asked me to get my bio done even though I had not received a notice for that. She said it would get the ball rolling. I also raised an expedite request on the same day which got denied the very next day! Spoke to an agent through Emma after 2 days and she re-opened the old SR saying I have not received my card yet. They approved my case on the same day the SR was assigned to an officer!

Not sure if its the Bio or the re-opening of the SR, or its just that my case was next in queue, finally my wait is over! Online status still says 'Case Received'! Apparently they are not updating the online status anymore (starting 2018) and that means level 1 agents do not have any info either!

Good luck to all!

EAD nightmare
hi,

current F! OPT expires on Jan 9th, 2018. applied for a marriage-based green card.
timeline

10/11/2017 - application received
10/18/2017 - notice date
11/08/2017 - biometrics
12/19/2017 - requested expedite (working for TN State government and losing my employment can affect my time-sensitive projects and also the public of TN)
12/26/2017 - received a notice saying expedite completed
01/03/2017 - called a tier 2 representative and she said to be patient due to holidays we have a delay but an officer is working on it.
01/05/2017 1 PM - went to INFOPASS in Louisville KY but we live in Nashville TN. one we got there this was the experience we had.
he lady in the window took my SR and my current EAD and typed my current A number in the system and she assumed that I was there for my OTP STEM extension and said you're a student so you cant renew or request expedited why are you here. I said I am not here to renew my OPT EAD, but I applied for an EAD in a new category and here for that. she did not even look into my file and another lady in the back said "sir, you are not qualified for automatic extension so you will lose your job on Jan 9, you are not anything special from all the other people that apply for EAD, you can call all day and put a service/expedite request every day but they will not do anything and you will not get a decision for 4 months cause the normal processing time nowadays is 6 months due to backlogs. please let me one reason which makes you so special. people apply for premium service and employer pays thousands of extra dollars but you paid nothing compared to them. so you are not special." and the lady in the counter in front of me said "sir, if your employers allow you, you can work after it expires also" and my spouse said but would that not make him work illegally and she said "yes but it's up to the employer. " plus she didnot even type any notes
01/05/2018 3 PM - called a teir 2 resprentative - didnt mention about the infoPass and asked an update, he said "your case was assigned to a officer on dec 21st and is reviewing it, i see you have a strong case due to expiring EAD and i hope you might recieve a decison next week plus your 485 is also ready for schedulign an interview" then i told about infopass, he said "i apologize but i dnt think they had enough knowledge or may be did not have access to all of your file".

01/08/2017 - hands on my heart and faith in a miracle.

my EAD is expiring tomorrow, i am here at work do not know what to do, i am having a panic attack. need suggestions and prayers.

EAD renewal i-765 Filing Address Confusion-- Help please
Hi, I live in California but all my current/past EADs have been issued by Texas Service center (SRC) probably based on my i-485 filing at SRC. Now I am about to file EAD renewal application, and I'm confused about where to mail the I-765 application. USCIS website says Phoenix based on where I live, but last time my EAD renewal application was re-routed to Texas by USCIS Phoenix. This time, should I send to Texas rather than to Phoenix to avoid delays? Appreciate any insights. Thank you

L2 EAD - Forgot to send Photos
I sent all the documentation but missed sending photo with my EAD application on 26th Dec.
I believe they have accepted the application because my check was encashed on Jan 3rd.

Will they send RFE now to send the photos or sometime later?
If they dont send RFE now, will I be able to send the photos beforehand?
Once I get confirmation letter from them should I send photos?
Due to RFE will the process gets delayed? if so how long the delay is?

Please help me if someone faced this issue.

Thanks

Combo card in hand
Hi everyone, just want to share the good news and my experience.

My PD was in early May, marriage based adjustment of status. RFP response in mid July set me back and I've been waiting for my I-765 approval since then.

I basically called USCIS to talk to an officer every day in December and January, until I got the news that my application was approved. Since then I've been waiting for USPS new package update. I am lucky because I live close to KY, and received my combo card in a day after it was shipped.

I am thankful for everyone on this forum, even the silent readers. Y'all let me know that I was not alone.

My EAD card expires next year, so hopefully I'll get my green card before it expires. At least I can work and renew my DL now.

If there's any advice I could offer, I'd say, be proactive and try everything. My husband and I did all the paperwork ourselves. While waiting, I tried SR, Ombudsman, infopass, our senator, our congressman, and the DMV department of our local government. I can't say for sure that any of the above methods helped, but at least I tried, I couldn't stand not doing anything at all.

L2 EAD - California processing center
Applied on Sept 27th 2017 (California processing center)
USCIS received on Sept 28th 2017

Called on 76th day and raised a service ticket
Called again on 82nd day and asked for the status. Was told that I have to wait until 90 days
Called again on 90th day and raised second ticket
Called again on 100th day morning and asked why this is taking so long (Jan 5th 2018)
Received text message saying that case status has been updated.
Checked the status and the status changed to "New Card is being produced"
